The Ether is more stable than Aura. To me the Aura flies like a beat up pro wraith. Flippy with some good glide. The Ether is like a halo wraith. So headwind I'd throw Realm or Ether and tailwind would be Aura or Journey.
@@EricJenkinsDiscGolf thanks for the info. Your videos got me going down the gateway rabbit hole and it’s been a lot of fun! Had no idea that they had so many great discs!
@@NateT0524 they have a ton of great plastic. The NXT blend is almost indestructible 🔥 my Code EJDG15 if you haven't seen that already lol save you some cash on gatewaydiscsports.com
I must have gotten a fluke. Nothing stable to understable about the aura I got. It is so damn beefy. It more overstable than the realm I ordered with it. I am loving the realm Im still looking for a understable driver from gateway, any recommendations?
Lighter weight spear would definitely be understable. Cyborg is really understable like leopard or worse. I'd say Cyborg would be a great truly flippy fairway driver. As far as higher speeds the Journey is somewhat understable. It's all relative to armspeed as well so it depends on what you are throwing straight. Sorry the Aura you got wasn't so flippy 😬 I wonder what the weight was
@@EricJenkinsDiscGolf how is the apex? The aura is a 165 grams. When I took the aura and the realm out of the box and flipped over and looked at the rims. I noticed that aura had a much more overstable looking rim than the realm. I just kind of shrugged it off. When I threw them today holy crap I couldn’t believe it. The realm which is 168 grams has a very nice straight S turn flight and a nice fade at the end. When I threw the aura just picture a super over stable firebird going about a 150 feet then a hard dump to the left. I do suspect that this disc is mislabeled.
@@NateT0524 possibly, the Spell is a more overstable mold that could have been what you got. They're usually pretty good about that tho, should be labeled straight from the press. The new air strike and flamethrower are both flippy high speed drivers. Flamethrower is definitely flippy
These are probably not in super lightweights just yet. They're still very flippy for the speed 12. Cyborg is probably the best for brand new players with very slow armspeeds. The Aura for me was very usable at any speed
