My current keyboard has around 60 keys and has a very light and cheap feel. When i googled it i found out it has "lighted keys." my house has a real piano which i much prefer using, but it is very old and not always in tune. Also the room its in has very high ceilings and is hard to heat so we block it off and its freezing in there. I hope the semi weighted keys on this feel much more like the real piano. thanks for the review

I have a grand piano so I'm just looking for a lightweight that I can bring with me and also use earphones so I can play whenever. I was more interested in the 66 keys. The 88 is so long. I've already bought the Go keys but I'm sending it back. I really wasn't impressed with the feeling of the keys or the sound. I was thinking of the Casio 61-Key Portable Keyboard CTX700. Thoughts?

I love this keyboard i originally had a 61 key Yamaha with the spring keys but the 61 key started being a problem when I went to my lesson using a full 88 acoustic piano with Weighted keys. The semi weighted is so nice if your like me a one hand is weaker and half the time can't get a clear note to sound. My favorite feature of this piano has to be the transpose function its kinda hidden as it doesn't use a actual transpose button. Even my music teacher was impressed of it and the price point for a digital piano that has so much going for it

Piano In 21 Days-Hey Jacques had an Allegro, they have 88 keys. Switched to their Legato cuz it had a synth setting. It’s exactly the same piano as that Recital(same factory? Alesis bought the brand?) Wanted to get a Recital tho cuz it’s same brand as my QS6 and SR18 drum machine. Plus you need an adapter to get a 1/4” out to an amp. Does the Recital have a 1/4” out jack? Thanks!!🎶
@jml7916
@jml7916 4 года назад
My only complaint is not mentioning other low cost options that sound 100x better. A better sound will help you practice more and longer. For $299 you can get the Yamaha NP-32 (has 76 vs 88 keys) or the Roland go keys 88. Both are semi weight to keep price down but sound much better than the Alesis. For under $500, Yamaha P-45, Casio CDP-S150 and Korg B2 all offer great build quality, good sound and weighted action. They can all also be sold used for $350-$400 if you decide you don’t want them anymore.

Alesis have released the Recital PRO version, which features Hammer Action keys as the main improvement (which makes it feel closer to an actual acoustic piano) I have my own Recital PRO and so far it's great with a few setups! Some pianists claims that it feels and sounds like a Yamaha. What do you think about this recent addition from Alesis?
@PianoIn21Days
@PianoIn21Days 5 лет назад
Hi Frimelda, The Pro version is great! It is pricier because of the more authentic-feeling keys though, so that's why I still think the normal Recital might be a better choice for a lot of people. ;) -Jacques

Hi, just suscribed, I don't consider myself a beginner but got this one a year ago cuz I'm a uni student from Mexico and have a really low budget, I have some doubts about the key sensitivity, I can switch it from light to medium to hard, but since I've never touched a real piano and this is my first weighed keyboard I dont feel the difference (the light one sounds softer, but whats the difference between just turning the volume down?) which option should I use so it works as closely to a real piano? I just finished learning the Mazurka op 7 no.2 on medium and the dynamics werent much trouble, but I don't know if it would be better to set it on light or on hard. Have you played with those settings? Hope you can respond to my comment. In a couple of years I should finish school and the first thing I'm buying is at least the recital pro, or maybe a cheap upright. Have a nice day!

Hi there, This is a good compromise between budget and feel because the keys are semi-weighted. Hi Carlos, They have a bit of resistance and weight to them that is closer to the acoustic feel than non-weighted keys. But if feel is very important to you, I recommend you go to a music store in your area to try some differentn models and get a better understanding of what the differences feel like. :) -Jacques

Hi Juan, This is semi-weighted, and I haven't noticed the audio issue you've mentioned. Any piano or keyboard will have a lighter sound to the extreme right side, but I enjoy this model and have no big complaints about it. That said, only buy something you feel comfortable with! :) -Jacques

Summer Girl Try looking on amazon or ebay, ebay is mostly used so it’s probably cheaper but be careful because it might have issues and I recommend 88 keys since the keys is complete while having a 60 keys keyboard is fine and cheaper than the 88 keys the 88 keys just have more feel in any song you play.

I have been looking at this piano for a while now and I have two questions to make closure on my decision. So first of all, do the semi-weighted keys also play louder the harder you hit? And second of all, are the keys the width of a regular piano’s? I have a cheap synthetizer but it doesn’t have enough notes and the keys are really wide so I want to find a piano on which it doesn’t hurt as much to try to play songs with more stretched chords/melodies. Thanks in advance for the response! :)
@PianoIn21Days
@PianoIn21Days 5 лет назад
Hi there, These keys are touch sensitive as well as semi-weighted, so yes, they will play louder if you do. ;) And the keys are pretty standard size but I haven't actually measured them. Thanks for the info. Most of the reviews I've read agree with yours so I went ahead and ordered one, with an M-Audio SP-2 (good pedal?) It's been in my Amazon wish list for months. I took piano lessons for a couple of years when I was 8-10, and guitar lessons for a year when I was 13, but never stuck with either despite some success. I haven't picked up a guitar or so much as touched a piano since I was in my 20s, and as I start to get close to the dark edges of my 50s, the urge to try and make music again has become surprisingly strong. I usually use EBates but that would have earned me a whole 3 bucks...I hope you get a better return than that with your affiliate link....your review was certainly worth that much. Thanks again!
