My first snake was a cornsnake. She is now 15 years old and doing great. I also have a ball python now, she has the cutest pupper face. They are both great snakes for beginners.

If corn snakes and ball pythons could breed, would its offspring be called corn balls?

Gonna have to agree with you. Corn snakes are great for beginners as they are more forgiving. I feel like BP are also more likely to be picky eaters than corns but that could just be my personal experience

ive owned one corn snake and 3 ball pythons. that one corn superseded all three ball pythons. he was so easy to care for in terms of heat and humidity. and he was a phenomenal eater. all three of my balls were average to terrible eaters. ball pythons are cute but i need a snake that can eat. im so used to retics haha.

I personally dont get why people care about eating. I mean I understand you could get scared if you didn't know they very picky eaters, but in that case you didnt do enough research. But if you know about it then why?!

great video, sir. Thank You. Also, I think You forgot to mention that Ball Pythons, allthough gorgeous I have to say 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍, tend to be very picky when it comes to eating, and also often go on long-term "hunger strikes", so yeah, I would give higher score to Corn Snake here 😉

Awsome video. Thanks for the info. You look good too 👍 I have a question. Do you think Corn Snakes do well in tropical areas? I don't know if a place with high humidity would affect a CS in a negative way. I live in the Caribean and most people in my area have a BP beacuse they are "more tropical" and because of how they look, but with all my research I really think CS are my type of snake.

I'm not a ball python fan. I like more active snakes. But they're all beautifull. I have a little boy Cali King and I like his behaviour. Also he's the most social Cali King in the world I think. Never musks, bites, and tail rattling is just if he gets fed he's a little bit to exiting then.😛👍🐍

I personally like black racers. However, my mom did not like snakes and would not let me bring it inside on a 94 temp day in Florida and it died in its shade hammock I made for it due to being too hot. I lied to my mother and let it go because it was wild so she would not feel bad. I felt it was a very good beginner snake and it was easy to feed. Unfortunately, I had to keep it out side.
@nightinggale6470

They’re not good for beginners. They’re not really bred in captivity and considering how active they are and how large they get they’d need a massive enclosure to thrive.

I’m not sure what anybody else thinks but since I’ve never owned i snake I’ve been doing research to see if I would like one but I don’t wanna get a snake the lives a long time bc if I realize I can’t or provide for it or it’s just no the right thing for me then I don’t wanna have to give it away or send it to a shelter bc then I’d feel so bad and I’d always be wondering what happened to it. Love your videos but have to disagree on enclosure size. No way does a ball python need a bigger one! They are pet rocks that hide until feeding day. Corns are way more mobile and love to move around and explore. Also, wish more reptile youtubers would talk about how awesome rosy boas are for beginners too! Docile. Small. Great eaters. Low maintenance.

I decided cornsnake. Honestly for me it came down to the 5 categories... no I'm not Clint. Turns out falsies are rather hard to find and I seem to have missed the baby hognoses this year. Getting a shipped snake is also a bit of a challenge so petsmart "fancy" cornsnake for the win. I regret nothing.

For future reference please don’t buy animals from PetSmart, they’re not a good company to support (and often sell sick animals). Shipping reptiles is a much better option. Or going to a reptile expo, or checking Craigslist, or finding a reputable local petstore or breeder.
@joshualandry3160

@@nightinggale6470 PetSmart is hardly the devil. There are much, much worse places to go.
@nightinggale6470
@nightinggale6470 2 года назад
@@joshualandry3160 you clearly don’t know much about PetSmart, they’re one of the worst places you could get an animal from. They get their animals from mills. They usually have terrible husbandry and frequently sell sick animals. They absolutely should not be supported. If you do a little bit of research it’s easy to dig up tons of dirt on them.
@joshualandry3160
@joshualandry3160 2 года назад
@@nightinggale6470 Wait until you learn that most "mom and pop shops" get their animals from the same vendors. The hate really isn't justified. I think it is also fair to point out that Emily from Sake Discovery used to work at one and she has no issues about shopping there.
@nightinggale6470
@nightinggale6470 2 года назад
@@joshualandry3160 hence why I said reputable local petstores. Some are shitty, some aren’t. Just need to find out where they source their animals before buying from them. And even if you can’t find a good local pet store, you can find a reputable breeder or an animal being rehomed. Does Emily have no issues with buying supplies from PetSmart, or live animals? Regardless, Emily isn’t the best example of doing the right thing. Many of her setups are inadequate and she has some misinformation, particularly in her ball python setup video.
