Thank you Cathie for continuing to teach on bitless riding. We are still bitless here in Cherry Plain, all four horses. I ride all my horses without a bit. I ride other people's horses without bits. So far, every single horse I've gotten on in the past few years (probably going on 30 at this point) without a bit has responded to commands. Who needs bits? Humans? Certainly not horses.
Hi Cathie I’m so blind to have found you . Thank you for educating people about the pain a horse goes through when they are dealing with metal in their mouth. Very interesting to see the actual skeleton of a Horses bone Spurs caused by a bit. I did not know 50 years ago when I had my first Horse , that we could ride bit less . I will be getting my second Horse in a month . He will be 4 months old and will never know what a bit feels like . I am really learning from your Videos. Please Post anything you have on Weanling . All I have is a soft Weanling Halter for now . Some brushes a hoof pick and grooming spray . He is a Gypsy Vanner Cross Paint / Percheron 💜🐴🙏💜
Thank you so much for this education. I wish so many more people would be open to it. So often I hear that bits don't hurt. How can metal not hurt? I was trained with a bit and so often times focus on soft hands but inevitably I end up bracing at times and this causes more pressure on the poor horse's mouth. I'm working on myself so that I learn how to use bitless bridles when I have my own horses. Unfortunately, I don't know of any lessons that are offered without using a bit. What a shame.
Your welcome. Yes even bitless I have to remind my students to soften their hands. I have to remind them to release the reins when they ask the horse to stop.
Hi Cathie. Wish you were closer to Florida! I have given up on my horse. Unfortunately I don't have what it takes and I don't wanna get killed. Lol. He has a real problem with women. Bit the vet, woman, kicked a girl in his stall, both feet... he bucks under saddle for anyone... Walks off at mounting block... food aggressive.. Kicked the crap outta the chiropractor, woman, Attacked me on Sunday like a pitbull... He knows I'm afraid of him and he's getting worse of course. I have noticed that discipline doesn't work with him... He's a 10 yr old. Appaloosa/Morgan cross gelding. Thanks in advance for letting me vent! Lol. You're great!
Wow, where did you get this horse? How long have you owned him? Why did you take him on? So many questions....Please don't ever get on him. Walks off at mounting block... You should not put a leg over this horse ever..... please find him a good home on the other side of the grass, unless there is a trainer that wants to take him on, one that deals with these types. No one else needs to get injured, and no one should get killed.
@@bobcatfarm We rode him twice BEFORE we bought him . He didn't move an ear when we got on him. I got him 2.5 months ago. Maybe he was drugged. Who knows. He's pretty mean when asked to do something. He perfect for Farrer, a man.. Any woman who tries to work with him , he attempts to bite or kicks. It's crazy. My trainer said he may have been abused by a woman. Thanks for your reply. Will find him a great home. He's perfect with my 3 y r old grand daughter. And men Lol
