@@thadood4373 Search Bon Jovi live in Cincinnati for a song called "Drift Away". All 5 of them sing and because there's only a piano accompanying them, you can distinguish which one sings what. There's lot of clarity and of course its amazing.
Yeah, David and Alec's falsetto/head voice combo was amazing. Jon sadly lip synced the whole key change ,because his voice was very damaged and shot by this point of the tour
Agree, but part of the reason songs are considered worse nowadays is because it used to be costly to make a song, so you’d only do it if it was really good. Now all you need is a smartphone, making music easier to write
@@debishop3359 No, that would be in the early 90s when even Bon Jovi changed their style by the time "Bed of Roses" came out. The late 80s was the peak of hair bands.
Not that eternal, because this was literally one of the last years he could even sing it. It’s been lip synced or ignored since like 1989. That’s by far the earliest I’ve ever seen a rock artist have to change their act for loss of ability.
Amazing energy, Adorable faces, Great voices, Wonderful talent.. I could kill for Bon Jovi! It's so sad I wasn't born early enough to witness their glorious years.. I wish I was born during their reign in the music industry..
This is one of the best performances ever, from any band never mind Bon Jovi He sings this songs the way it is supposed to sound, and he Kills it at the end, amazing. The energy this is when they were so hungry to be the biggest band in the world.
i can understand jon can't sing the high parts, touring a lot and singing with such energy can put strain on your voice. so yeah. still the best vocalist!
Jon shows that he's the ultimate showman at the end of this song when he and Ritchie are side by side front and center! There's no doubt that Jon was a natural and had many years of performing under his belt even prior to this performance, grinding it out in the club scene. Great performance...to have seen them live back then was even better. I saw them open for the Scorpions during first album, then saw them open for Ratt during second album and then saw New Jersey twice in the same month and the last time I saw them was during the Crush album tour. I was 15 the first time I saw them, standing right in front of Jon and he ruled that civic center from the moment he hit the stage! Best front man going back in the day...hands down!
I'm so glad this is out there! I saw their tour in 1987 and was beginning to think I was have a false memory of him coming in from above the crowd. :) It was so freaking awesome!
This is the best Livin’ On A Prayer performance in Bon Jovi’s history, but it’s so sad this song killed Jon’s voice. You can hear he’s singing it with difficulty.
This song is a voice killer. Epic, eternal performance right here, a true gem from a great singer. I understand the urgent need of a key change and lots of vocal expedients, though. It is just phisically impossible to mantain this level!
This solo is a beauty, and i do have ear, to hear the beauty of novembe rain first second and third solo, sweet child o mine, welcome to the jungle, mr brownstone, paradise city, slither, fall to pieces, guns n roses, snakepit, velvet revolver had slash to play for them and he has written beauties of solos. Thats my opinion tho, as i support both richie and slash.
@@paulbrandano3477 My mom saw bon jovi live at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena on the 18th of July, 1 month before this performance. There is a audio recording of the livin on a prayer performance from that concert on youtube.
Back then when I was a little kid, my uncle has a cd or vhs "I can't remember" of their concerts of 80s era with amazing aerial effects like they were flying.
Everyone is at their best during their prime. Most just fade away, never to be seen or heard again. When someone hangs on as long as Bon Jovi (Rolling Stones, The Diamonds and others from the 60's), you just have to enjoy them for what they were, what they are now, and what they'll turn into in the future. Nothing stays the same. Voices change, bodies change, the ability to jump around and put on those awesome shows change, and you either change WITH them, or just watch the vintage vids here.
wow!this song really make me go wild. this is the best live Livin on Prayer .the AWESOME part, the key change with that explosions, really rocked the crowd. long live Bon Jovi the best!
One of my favorite things about the band itself was that they could sing as well as Jon! Do you hear those back-ups?! Jon barely sings during the chorus I mean this whole group is just phenomenal!
he's not singing the chorus, it was david bryan. in the original version of this concert, you can hear the playback. that track was removed from the video. for that reason in 2:54 you can see Jon moving his mouth, but without voice. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vdjLO_uydW4.html checkout this video, its tha same video, but with the original FM Broadcast from this same concert. see ya~
So, we gonna talk about how at 1:18 he holds the mic out for the entirety of the bridge, but the voice continues? Or at 2:54, Jon’s voice cuts out at the exact moment David leans away from the microphone? David carried that band for so long, always covering for Jon whenever he blew his voice again. It’s a crying shame he’s not more recognized for it.
@@FighterBJ his voice was destroyed. He could still sing lower but whenever he tried to sing LOAP or other high notes, only this weak falsetto came out
For 1:18, when he holds the mic out, those voices are David's and Richie's singing the whole bridge, and after that, the whole choruses and key change are sang in their entirety by David
