The Glycerin is my favorite Brooks shoe. I have decided to keep it in my rotation and I will continue to buy the previous year’s models as they go on sale. I got my 20’s for $80 and I look forward to getting the 21’s when they come on sale. They are very comfortable and they will last a lot of miles. I feel that I truly got a great value for this shoe that will probably get around 700-800 miles of wear. Great review of the Brooks line.
Would you recommend the Glycerin 21 for a 3:30ish marathon? I can't really justify spending super shoe money, so I'm hoping to find a comfy and affordable alternative that won't slow me down too much.
@@drewman747 I guess it also depends on your weight, your personal preference, foot shape, running technique/biomechanics, etc… I’m giving the Adizero SL2 a try. Seems like it might offer the right combination for me in terms of weight, energy return, support, cushion,…and its a bit cheaper than the Glycerin too.
Good video mate I think you’ll like the ghost max 2 as you like the superblast… out in the summer along with Hyperion max 2 which will also be a banger ❤ keep up the great work see you in London
Great video! Love my Glycerins GTS, but you're absolutely right. Not a speed shoe. Hope there's a New Balance video in the pipes! 🎉 And one on Altras would be super interesting ❤
How’s the editing for Sarah’s video(s) going? That’s me being hopeful adding the “s” that it’ll be more than one! You mentioned she was going to start posting again, starting with the vlogs of her recent races but I haven’t seen anything post to her channel yet. I love your videos, but I really miss her badass woman ultra runner content. I am slowly increasing my distance with my eye on ultras in the future and finding her videos when she first started her channel helped get me into running.
I have the adrenaline. Very comfortable and supportive plus the 12mm drop helps out with my current walking/running pattern due to a knee and ankle injury
Great video. Have you ever reviewed shoes from Topo and Altra? It could be nice to see something from the opposite end of the scale (wider, lower stake etc.)
I do regret #Brooks are no longer sold in my country. The most durable brand I've ever run with. Hopefully I still have 3 brand new pairs in their own boxes... Really a pitty! #ComeBackBrooks
Just got my Hyperion Max and I’m absolutely obsessed. I think about it all the time and it makes me want to run more. I’ll probably order it in another color or two just to make sure I have some extras.
Love the adrenaline 21 and 22, 23 is great but the laces are too short. Going to try Glycerin gts after watching your video. Thanks, Ben! Exelent video! From a brooks nut
I currently own three pairs of Adrenalines. Two of them the laces are the perfect length. But for one of them, the laces are way too short. I'll need to change the laces out. Not sure why they have such inconsistency with their laces. But I love the shoe itself!
Ever since I got into running I’ve always stayed with Brooks. As someone with flat feet they’re extremely comfortable and I couldn’t see myself going to any other brand. I came to this video because I’m trying to find a Brooks shoe that’s good for people with flat feet but also good for marathon training/racing since I’ll be doing one in October. Currently I have the Adrenaline 23’s & though I’ve stuck with that model for awhile now I’ve also tried looking at others like the Glycerin Stealthfit or something else
I have flat foot like duck so always hard to find wide running shoes. I should just do swimming😂. All(almost)good runners have small and short foots, I have not Euro 47. And don't like high heels shoes. Drop about 6mm is for me. 12mm is like running downhill on flat surface. My nails get blacked too. So some specs are really important. We are not same anatomically. And we have cold winter...🇫🇮.
Yeah my feet is designed for swimming not running😂. And I have black nails(second and third toes) only right foot not left!?🤔 Shoes are right size and have many brands for different purposes...
Great review as ever Ben, I just cannot get excited by any shoe in the Brooks range, they are all good, some very good but there always seems to be a better comparable shoe in another brand's range
When i got my new shoes at the store, i slipped in the ghost 15s, and it felt very good. Did not regret buying them. Hold up a long time. Over 300kms done in them, and you dont really see it. Even the sole seems untouched even with my weight >100kg on it
I started running at around 103 kg (now down to 90) and the Brooks Ghost as well as Divide 4 are perfect for heavy runners. I once tried a NB fresh foam X 840 which was way too mushy for my weight. But I also love my old Asics J33.
I’m still trying to like my Ghosts. The drop makes the forefoot feel under-cushioned, and the midsole is a bit too firm and not particularly responsive either! Underwhelming so far…..
@@LARKRunningUK The Ghost 14 is a winner. I still wear them in 2024, as a 3 year old superseded product still available new from Brooks at a discount. That said, my 13s broke in after awhile and were also excellent, but the 14s are better.
Great video. I'm new to running I'm on week 15 on coach to half marathon 😅 week 12 I did a 14 mile run. Each week I do 2 x 8/10, 1 x 5 and 1 x 2.5 sprint. I do a monthly big run last one being my 14, next month I'll just go with what I feel. I use Adrenaline gts 23. On my big run I get a bit of runners knee towards the end and depending on gradient. Today I added glycerin gts 21 into my rotation and to use for my "longer" runs for extra cushioning. Watching your video I'm unsure now cuz many say say it's more of a long running shoe uve said more short recovery? Am I reading too much into it ? 😅
Question for you, when you’re saying the Glycerin isn’t good for faster paces, are you talking about a specific fast pace? I’m a new runner, only running for a year, and my 5k pace is around 9:30. Because I’m thinking your easy run may be my mile pace 😂
Thanks Ben. Great, honest reviews! 👏 I use the adrenaline for my easy shoe but might try glycerin after hearing this. I've considered buying the hyperion elite but the masculine colours put me off. 🙈
#MexicanGreetings! Great review! Super high drop, soooo I think that the best shoe brand to be reviewed next would have to be Altra! From massive to zero drop! 😅
Ben Parkes is correct when it comes to the Hyperion lineup. Do NOT wear them every day but do leave it be for 48 hours. I have an OG Hyperion tempo ($ 65.00 sale) and I learned the hard way about them when I bought my first pair.
I love the Glycerin 20 Neutral--for those looking for a bargain, the 20s are still out there for very reasonable prices! I actually wear them for racing as well as training. I like how quickly I recover from my long runs from them. I used to wear the Adrenalines, but I found them too rigid--I don't really need a stability shoe, I guess. The Ghosts didn't offer enough support for me.
I find brooks sneakers to be a bit longer then normal shoes I’m a size 9 and I have a wide foot and I usually go a half size up with a wide sneakers and I got a pair of brooks adrenaline 21 and it was a half size to big only pair of sneakers that didn’t fit perfectly in 9 1/2 I almost never wear a size 9 because I always feel a little bit tight in the toe box
