I can run at various cadences - from 160BPM to 185BPM - BUT my HR follows my cadence. If I want to run at a low HR , it has to be when running at a lower cadence.
For those who say that they cannot physically run "slow and easy" - they actually can except they don't know how to!! You "should" be able to run on the spot - IF you can run on the spot then you can lean slightly forward and run slowly with the same stance a foot landing. Stop striding out .

In Berlin we have the 100 Mile Ultra on the old path of the wall around Berlin
I'm suspicious about this model. I had two pairs of the previous Zegama shoes and, in both cases, the upper broke where the outside fabric material meets the Nike's trail logo. The logo material is less flexible than the fabric, does not let it wrinkle as it wants when the shoe bends, and ultimately cuts it. This happened to me both in the left and right shoe, in the two pairs I had, after not even 400k. The shoe was great, but I need more durability to feel OK buying it even on sale.
I listen to DJ Kadenz mixes on soundcloud, drum and bass mixes at 180bpm, and the same mixes at 174bpm and 168bpm (good for those working up their cadence). Got a sub 90 half marathon thanks to one of the mixes!
Hey Ben, I bought your $14AUD program for a sub 1:30 half marathon about 11 weeks before my race. Stuck to the program and yesterday's half marathon in Joondalup, Western Australia was completed in 1:28:20. Bargain price... Thanks for the guidance.
I think its worth mentioning that recent research has discussed the injuries from max stack height shoes due to the lack of natural resistance. I know its the current trend but theres some research suggesting the lack of resistance is causing weaknesses through the leg joints and into the hips. Plated shoes arent for beginners, and if a shoe recommends them they are seeing pound signs rather than helping.
ZoomX crumbles apart after 3 years. Yes i know 500km is the most use a person can get with running, but using casually afterwards and midsole breaks down in my invincibles. No more Nike for me.
First time buying a proper running shoe since I was in the high school track team and they are amazing for standing all day at work! Now I can finally do math without worrying about the pain in my legs! 🙂
Practical, doable coaching, cheerful, easy to listen to and follow! Runner for 30+ years. Will be 70 in June, "baby" of the 70+ age group!😅@fortpapalia
I've got an 80K very hilly trail in 2,5 weeks. Currently in what I would consider as mediocre marathon shape..., road racing... But I'll just strap on the backpack with 2 kg's more weight than during the race, head to forrests and do some every day slooooow distance running from 10K to 52K, keeping extreme focus on eat, sleep, active recovery and hip strenght. It's a hard push just a month after CPH Marathon, but I try and survivie on experience and patience and staying away from injuries, and I have no intentions of some super-finish-time, PR or anything crazy. Just having a good time. It's after all just a marathon with a long warm-up 😀
I decided to buy a pair because 1 star reviews and your dislike. My foot is super narrow. And this shoes too soft. Its been 4 month using this shoes. And i love it. And for v12 version now feel like a crap. My english is bad sorry.
Ever since I got into running I’ve always stayed with Brooks. As someone with flat feet they’re extremely comfortable and I couldn’t see myself going to any other brand. I came to this video because I’m trying to find a Brooks shoe that’s good for people with flat feet but also good for marathon training/racing since I’ll be doing one in October. Currently I have the Adrenaline 23’s & though I’ve stuck with that model for awhile now I’ve also tried looking at others like the Glycerin Stealthfit or something else
