I needed a new cell phone plan and luckily ran across your RU-vid videos. I ended up using a company in your spreadsheet. I tried to give you credit by going to the company through your site. I don't know if you got credit because I had to restart the process about six times even though I was working with the company. But - recently I spoke with a number of sales people and they were excited to see your spreadsheet on cell companies. I hope that ends up helping you.

Thank you for adding Republic Wireless, TextNow, and Project Fi. But from my testing and experience I still feel Textnow Wireless is the best paid offerings on a budget. No one should be spending over $30 on a single line. So TextNow at 3GB of LTE data and unlimited 2g should be more than enough. At $27.99? That's hard to beat anywhere! Using Sprint network or TMobile network. You always have WiFi to fall back on. Never understood why people hate Wifi. They even offer WiFi only plans. Crazy! Even their $19.99 plan is hard to beat. You see that. These haters.

For an emergency phone in the car, I use Tello's pay-as_you go plan at 3 cents/min. for voice and 1 cent/text. There are not recurring charges and balances roll forward indefinitely (at least currently). The minimum account funding was $5 but now appears to be $10. They gave me a $10 credit for switching. Brought my own old phone and they provided a new number free. No problems. Couldn't find a cheaper plan for my needs.

There is also Total Wireless that works alright. They run on Verizon towers and for $25 + tax you get unlimited talk and text and give people a small discount if they have it set up to have automatic payments.

I tried “Wing” but customer service was not good. So I suggest going to “Ting Cellular” I’m happy with 50 gbs yes 50 gbs of data plus wi-fi calling and personal hot spot for $45. Plus tax. Having a Cellur carrier in 2019 is like having a relationship if you’re not happy with one you just move onto the next one. I’m very happy with Ting plus customer service is very important to me

If you somehow need less than RedPocket's $10 plan, SpeedTalk's $5 plan is not bad at 100 minutes, 100SMS, 100MB 4G and .02 cent overages. Truphone is good too (9c outgoing MB, texts, and minutes, free incoming), though automated SMS (to activate Google Hangouts, for instance) has been buggy. Redpocket's a hell of a deal though.

To follow up, Redpocket's best offers are on eBay. $55 (when on sale) or $60 for the whole year for the intro plan. I've since switched. I use the GSMA card since the coverage is the best. Look up "Redpocket 360" and it should bring up redpocketstore. The one Doggett mentioned is ~$7.50 ($89 on sale, $99 for a renewal) monthly if you want the 500 minutes/texts/MB. It also beats Cricket if you pay this way. $90 ($85 for sale) for 90days unlimited talk, text, and 5GB 4GB LTE. If you can live with 2GB, it's $249 for 360 days.

Stetson, Have you looked at TracFone recently ? I got a monthly unlimited talk/text pre-pay plan with 2-GB data for $15 + tax to replace MintSim this month, for $16.17/month. Great coverage across my Midwestern state, and 4G-LTE data speeds scream, and then drop to 3G max usage reached.

FreedomPop offers 500MB free on Sprint and 200MB free on AT&T, not 200MB on both. The talk and text is 200 min and 500 text for free on both Sprint and AT&T.

Kudos again, Stetson! Turned me onto Wing. Found out my sweet LG V10 phone is manacled to Verizon and their $55/mo min plans. Wing is willing to swap mine with a compatible and comparable factory refurbished phone for free. Very impressed with their plans too. Ah, young mobile data junkies - didn’t mention their $12/mo, unlimited talk/text, 100MB+ LTE data plan. It’s all this ol' work-at-home techie needs with access to unlimited data at 100Mbps through wifi cable from a cheap, flat plan. Landline phone’s now plugged into voip/ata linked to a totally free Google Voice phone number. A good smartphone with reliable signal and mobile data availability is important in the mix to cover on-the-go use, power outage backup and make emergency calls. But at the home office, my smartphone is on wifi and handles calls through Google Hangouts.

Mint Sim sucks now. It use to have a fast data connection but now here where I live in Ohio it's super slow and apps keep timing out saying slow or no connection. I got the 5gb a month plan too. I might switch to Red Pocket

Thanks, Stetson. Very informative! One thing you didn't mention about Project Fi and Republic Wireless, is they offer service on all 4 major carrier networks, actively switching between them real-time, to optimize local phone reception. They offer affordable plans, but expect to buy an expensive new phone too. They only support a very short list of compatible models - not surprisingly, all the ones they sell. They send the sims for free and encourage people to try them in their used Android smartphones. But you can't get help with any phone not on their approved list. They say to reduce their technical support burden. IMO, it's because Google and Republic Wireless are in the business of selling new phones! Also, even though Republic Wireless' plans are less expensive, their phone finance plans are only for 12 months with interest. Project Fi is offering 24 month, 0% financing.

Awesome video Stetson, but keep in mind with Sprint the MVNO coverage is different than its main coverage. Which can leave you without coverage in some rural areas that you had before with Sprint.

I think Project Fi uses US Cellular, not Consumer Cellular. I thought Consumer Cellular was an MVNO.

Republic does not work like google fi. They do not switch between carriers simultaneously. They use both but you have one or the other. I hope in the future this will be a feature.

Usmobile's super lte (Verizon) network wasn't compatible with my Unlocked Samsung galaxy S8 plus. They sent me sim without knowing this and caused me to temp lose my number after routing etc. Carefully check phone compatibility on ur own before switching networks!

I don't think your comment about Republic Wireless is correct. They used to be Sprint-only, but went TMobile-only with the 3.0 plans. So it's RW's single network versus FI's three networks and overseas coverage.

NateB they still have both sprint and T-Mobile. It is one or the other. If you buy the phone through them the carrier will be assigned to you that will work best in your area. If you bring your own phone then you automatically get T-Mobile.

I've had Republic for over 5 years and wind up paying only about $12 a month total. I've hit customer service many times, they reply quickly and solve problems. That is if you have an issue you post it and they come up with a solution within a day. I say this still using my original MotoX ver1, so I have had issues but everything still works well.

I’m not exactly sure, but I’ve read somewhere that H2O started capping their download speeds at 8mbps, just like Cricket. If it’s true, you might wanna note that in future videos.

I hate to correct you on H2o wireless, their $20 plan with 1gb of data is for only new customers and lasts for 60 to 90 days and then your data is reduced to 500mb a month. Please, make a comparison video of red pocket on verizon vs pageplus or any other carrier.

If you live in rural area and your cellphone doesn't support the B12 (700 MHz) band, don't expect it to work... MintSIM has an analytical Coverage Map.

Ok first thing is first I hope a lot of people see this, so mint is indeed best value for price but right now someone is selling 45 dollars worth of h20 4 gigs unlimited text and talk for 8 dollars. That’s right 8 how u ask probably because they buy so much in bulk enabling them to do that and if that’s not enough there is someone selling tracfone with 6 gigs for 15 and if ur like these ain’t shit I use 47+ gigs each month (even thou that’s just crazy) I’ll just pay 70 dollars and move on well actually att used to offer hotspots to unlimited users but no one really used it so it’s not all that available anymore but if u unlimited truly unlimited u can buy a 3 dollar sim and pay att 30 but this is just a gig offer no texting or talking but that shouldn’t really bother u this is all happening on eBay btw just never go to the store go to eBay it’s typical cheaper

Your best bet is to buy them unlocked. Otherwise you could consider selling your locked one and purchasing an unlocked one. I’m not currently aware of any reliable unlocking services.

I use my ZTE axon 7 mini and have Freedompop and TextNow for the price of one mid-range plan. Lol 😂👍 I have 700MB free for life on my At&t service (Freedompop) and have the 3GB plan on Textnow or 1.5GB plan. Lol 😂👍 win win

You totally missed sprints one ever Tizon may have for Virgin Mobile where if you have an unlocked iPhone you can get six months of unlimited everything service for six dollars total one dollar a month last year they were doing one year for one dollar which was about nine cents a month after taxes you can’t beat that on any other network for anything else yeah it’s Sprint but I always normally use Verizon but I signed up for that plan to try it out and I can honestly say considering I travel to for particular places in all of those places have good Sprint coverage on top of Verizon it’s more than worth the savings for that year once my year end if they don’t renew it and have that plan again I’ll go back to Verizon but you should of mentioned virgin mobiles plan cause that’s an But nominal plan that many people could sign up for
