I ordered one and I think it's coming in a few weeks. This'll be my first custom and I'll be modding and lubing it myself instead of buying a prebuilt. This video makes me even more excited!
@@BigWhiteCloud I have carpal tunnel in my left hand so I can’t do full typing test.. I literally said it 3 times in the video.. watch it and then make a comment.. 🤦🏻♂️
@@AustinPegoda I am really sorry for your hand, but, apologies, that's not the case here, just hit the keys a little bit harder with your right hand to make it sound more realistic I dunno. This one didn't sound realistic, did it? Also, why shouldn't I comment if the comment section exists for everyone?
omg i love the 1st keyboard. the design reminds me so much of my ancient barbie pixel educational laptop 😂 that toy laptop built me up so much lol so nostalgic
As an owner of the Feker IK75, I love this thing. for my whole entire build (the board, switches and keycaps) it was only 180$ I used to daily drive a GMMK pro, but this thing sounds and feels so much better. all I can complain about is that I dont understand how to change the rgb settings (which is entirely my problem). if you're wondering the switches are Tecsee carrots and they sound so good on this thing stock, they sound way too good lubed. for the price this is the best starter/budget build I could recommend. If this board ever comes out in a TKL format I would be spending all my money on it instantly.
This is the best IK75 review video I've seen so far. I just want to ask though, is it safe to add thick padding on top of the battery? I'm torn between this, the Keychron Q1 knob, and the GMMK Pro. The IK75 is s solid contender not only because of the price and connectivity, but it comes with so many freebies as well. I think it'd be great as an entry level. Still, it's fairly new so there aren't a lot of reviews yet, and I noticed that no one's really tackled the battery. I've been comparing it to other wireless mkbs, and it's the only one running on 8000mAh. I'm really worried about it overheating or bloating up over time.
@@avuci Thank you! I took more time to think about it, and I might just settle with a wired Q1 knob to be on the safe side. I don't think the IK75 is QMK and Via compatible as well, so even though it's good as a budget keyboard, it might not be the best option for long-term.
@@dylan_co1683 I want a wireless option and 8000 mAh sounds like a dream, but does that pose a big risk to the keyboard overheating and lighting on fire? I definitely don’t want that to happen but I also want to mod it by stuffing stuff inside. I would definitely go for more premium options but I don’t know of any premium custom boards that have wireless connectivity.
Have watched feker ik75 addictively but this is yet to beat as this has the most well-modulated voice and a good how to guide- on how to build it *Watched it all before my birth month august but just the end of september is where I placed my order so I am on my rerun watch marathon again lmfao
Ngl as I was looking through the comments, the best thing about this legend is that he actually reads comments. If you want to be a good and respected ytuber, keep it up and keep on reading comments! The videos r the 2nd best part Jkjk they're still insane
Yeah man that’s for the kind words! And honestly if you take the time out of your day to wright a comment, I wanna do the same.. it’s kinda getting harder because of the amount of comments but I’m always gonna try 😂
Do you believe that the medical wrap made a difference for the keyboard? I'm thinking of doing the same for my q2 when it arrives. Will definitely call it the CG mod when i finish it 🤣
😂😂 yeah I did a comparison of it with and without and I’d definitely helped with the hollowness.. so I say you should do it! but I haven’t done it on a lot of boards so I’m not to sure what the outcome will be but it’s worth a shot 😂
Hey CG, I was looking at this board but I also checked out the akko 5075b plus v2 they both look like very nice boards but I think the akko board might have it beat on the actual gasket off the bat, I was interested if you had any experience with the 5075b and if you would recommend either of the 2. Really nice build and it sounds sooo good, like damn, nice job 🤟
Awesome build, love a budget underdog that comes out swinging. Nice and thoccy. Beautiful video man. Love the style and your character and personality coming through in the edit. Keep it up!
so what i found the issue with the gasket mount in this board to be is the three support pegs in the middle of the case, i dont wanna pull the trigger but i think if they were shortened/ removed the gasket mount would have way more room to flex. will do some research and report back. got my kit two days ago
Hey great video, among all the other custom keyboards build, this has caught my ears the most xD. Can you suggest which AKKO Switches would sound thockiest/deep as in the video? Green Matcha, Radiant Red, Jelly Black or Silver?
that's a reeaaaaaally nice sound! btw, about the lubing and CTS, if they are linears( or clickys, but we dont talk about clickys here nay nay nay)( just don't do it with tactiles, it will absolutely KILL the bumb and it will be basically a weird linear, but i mean, i kinda like it, don't tell anyone) bag lubing is a really nice option, obviously, won't be as consistent as a good lube job( fucking 3-4 years and this shit still sounds weird), but for people who don't have the time/some type of hand injure/disability( or the pacient tbh) is a great to have a better feeling and sound if minimal effort
This might be a crazy or dumb idea, but would it be possible to cut off the plastic stand offs from the base? That way it will at least "maybe" give some flex to the board.
Feker ik75 pro 3 change my mind Lol holy shit I didn't think it was actually gonna be the Feker ik75!! Holy shit that's too funny man! Translucent and polycarbonate is better than aluminum agree for sure, I got the same color as you. I got the gmk mito drop laser to put with this I like your caps gradient a lot though. Those more expensive models need to justify their existences
Fire video bro good job. That sounds so good. I wish i knew how to mod keyboards. I’ve been looking for a good, white 75% board with a knob for a minute now. It’s the last thing i need to finish my set up
You should make a video on the GMMK Pro, and then one comparing the GMMK pro and the Feker IK75! I think iy would get lots of views, because its helpful and I cant find it anywhere else. Also, a big thing I also haven't seen is a Feker IK75 Vs Next Time 75! I think it would be very good for your channel, and for informing people!
Hey, great video! I'm wondering if you have a list of all the supplies you need for this mod? I've never done a mod before but this video got me interested!
in the video you said that this board has north facing LEDs/hot swap sockets, but then the keycaps that you listed that you used were Cherry profile (which im pretty sure are notorious for sounding bad with north facing LEDs due to the keycas touching the switch). BUT your board still sounded amazing, why is that? i want to buy this board but i already bought Cherry profile switches so im nervous about buying this because of the North facing
I’m gonna be honest man.. it’s actually not that common that there is interference.. I’ve done so many builds and I’ve maybe experienced it three times.. idk if I’m just lucky but yeah..
I love everything about this board. Bu the one concern i am facing the the north siding leds which can cause lots of restrictions when it comes to keycaps.
It only causes problems with cherry profile and there are switches where there are no problems regardless if the keyboard is south or north facing, akko cs switches and all gateron yellow variants for example are short enough so they don't have any interference
My concern with all this packing material and tape that people are putting in their keyboards, is how flame retarding it all is compared to the stock foam they're taking out. If those batteries overheat or catch on fire then people are potentially creating bigger fire hazards.
Late to this, but was there any interference considering these are cherry caps? The huskies have a slightly longer stem as far as I know but not that many people talk about this so I've not seen a definitive answer all things considered.
Man, you nailed it! The sound, the looks, everything is perfect. Really nice build man. I am thinking of getting this board for my first kind of custom keyboard.
Do you think that applying lube is nessecary? Im want to build my first keyboard and im not really sold on buying lube yet (plus opening keys and spending all that time)
Sweet build. Just have a quick question tho. Do you think the sound would be drastically different if you did the tape mod directly to the pcb instead of on the foam attached to the pcb? Waiting my smokey black kit and can't wait to get my hands on it if this is as good as it gets. More power to your channel! 💪🏽
I think that phoam was really bad honestly but I was stuck to the pcb so honestly I don’t think it would have changed the sound to much but i wonder now if I could be wrong.. but I’m excited for you man!
@@AustinPegoda Btw, I plan on getting the same octopus keycaps to on rotation with akko midnights. Do you encounter any interference on these? I plan on using u4ts and gat ink black v2s on this.
nice nice! was this the keyboard in the short you posted about a thocky spacebar? either way, its really nice for someone who likes deep thocks, though im a clack guy myself
@@AustinPegoda i made a comment a few minutes ago that asked this same question but ill ask it here too in case you dont see that comment: in the video you said that this board has north facing LEDs/hot swap sockets, but then the keycaps that you listed that you used were Cherry profile (which im pretty sure are notorious for sounding bad with north facing LEDs due to the keycas touching the switch). BUT your board still sounded amazing, why is that? i want to buy this board but i already bought Cherry profile switches so im nervous about buying this because of the North facing great video though! as a first time viewer ill be back for sure
That is because of the husky switches. To encounter interference issues with north facing LED's sockets, you will have to have over 4mm total travel distance for the switch. The husky switches only have 3.9mm so they are in the clear, ALL AKKO switches shouldn't have interference issues as well according to "Consumer Tech Review".
Well me personally I don’t use a wireless keyboard so I don’t have the problem.. but with tape it’s safe you just need to get the right kind.. and I’ve been putting medical wrap in all of my builds and nothing has gone wrong 🤞
I hate the looks but I love the sound and quality of the video definitely getting a sub. Screenshot this now sooo when your famous I can pay you to build me a board.
I’m helping a friend build I keyboard, and I needed to know if it has 1000hz polling rate, but I haven’t found anything that states whether it does or doesn’t. So are aware of if it does or not (if you do I would appreciate it if you told me)?
