Hey, is the moitor still great? I want to upgrade to a bigger one, I currently have a 24inch 144Hz AOC Monitor and I want better colors and resolution.
Hi Byron, I hope you are well. I was wondering if you could help me? I bought the Xiaomi Ultrawide monitor after watching your video on RU-vid; however, I find that when connected to my MacBook Pro using a display port adaptor the colours look faded and inaccurate. How did you setup? Did you use HDMI or DP? What brand adaptor did you use? Did you have to play with the monitors colour settings? Kind regards, Zai
It’s catered for gaming because of high refresh rate and also its curved. If you are gonna use this for productivity or editing videos and picture or color correcting one issue here is that it’s curved and color isn’t that accurate if you’re in the deep editing kind of stuff. Plus you don’t really need high refresh rate if that’s mainly what you use it for. I wouldn’t actually recommend using this for those kinds of stuff but it can be used for the basic editing stuff. Just wanted to throw it out there.
Thanks for pointing that out, Nathanael! Super agree with you on this one. However, here in the Philippines, there aren’t much choices when it comes to display-oriented ultrawide monitors unlike in the states. Here in Manila, it’s mostly gaming monitors being sold here. Wishing for better options here soon! 🤞🏼 thanks for pointing this out too to a bunch of people asking in the comments here :)
ZeaLuha Visuals hi, not as good as Apple’s Retina Display. But if you’re not so particular on the details then it’s not as noticeable. Do note that it’s VA panel and not IPS. Feel free to subscribe btw! It would really help me out.
You bring a lot of positive energy and happiness during some really crappy times for so many of us. Good on you and good review! Subbed. (I would definitely be keen to hear more details about the monitor after you've used it more. For now, I'm off to find more reviews to provide that extra info.)
@@ByronUy Hey actually, one question I've been trying to find an answer to. I've heard that VA panels run warm to the touch. My office/geek-hub is very small, so I'm just wondering how much heat this monitor generates. Gut feel of course! I don't expect you to setup some kind of elaborate temperature testing laboratory....although it would be kinda cool...
Owen, hmmm never really noticed anything on my end. I think the laptop would be the first to heat up since the monitor is just for display 🤣 but no problems on the Xiaomi monitor on my end.
connect the pc and turn on perfect but the monitor does not give a signal, the xiaomi symbol appears then there are three gray boxes with Chinese letters and after that it stays black and the light stays blinking, I can not enter the settings
Are you still using it and any info how it's working? I want to get one in two weeks but I'm kinda scared of some reviews that say people have some problems with dead pixels and flickering.
Some content on Netflix displays 21:9, however, for RU-vid for example, a lot recommend downloading chrome extensions to auto-crop it but you do sacrifice some of the actual content. Hope this helps man! Feel free to subscribe for tech videos weekly ✌🏼
Seriously wondering why I only discovered your channel lately! Been into tech lately and these tech videos make me so happy! Hopefully I can make these sort of videos too! Hehe
Bro I love how happy you are keep doing what your doing I love your videos, you are a great person. Keep smiling man, your enthusiasm and happiness made me subscribe 😁😁
I personally don’t notice it THAT much unless maybe you really try to notice! Haha but Retina display is really different not only in terms of resolution but also color!
Vinz Matias, it’s not bad. But I don’t think it’s comparable to the MacBook Pro HAHAHA Apple just has something w really good color accuracy in my opinion.
Byron Uy Oh it looks similar with Movavi editor. Haha. Btw, if I let my husband watch this video, he would probably want to get that Xiaomi TV. Super cheap compared to other brands and great specs. You promoted it so well! Keep it up! 👍🏻👏🏻
Hi, MIKO TEEVEE, just adjust the brightness and it should be good! I find monitors way too bright on their default HAHA I set it surprisingly low. Feel free to subscribe for tech videos weekly to help me out btw! ✌🏼
What is that intro music, I cant find it in the description and when I click on link it makes me buy stuff so I need that song what is it, shazam is no help, nevermind shazan just worked, it just had to hear the bass
Hello I would like to ask what graphics did you use for your pc? Because I am plaaning on buying that monitor and I am skeptical wether or not the gtx 1660 super can handle that type of monitor. I am mainly using it for productivity like coding.
Hi Jeruel! I used my HDMI cable and a type-C dongle that had an HDMI slot for my MacBook. Sadly this monitor doesn’t have a type C port. Feel free to subscribe to my channel btw! Helps me out a lot! ✌🏼
Hello just bought one but we have problems adjusting the height of it.. We can drag it down but it will not stay in the height that we wanted... Any tips po?
Hi! is it compatible with a 2015 macbook pro, with 1.2 mini display port to 1.4 display port of the monitor? And is it single stream transport? Thank you very much :)
Not as accurate as the Retina Display of my Mac, but will definitely do the job. Maybe it will help if you’re also good at configuring the display settings. Feel free to subscribe if you liked the video, Paolo!
Hey, you may wanna check a company named iiyama, has a decent priced UW IPS 144hz monitor, only issue i found this monitor is if you get it from a retailer that may had it for long time on the shelf , you may encounter screen flickering at 144hz mode. But iiyama in a lot of countries has direct tech support, which insist getting your monitor and frimware update it for ya and entirely fix the issue. Check it out if you are in one of those countries just in case you would get a faulty product.
@@ByronUy Hey Byron, thanks for the great review. I am considering this mainly for document-type work with some gaming. Has it held up re: text scrolling, reading and eye strain?
bumwau, oh yeah! Without a doubt! :) I’m not also as heavy on gaming. Tested this w day to day work stuff and it didn’t disappoint! Feel free to subscribe btw! :)
Hi Byron. Can you try/make another video for this monitor to test the PBP and PIP feature for that monitor and see what it looks like for productivity sakes? Thanks!
With HDMI, the colours look very good and comparable with any high-end brand but with DP, the colours are way too off and the monitor looks less bright. Not sure if it is monitor's colour profile.
Hi man, just tested it and I don’t see a super evident difference.. if you ask me. Maybe this is highly dependent on monitor’s color settings like what you said :)
Good night, how long does the order take to arrive? I think mine is stuck, the latest update is: The international shipment has been processed in the export parcel center.
@@ByronUy i bought mine in banggod, and i am from Portugal. I was worried, but i think i will receive today. ^^ thought it got stuck because de address.
I got this monitor for my Mac after watching your review👍🏼 but I realised text looks bit blurred compared to my old 27” 1440p iMac . Do you hv this issue ?
Hi, Bryon. I am searching to buy the best ultrawide 144hz monitor. However, wherever I search I find the AOC one or Xiaomi one, and every video says "cheap" and "budget". I am simply looking for the best 144hz ultrawide, no price in mind. Which monitor do you think is the best?
Good review. I'm also planning to get this someday. Too bad I'm still broke right now and still working on how to build a system unit Hahaha. I hope it won't be out of stock when the time comes.
Bro I edit on After effects and I watch so much movies... are the colors any good? I know its not an ips but I wish it is like msi and benq va panels when it comes to resolution and colours
Hi man, hmm compared to my LG, I don’t see as much difference but of course it does depend on the settings. Maybe the best way is to compare based solely on the color specs? But for the price, this is a steal compared to the other monitors. I don’t see that big of a difference though if you ask me personally. Feel free to subscribe btw! Would help me out a lot.
Is available in physical stores for example in SM Megamall Mandaluyong please? There is warranty in physical stores or online stores?sorry.please understand.thank you
This one because that AOC uses TPV and has a response time of 5ms. Specs wise almost the same, maybe really just up to you and what brand you trust. Feel free to subscribe for tech videos weekly btw, would help me out a lot!
Uzhas Orion This monitor is definitely hard to beat in terms of value! It supports free sync, but have seen users find success with gsync compatibility despite not being formally certified!
I have seen that when some samsung and lg ultrawides are being hooked with 2 hdmi cables from 1 computer the screen will be tricked into using pbp. Can the same be done for this monitor? I would like to be able to split the screen into two some times. Really hope someone can provide me the answer 😁
I'm buying a new monitor to go with an upgraded gpu. It's so hard to choose!! xD This Xiaomi is 570 AUD(415 USD) in Australia and is by far the best value for an ultrawide

Sir, I have a macbook too and was planning to get the same monitor. Can the macbook take advantage of the monitor's refresh rate when connected? Thanks!
@@ByronUy I decided to pick a Samsung C32HG70 because the specs where more what I expected from a new monitor for myself for work/gaming. Don't get me wrong, the Xiaomi is wonderful, this is only personal taste.
@@ByronUy Could I power the monitor at 3440x1440 say 100mz though? Maybe high settings? I will eventually upgrade my whole PC, but just want a good screen now
AOG CU34G2X VS MI Xiaomi 34 I would not mind trying Xiaomi out but the fact that I cant buy it on amazon is a concern .I love there no hassel return or exchange system .Also this is Xiaomi first monitor so i feel like to me even though this looks solid I rather go with the AOG CU34G2X which is very similar to this with same pricing Oh and yes I live in the states .
LikquidDutch, totally makes sense :) this is xiaomi’s first monitor. However, really gotta give my hats off to them since they did good for their first. Thanks for that! Btw, feel free to subscribe for tech videos weekly! ✌🏼
Really great review! binge watch all your vids and really love it! Hope you can also make a review for affordable and on budget 4k monitors for designers and video editors here in Ph and where to buy them. Maybe a comparison with BenQ monitors, AOQ 27inch 4k or LG ultrafine? Keep it up and cant wait for more tech review. New subs here! 💪🏻👌
Hi Shanai, I think I can get my hands on a solid LG monitor soon. :) Keep on the look-out for that. I also super appreciate your kind words! :) Will try to keep up the tech reviews. Sayang lang, there are no decent resellers for high quality monitors here in the Philippines unlike in Amazon.
@@ByronUy will surely wait for that! Even got my notification on! That is really true, sayang talaga I've been searching for monitors good for designers and affordable new line ups are nowhere to be seen especially for brands like LG and DELL. Galleon.ph shipping fee is too expensive too and the shipping might also take 1-3 months. Not yet safe pa naman gumala sa mall to look if PC shops have stocks.
Shanai Porras you can try Kango express. The monitor that I got for review is otw with Kango. I’ll let you know if it’s any good! Fingers crossed too. 2-3 weeks daw :)
