On that note, if you can level your BM to 47, you reach a breakpoint where you can use dead riser with seeker aspic only

Oh man, getting a skill that high would be great, I die far too much for that! :P

This is golden content. So much valheim content is simple basics, let's plays, or pretty builds, but this is actually useful info. Thanks. I'm pretty partial to the wizard. It's just so much fun and the frosty staff gives decent crowd control so I rarely even have to deal with a baddie get close enough to hurt me. Plus that aoe fire!

excellent video. I play multiple characters with different play styles, but seem to have the most success with the one you call Barbarian, and the one you call Outrider. I use them exactly as you described in your video, but I had to figure this out the hard way. This video is a MUST SEE for players who want to branch out into different playstyles. 👍

Thank you! Definitely takes a bit to learn how to play each setup effectively. There were a few of them that started out from a very different concept, until I learned it wouldn't work.

Even though this is a year old, it's still relevant today (before venturing into Ashlands or Deep North). I like how you broke them up with diff play styles. As a solo player, I tried Barbarian (2 health, 1 stamina) style for a while but because of all the ups and downs I prefer the Assassin (1health, 2 stamina) with black metal sword, tower shield and ooze bombs in the mines and a crossbow and black metal sword everywhere else. I tried the knife but it didn't seem to do as much damage as the sword. I don't have the fenris armor yet but have been utilizing the padded armor (now carpace armor) with root breastpiece for pierce protection. Once I get one more black core, I'll be able to make the Galdr table and finally make magic weapons to try out the Outrider. Things may change though once I venture into the Ashlands. Only down side to all of these classes is you always have to eat after 25 min. lol

The Assassin is hard to beat, even early game the 2 stamina foods are phenomenal!

I play with one Eitr food with the staff of embers and it’s so good. You can stun with the atgeir and then launch two burning bludgeoning balls dealing double damage- *chef’s kiss*. Any Eitr build not playing with the elemental staffs is missing out

Good to know, running dead raiser, inferno, protection with lightening halberd. Two mana foods one health. Pretty effective, slow, but versatile.

Barbarian was my go to throughout most of the early game. Now i mostly go assasin, elementalist or outrider.

I've been playing with my gf who is tanking with 2 hp 1 stamina or the barbarian setup. She uses krom and mistwalker/round shield to keep her sword skill high. Spinesnap just for gjall. Full carapace gear and bonemass. I'm running either 2 eitr 1 stamina or 1 of each so elementalist or outsider depending on comfort level. Bringing all staves, himminafl for melee dps, frostner/round shield for knockback if I attract aggro. Arbalète for first hits and alternating with magic if I'm further. Carapace helm, eitr robe top, and fenris legs and a carapace leg switch. Started bringing eikthyr but before I was using yagluth.

@@quicksandriggs It is! We just beat the Queen... Well right before we lost our save. Fortunately we had a back up right before the fight. Did pretty well after we decided for her to focus on crowd control with an atgeir, so I'd be able to focus more on dps. Before that the fight was taking forever since I used all my mana on the broods.

I like how you put class name on them lol. I have same (main) class what you called elementalist, and now I have another char. Focused on Assassin. Do you think fenris and root chest is best on this? or carapace set? I would like to know your thoughts about this. Thank you for sharing this vid.
@quicksandriggs
@quicksandriggs Год назад
I honestly think root and fenris mixed is the best armor setup in the Mistlands overall, so if you aren’t needing Eitr regen I’d go with fenris and root. Carapace is good if you are short on stamina, but if you are confident in your dodge capabilities, parry and stamina management, I’d go for the speed!

@@quicksandriggs interesting outlook on knifeyguy play, I went with one piece of each, fenris legs, carapace helm and root chest just from trial and error play. The helm adds just that little extra armor without move penalty.

@@sailorgunsveteran5260 Definitely a good mix, no speed reduction on the heavy helmets is nice!

I always play solo so assassin is my go-to style. Gotta be able to jet since there's nobody to save me.

I have usually played solo, but I recently recruited two friends and am thoroughly enjoying playing coop through their first experiences with the game. We are a looong ways away from the Mistlands, but I am already seeing the potential to develop builds to complement our preferred playing styles. I am leaning towards a melee build with a focus on control. This will allow me, with my greater experience, to set the others up for effective DPS play. So do I go with the 3H0S0E (Guardian), the 2H1S0E (Barbarian), or the 1H2S0E(Assassin)? In my single-player games I always leaned towards the higher stamina builds (I share your opinion that stamina is king), but I am curious to know what others think. Also, note that ooze bombs give even the guardian the ability to deal with ticks. I love those things and will likely be using them extensively.
@quicksandriggs
@quicksandriggs Год назад
I would not play the Guardian if given a choice, since I like having some stamina at least. Barbarian would be a good choice for me if I was trying to play a tank, still a good setup even if you took a shield instead of strictly using 2h. Ooze bombs and bile bombs can be pretty fun too, if you plan to use them, I would think Barbarian would perform a bit better than Assassin since you'd be able to utilize the AOE and DoT to help out while stamina regened, whereas the Assassin would be much better off just swinging their main weapon more and wouldn't need as many breaks. I haven't tested either one with the bombs yet though, so this is all just guesses. I think using a crossbow and ooze bombs would be a neat theme for an Engineer type of class, utilizing all of the alchemy/mechanical things in the game (crossbow, bombs, ballista, traps) even though there aren't many at the moment. Assuming you are someone who likes to maintain a certain theme with your character and class.

I believe I covered all the food combinations in the game, do you mean create more builds/play styles using the same combinations?
