Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I've watched hundreds and hundreds of RU-vid golf videos. This one on bunker play is the best I've ever seen on the subject. I like Paul Wilson's focus on using the hips as the power source for the swing but nobody, NOBODY, can explain things as clearly and lucidly as you do. Danny, you're the best and I love watching you teach!

I got out of two traps today following Danny's instructions. I didn't have a chance to practice it first; just went ahead and did it. It worked both times with one ending up close to the hole. The other was a 2-putt, but way better than staying in the trap.

These tips has made me not fear sand shots anymore. I can't thank you enough as I had been struggling with this part of my game for years and now I am constantly getting up and down out of bunkers just about every time. OH Danny Boy!!! You took the sand shot and analyzed it the way no other instructor has!! By explaining the absolute necessity of getting the club grip very low and, at the same time, getting your stance as low as you can go, you have finally given me the vision of what a proper sand shot consists of....The very first bunker I tried your technique on today with a 60 degree wedge was a WINNER!! I've been at the game for a solid 15 years, play twice a week and, spend hours at the range...I have never had that sand technique explained in that manner...Thank you...

I knew a young man (not a tour level player) who was unbelievable out of sand near and around the greens. And he could do it all. You could call a shot out to him and he could make it happen every time. Short and run up, long and suck back, near or far. He would never give any hints about how he did it. His social skills were in the toilet. But what I noticed is that he ALWAYS carried a lot of clubhead speed. I mean a real lot. He swung fairly hard every time and/or released late for lots of speed. I think I see the touring pro's doing that too. They are so smooth however, I think it's more than we see. I think that is why we amateurs never seem to get there while pro's all make it look easy. Gary Player could control a 2 iron out of the sand around the green and sometimes demonstrated that. In fact he could do it with any iron in his bag. He too never gave any hints or tips. He just showed off like my friend. A close friend of his made it to the last round of the U.S. Open Qualifier at Bay Hill. I followed him around. He got it up and down out of the sand 8 times (every time) in 36 holes. I guess if you know how to do it, you know how to do it. I was impressed by that too. Unfortunately he had a very negative caddie and I think that cost him a spot in the Open. You gotta have a caddie that pumps you up, not puts you down when you make a bogie. You're only there because at times you're are a GD birdie machine.

Great tip Danny. My high school coach used to make us hit bunker shots with a seven iron. Once you’ve mastered that, hitting with a sand wedge was like cheating!

Loved your green side bunker drill showing the technique to hit a 4 iron out of the bunker. I have been using your tips and learned to glide my 59 degrees wedge ( not my 4 iron) by lowering the club and keeping it wide open to hit out of mostly hard pan bunkers on our course. I have also used your ball tip in the center if a rectangle (saw a similar tip to envision a ball on a dollar bill and gliding your club just under the length of the dollar bill). It works great. Thanks again for all your tips.

Took this lesson to the course yesterday and hit all my green side bunker shots beautifully up and onto the green with a soft landing near the pin. I had slipped into some bad habits (I think hitting too steep was one of them) over the past month or so, but this time I hit every bunker shot like you demonstrated in this video. Now I have totally regained my confidence for getting onto the green and into the hole! Thank you, Danny, for your very clear and easy to follow lessons!

I have been watching you're instruction for the past week, after I had a really bad game last week and I played like a 25 handicap player and not 10 as that's my handicap. I tried to change to many things and got a bit out of sink so I decided to watch you're channel because someone said to me you are a good teacher. This video is excellent...short simple instruction and practical demonstration. I watched this video for first time Thursday, played Friday morning and ended up in a greenside bunker on par 3 second hole. Drawing an imaginary rectangle around the ball, flattening a 64 degree wedge, I simply aimed to slice that top layer of sand under the ball and out the ball popped. So well, in fact, it got height and distance and went coast to coast..!! Third shot did exactly the same and put it four feet from the hole. Of course, best cure is not to go in the bunker in the first place but this lesson removes most of the fear ow.

Danny, wish I'd seen this Saturday, played with my son yesterday and was in a bunker similar to the one you're in and it took me 4 tries to get on the green and that was after a great tee shot on a par 3. Had I gotten out the first try, I could have parred the hole instead I had a triple. I was so discouraged. Thanks for a great video.

Thanks Danny When I was coaching juniors a few years ago, I used to tell them that the ball was a poached egg in the middle of a plate, when you play the shot take the plate, egg and everything. Once again, another terrific instruction. You know, you're the first one who truly explains what it means to glide underneath the ball. Wow. Looking fwd to dunking my ball and trying to get it out with your explanation clearly in mind. All the those other videos about using the bounce, how exactly does one use it. Not very clear until this one. Be great if you can do one about putting. Those dreaded 4 footers can really sink one's game. Looking fwd... Oh by the way, you're human after all....haha. Totally enjoyed your duffed hardpan shot

Hi Danny, tried these tips today on a challenging course with many bunkers, lots 6 feet deep. The easy steps with the open face, lower hands and the sweeping swing all meant one shot escapes from 6 bunkers today. Best ever bunker play for me, thanks for the easy to follow and implement tips
