Golf videos that will unlock your golfing potential
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On this channel I will bring you training that you can apply immediately to your game and your practice.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up...a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
So if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game...LETS GO TO WORK!
You are the most valuable person of all my subscriptions. #1 in my list! You have changed my swing and game play like i never imagine possible. I struggled with short distance iron shots, slicing, slice drives and chipping for so many years...... I found you while searching how to get more distance with an iron and stumbled upon your video teaching how to strike down on the ball, position, towl swing, etc. You have transformed my swing to what i only dreamed of for many years. Since then i spent so much time watching many of your other videos. Now, I only search your channel if I want to learn anything else in golf. Thanks a MILLION!!!!
11:20 Danny, doesn't this approach with the forearms lead the student to stall the turn to the left (for R-handed golfer) per Pete Cowen? Isn't what you're talking about taken care of with the proper R hand position at the top of the back swing, then maintaining that through the swing and down to the left inside and into the follow through? Thoughts?
I haven't tried this on the range yet, but I have a feeling this will help greatly. I know my takeaway is not ideal. My own daughter (who is a much better golfer than I) tell me all the time - Dad you are taking it back way too inside!.... Even before trying this out, I have been practicing the small motions of just taking the trail arm back and having my palm pointed 45* down. Then taking it to the top with the palm up. It seems like these two feelings are very natural for some reason. Like there is no effort in it! Like the arm and hand want to be in these positions! I can't wait to go out today and practice this with irons first then driver. Danny, I have to say over the past few months I have subscribed to your channel and I love your teaching style. Not only for the content, but for your passion. It really, genuinely comes across in these videos. Thanks again!
Great video as always! Can you please share with me when I'm suppose to hinge my hands. Many trainers of mine over MANY years have different opinions on when to hinge my hands but none of them have worked for me. I'm a senior golfer with chronic pain in my back, neck and elsewhere. I love to play golf but I'm at an infliction point whether or not I can continue to play due to my poor play. I've watched everyone of your videos and have learned a lot but my game is in a major setback mode presently. Thank you very much!
Danny, thank you for the video. I need clarification with ball position using fairway wood. You said at the beggining one and a half club from your left foot, but when you hit the ball you are more like in driver position with your feet. Thank you
Thanks for the video, I'm struggling with the bunker shots at the moment, thinning them or taking to much sand (driving me crazy), so I'm going to try this tomorrow and see if I can get a hang of it . Should you approach the bunker shots the same way for wet or hard packed sand? Some of the bunkers on my course feel like concrete.
Very similar, just remember that your impact in the sand will have to be different. For harder sand the club will need to attack a little steeper into the sand
The biggest help for me was to relax at the top. Me, and a lot of people like me will get to the top and try to create speed from the top. Gripping hard and turning hard. It didn't matter if I did all of the things to avoid hitting bad shots, I did anyway because everything was out of sync. As soon as relaxed and let my arms fall inside and increased the momentum until it was highest out front, I had no success. Nobody hits every drive straight but i hit my drive dramatically straighter and longer when I just let the club do the majority of the work. Just payed 9 yesterday and 6 of 7 drive were long and in the fairway or the short rough with easy access to the green.
So weird. Last year i had almost pga swing speeds but this year ive been hitting my irons better than ever but ive lost 20 yards on each. Maybe because im not swinging as fast as i was, but the strike and constistancy has been too good to want to swing faster. I just have a huge gap my 5 iron goes 170 and my 4 hybrid goes 210. Last year a smooth swing 6 was 180 idk what happened
Genuinely tried these when required today without practice and they worked. Such simple explanations and description. Well done and thank you. Never scored lower than 120 and got 97 today. Keep up the good work!
I am new to golf. I have played softball my whole life and I had no problems hitting my driver but couldn’t hit irons for the life of me UNTIL….this video! It clicked!! I even had a private lesson and it didn’t help. When I saw that the butt end was towards the target and the yellow stick motion was like a hard sweep it finally clicked. I hit my 6, 7, 9 and P irons with my daughters plastic golf balls and for the first time I had loft and distance. Can’t wait to go to the driving range.
This video was so good. I struggle with the bunker, hope I never get in it!!!However, I tried your ‘set and swing ‘ and it worked! I couldn’t believe it. I will continue to follow your advice. I so appreciate all your weekly videos!
Just won low gross in my golf league this week, thanks to YOU Danny! I’ve learned so much from your lessons that I feel like I’m finally swinging correctly after all these years - THANK YOU!❤️
I,ve been struggling with pitching for the last 3 years. Lessons with my local pro have become frustrating , I can do the drills he suggests but soon struggle when back on the course. This method works for me. I feel if I work on it , I will once again be able to pitch consistently. Thank-you
Hello Danny, please note you're using two definitions of low point position in this video: 1. from 1'05" onwards, you say the low point is slightly (which in the visual looks like three quarters of a golf ball) AHEAD of the golf ball 2. 4'45'' into the video, low point is visualised (as a line) directly UNDER the ball To my knowledge, a low point that is ahead of the ball would result from a setup similar to the compact sand shot you demonstrated: steeper AoA. Could you clarify, please? Many thanks for the video!
I swear this guy has a newer video saying you need to get more vertical, let the elbow fly a bit so you can hit more down, get your power moving downward instead of just rotational.
I 💯 say power comes from more up and down with the arms. I also say that the main responsibility of the arms is to move the club up and down while it’s the bodies role to take the club around. I don’t believe the golf swing is purely rotational. It’s not something I say in this video but if I left that impression I will look to do better next time
I was told - relax your body for fairway woods; it worked for me. Keep your left arm straight on the backswing, but just swing through in a relaxed fashion on the downswing. If you force it with the arms, you'll slice.
I’ve stopped watching anyone but Danny. His ability to simplify things is uncanny. Even in this video he was seeking to find a way to find a word picture for the move as he himself was learning it.
