start the car up, rev it high and keep your foot on the throttle flat, then hit the button that cuts ignition and sparks the tailpipe, hold the button until the revs drop and then release it before the engine stalls. rinse and repeat, you will get flames. I feel like you need to do this. the internet needs closure.

My Dad, may he rest in peace, told stories of he and his friends meeting up at the top of a hill outside of town with their Chevys and Ford V8s. They’d get going down the hill, turn off the ignition while leaving the car in gear, roll on for 8 or 10 seconds, then turn the ignition back on...and...BOOM! Dad let it roll a bit too long once and blew his exhaust clean off the car. Now that’s Old School!!!

Put a propane tank in the boot, run a gas line to the tail pipe and put the igniter right in front of the gas jet. Control the propane with a gas solenoid and use the coil you got with the kit.

We call it a trunk because we used to attach trunks (large travelling chests) to the back of vehicles before they had integrated storage compartments.

You could install a fuel injector after the catalytic converter.

Its the porcelain/ceramic portion of the spark plug that smashes windows! Smash the spark plug with a hammer then throw the white porcelain/ceramic bits and watch the glass explode!

Cutting the ignition momentarily while streaming fuel vapor into the exhaust is something I used to do when I was 16. It does NOT cause flames to shoot out -- but by pressing on the gas when the key was off for a second while in gear (carbureted engine) I was able to make the most wicked loud backfires when the key was turned on. That's how I got to buy my first glasspack muffler -- to replace to explosive damaged factory muffler on my 72 Subaru. But I did get a wicked sounding combination of exhaust -- 24" long glasspack with a funnel shaped tip that gave it a sound that could almost compete with a WRX. And the foam air cleaner to replace the stock housing gave the intake a fantastic roar at full throttle & actually gave it a couple of hp near redline. I used to enjoy barking second gear by leaving the gas pedal floored and speed shifting into second. I also used to jump it about 75' by crossing a downhill intersection at 45. Good times!

Back in the day, we did this the easy way (60s and 70s). We would take a sparkplug, attach it to the tail pipe. Run a sparkplug wire from the distributor all the way back to the sparkplug. Use a switch that would switch an engine sparkplug off and reroute it to the tailpipe sparkplug. The resulting no spark in the engine would dump the unburnt gasoline down the exhaust to be burned by the sparkplug int he tail pipe which is now sparking since we switched over to that one now. And because our big American cars all had humongous V8s (mine was a 7.7L or 455cui) the loss of one sparkplug was not even noticed. But the flames shooting out the back were impressive! I ran dual exhaust and sparked out both tailpipes! What a fireworks show that made at night...

First, in order for the flame thrower to work on those cars, you must first remove the catalytic converter. To achieve the effect of the flame thrower on the exhaust, this must be done. So much for that . 😉

Have you tried it on the road try getting to speed then turn on the switch so the motion of the wheels will keep the engine turning so the injectors should keep flowing from the momentum of the car will keep it from stalling

Catalytic converter will get rid of the unburnt fuel needed to make the flame at the tip of exhaust. Also sparkplugs should be 8-10 inch from tip for best combustion of air mixture.

As many others pointed out. The cat is going to catch all that fuel. That is its job. If you want this mod to work. Either gut the cat out ,or remove the cat and straight pipe in between. it will make fire then.

A special mod for special people.

Classic cars with carbs ran rich especially on decel without cats, so it would have been ideal on those. Otherwise you would need a small propane nozzle to inject some gas into the back exhaust. There are also different colors that can be bought for this.

For the sparkplug to break the window, u need to smash the sparkplug first and take the ceramic. Then throw the little piece of ceramic against the window. That should work (according to legends, never tried myself)

MightCarModz, @ the end of the video...You are suppose to break the ceramic section of the spark plug, then throw the pieces of the ceramic section of the spark plug at the window, you should see much better results.

@mightycarmods I know this video is now old but the fire drake kits do work and really quite well, I had a customer ask me to fit one (no idea why) to his R32 nissan skyline. I found you have to wire the box directly to the ignition of one or two of the coil packs so the engine will only cut those and run on the remaining cylinders. Once I'd worked that out the size of the flames created were actually ridiculous!! So much so that we had to install chequer plate steel into his rear bumper to stop it from catching fire haha. If you'd be interested to see some pictures of that I can email some across 👍😂. Love all your videos guys!!!

Nope, did it wrong. My mates uncles cousins sister took a star picket and bashed out the cat and then put the spark plug in the dump pipe. Your spark plug was too far back, and you only need a BBQ igniter and click it while on limiter

Okay fellas, I will tell you how to shoot flames. First you HAVE to remove your Catalityc converters, cats are use to clean anything bad from being released into the atmosphere. Now that you have remove the cats you have to straight pipe your whole exhaust. That means remove your mufflers and replace them with straight through pipes. After all of this, you install a two step rev limiter and tune your car to run a richer fuel mix. Meaning it will dump move fuel and it will get spit out before it can be ignited. You car needs to be warmed up and pipes hot. There you go. Edit: Removing you cats will give you a CEL (Check engine light) this will prevent you from passing emission. To get around this you can install a O2 sensor bypass.

I am fifty-six years old. The flame thorougher idea has been around even before I was born. My dad told me about kids doing it in the 1940's. I made a system from scratch that worked very well. Turning off the coil and burning the gas sent from the cylinders was never an option. Why would you do that? You can't drag race with your coil off. I used a small auxiliary fuel tank (windshield wiper fluid tank) connected to an electric fuel pump. The pump was hooked up in parallel to a DPDT relay switch that was wired to 'buzz'. In turn, the DPDT relay was connected to a coil. The coil is mounted close to the rear of the vehicle and connected to a spark plug. The plug is than screwed into a proper sized hole in the side of the tail pipe about twelve inches from the end. About six inches up-wind of that is fed in the fuel line with some kind of (restricting) copper fitting. To activate the system I used a momentary push button on my stick shift. A toggle switch on the dash would do just as well. A push of a button or a flip of a switch and FLAME ON ! WARNING ! Never use this around dry foliage and never when someone is standing behind the vehicle.
