ATTENTION: If you're in Phoenix, AZ, and want to have your tint done by Rick & the team call 480-863-9326 // When you call this number it lets Rick know that you found out about him from this video which will lead to us working together, create more videos and build more cars to share stories with you. Thanks in advance, I appreciate you stopping by this video. P.S. Cactus is the best in the valley, so you might have to schedule it 2-3 weeks in advance but it is so worth it, you only do Tint/Clear Bra/PPF once! Make it count.
Hey man- I’m starting a window tint business. I was looking to see what a good credit card would be for a business like this. Any recommendations? Thanks!
Awe damn I live in AZ but saw this too late but I have a sunroof that I'm wondering if I should get it ceramic as well? I have all my other windows ceramic even windshield just want to keep heat out, what you think
I have never seen that much attention paid to the edges of the window to make it a truly perfect fit- and I’ve had at least 10 cars professionally tinted for myself personally. That is amazing craftsmanship.
@@ruskibruski ok rusty did i say it was hard to do? I said it was long i don't do the walking of the parks pardon me sire. Js uber back and to no? 14$>1.4 walk
I’m a window tinter. If you want the 3M logo to come off you can use a magic eraser and some water and it comes off with such ease. The alcohol takes a lot more hard rubbing. Magic eraser works insanely easy
@@sebastian3004 technically, anything you rub on anything else is 'sandpaper'. The physics behind something like a magic eraser equates it more to the effect a clay bar has on removing contaminants from paint: it literally creates vacuum on the surface, which emulates friction, and pulls off foreign material. The level of abrasion is actually quite low.
Now that is a pro job! I just bought a new car and looking forward to get it tinted. I will also be getting the ceramic IR as well. They block out 85% IR and 99% UV rays. I won’t be using the 3M brand film but Suntek instead. They provide the same performance and have the same lifetime warranty.
@@chaselong7257 right, i meant the 5" as the brow. 35 on whole windshield is too obviously illegal in most states. I'm might get 50-70٪ ceramic on windshield.
@@emmanuelgutierrez8616 i have my whole windshield done for over a year im happy that the area im in doesnt bother you with tint at all almost every other vehicle has there windshield done
@@clashytoon2375 I'm about to get ceramic 75 on full windshield with a 20 at top bar. 40s ceramic all around (basically, trying to stay legal is Louisiana, the windshield isn't legal, but it's invisible at 75
I have a question, just had 3m installed on my car. the rear windshield is causing the light to look star like im hearing its due to the defroster lines. Is there a fix to this?
So at the dealership I work at we have a guy that comes in 4 times a week and does tint from a shop similar to cactus but you don’t choose what type of film just percentage does that still mean it’s cheap film
Can you find somewhere like this in Rhode Island for me? Lol. I saved money for the first time in tint and it’s graying. Looks GREAT from outside but not inside and now that I have the documentation for it here in RI I need something with quality for uv protection. Was diagnosed with cancer in June 2018
Sorry im not great at english from hearing. How dark you went with the tint on your mustang and which one you picked? Also which is the best from 3m to have nice look and have the best visibility while driving at the night time
I have to use my fog lights + regular headlights all stock. I should upgrade to led tho. Ceramic tint is easier to see thru but appears darker from the outside.
just had xpel best tint put on 930$ to take off and replace on my 2015 GT premium PP2 Got the car back and it was destroyed on the inside. Wish this guy was closer to Charleston SC. Like when someone has pride in their work.
I'm a detailer in Columbia SC let me know if you're in need of any services like polishing and ceramic Coatings my guy! Mike's Premium Detailing on Facebook.
He did but him putting dealership film kinda tilted me because I use top of the line film he should just put cheap tint I get what he’s trying to do he’s trying to shit on the other tinters around him to take their jobs but still
If hes the same owner from 2012 prob the best in town. Accidentally went to some place in TEMPE and shit work. Im heading back to him to fix the mistake. Hes also the best at headlight restoration. Google cactus tint and read the reviews. Worth the penny, dont cheap out. You wont save by going else where. I paid the same for a better job from cactus tint and headlights were included in the price. dope video!
I have a 2021 Jeep Compass and I was told that my back window & back seat windows have privacy screens on them. I want my tint ti to look Professional & Uniformed. Are they pulling my leg or should I keep looking for a place that knows what the hell they're talking about? #LifeInWisconsin. I'm about to pack a bag a head to AZ #CatusWindowTint
Looks like Rick does a great job - but @ 4:11 - doesn't he cover the lower part of the door where the "squeegie slobber" drops on the leather? Seems like a little prep with light plastic would keep this from dropping all over the door. Or, is this an option that you can pay for? Also, does he cover the dash to keep water runoff out of the vents, etc.? That said, I'm in the area and will likely visit Cactus for my new car (WHEN it comes in)!
That’s what I’m worried about. Last time I got a tiny job, I had to really clean out my car again. I always keep my car sparking, but geez. Just a little plastic mat would solve a lot of issues.
Hey cam, Great Video! Wanted to ask if when shrinking the film, is in between the film & window supposed to dry? Or do I need to be spraying it a bit more.
Funny I was gunna call that place Monday and looking around tint stuff this pulled up of course. Hoping they'll do my windshield so I don't have to myself 🙄
Crystalline is actually worse than the 3M Ceramic IR. Lot of places here in Texas are not carrying it any more because they have had failures with Crystalline and have rarely seen problems with the 3M Ceramic IR just if you are wondering.
How is it worse? Comparing the spec sheets, Crystalline supposedly has better performance (particularly IR rejection, but also glare reduction & IRER) at the same VLT level as Ceramic IR. Interestingly, Crystalline’s VLT seems to be heavily incongruent with the “titled” tint strength. For example CR 70 has 58% VLT. Why not name it 60 then?? Interesting, regardless. Tomorrow I’m replacing the crappy Rayno S5 that was (unbeknownst to me) put on my Tesla MS plaid, when I thought I was getting SunTek CIR. Shop had great reviews and I’d just moved to a new area, so didn’t have any known quality shops. I wouldn’t call it a scam, because it was rather cheap, and it was partially my fault for not verifying that they were applying SunTek, when I brought the car in. They, like many shops, seemed to have the attitude (at least customer-facing attitude) that Ceramic = good/best/“premium” option and all ceramic tint is the same. To them, tint is only differentiated by Ceramic/dyed/metallic and etc… disappointing. Anyway, I’ve since found a good shop, and am having the tint redone. Was going to do Crystalline 70% on the windshield, for a happy medium (58%) between true-70% and 50% VLT. And the higher TSER rating for Crystalline is a plus, because I suspect a lot of heat, discomfort, and etc. originates from the windshield (never had a tinted windshield before) and I’m looking forward to getting it to reflect as much solar energy as possible. Was going to get the rest in Ceramic IR, because Crystalline doesn’t come in the VLT levels I’m looking for (25% fronts. 15% rears & hatch window). Does that sound like a prudent call? Or should I switch the Crystalline windshield for Ceramic IR. My guy at the shop said he liked IR better than Crystalline too, but it was over message and I haven’t heard him elaborate yet.
That's what I came here to ask about myself, but like, I'm wondering about what I can expect to pay for the whole car? Just trying to at least get an idea of what to expect. I have this every day driver car, which is nothing special, I got it for the good gas mileage. But I still take good care of all my vehicles and keep them clean, and want to be comfortable while I drive. I decided that tinting the windows would be more relaxed for me and make it look better. So especially lower range, I don't need the best thing out there, but I'm not buying Walmart tint and doing it myself because... I don't want garbage. I guess lower to mid range, if that's even possible. I have no idea what it costs. Also. I don't need people to rip me off. Can anyone give me an idea of what it would cost? Or what I should expect to pay?
@Basketball American way things have been, gas prices and such, i decided to put that aside and haven't looked into it since. I did ask someone at this small car audio place if he could give me some idea, and it turned out the guy who did tints there just stopped showing up a few weeks earlier. CV related stuff or something. But he did 'guess' it was somewhere around $150. So $570 may sound like a lot, but i think that depends. Quality of material and how professional the place is. My car isn't anything that special, so someone who has experience installing something that's not cheap walmart tint is good enough for me. If you have something newer, something nice that'll be on the road for a good long time. Then I'd go with that because it makes more sense not to risk it with half ass stuff.
Sorry that's not the best way to tint a car if your a pro, the best I've seen is where we go and get out cars done, tinter takes your Vin number, puts into the custom software and the 3m printer cuts out each window size from the tint roll and all the installer does is lay down plastic coverings on all your interior so it doesn't get wet or damage and apply the tint on to the inside windows, that's it, no adjustments needed since everything is cut perfectly by the 3m printer...
I need to do my 2020 gt. Side front windows should be 50% however that's not dark enough for my likings. I was planning 35% front side windows but it'll be illegal in my state. Hopefully the cops leave me alone.
Omg, where can I find an honest business like that near by. I strongly support business like you guys and willing to pay. But all I have so far is rip off and lies after lies.
You gotta be shitting me.. I’ve owned 2 vehicles with 3m in the middle of the windows for years because I thought they didn’t come off 😂 long live Tim 🤘🏼
Not totally true about the car dealer tint. Just picked up a 2023 f150 xlt 302a (tinted) to replace a 2015 v8 F150 (no tint) and the first thing we all remarked about was how cool the interior of the cab was in comparison to our previous car. Were in Georgia so the heat is no slouch here!
I been trying to get my windows tint and I've been calling around getting prices now I'm worried about what brand I choose...lexen, xpel, global, solargard.....prices from $680 to $268 🤕 I hurt my head calling all these damn tint shops 😂😂
@Chocobohunter solargard with heat shield 5% in the back 15% in front can't tell if it's the best because this my 1st tint lol...but definitely made my car look better and the temp inside cooler...was about $550
