Only shrink up or down. Many wont include that in their tutorial. Wasted lots of expensive tint paper trying to shrink in all directions. The moment I learnt that im a pro at shrinking.

@@WilliamJones-i7z There is a way the paper should sit while you shrink it. If you rotate it 90 degrees it becomes harder or impossible to shrink properly.

I'm going to start tinting I'm a 19 year old with no purpose to pursue at the moment but tinting has always stood out too me. I'm going to give it a chance I'll start by tinting family cars & hopefully be ready by January 2023 to start tinting actual clients

Just tried my first tint yesterday,on flat windows on the side of my minibus.Each window was just over 1m long,64cm high.Problem i had was keeping control of the film whilst taking the backing off,it was a nightmare!!It just seemed to have a will of it's own and stuck to itself on the sticky side then it was impossible to unstick from itself!1m long film is difficult to control,especially if you were to whip the whole backing off at once! Method i ended up using was just take the backing off at a corner,then sticking that corner onto the window then reach up under the film and pull the back off from that corner diagonally right across constantly pressing the unbacked film that was uncovered onto the glass as i went. Film i used was cheap crap to practice,next day it was full of blisters and really,really thin creases,so small they couldn't be removed,sure it was faulty film as i didn't cause the creases!!

Just had a nightmare time using Gila film doing a passenger van for a friend. I wish I had found your channel yesterday. I'm going to have to redo two of the windows because I had some creases, but I feel much better now. I didn't realize it only shrinks up and down.

Cheap tint is a LOT harder to peel the backing from. It's also a lot more difficult to work with.

You can always use that side for the other side of the car if you mess up or when you're doing the job from the beginning you can have the sticky side facing you or the opposite side of the other side of the vehicle

Hey Mr Tint, I'm gonna install some tint on my motorcycle windscreen soon, this is plastic/acryl, does the film stick aswell on this material as on normal car windows? And does the drying in process works the same? Thnx 4 teh vid it was pretty informative!

Saved hundreds by watching this video and tinting my own vehicle. It can be tedious at first. I will offer some advice though. If you are forced to do this outside in the elements like I did ... make sure it's not a windy day.

If you take off the clip from the end of the OLFA knife, there is a small line cut out that's meant for snapping the blades off safely. 👍🏻

I saw a video where the guy fit the rear window without a heat gun. He removed the plastic covering to the tint and then spray with soapy water and lifting it up and pull on it while working it with the weegee to fit it onto the glass, and it seemed to work. Can it really not able to be done it that way without a heat gun? A reply would be appreciated since I don't have a heat gun.

Is anybody in Stoke on Trent who can put film tint on my motorcycle wind deflector screen. It is plastic and it’s all curved in all ways like right to left and up and down. I’ve tried to do it and the film just has loads of creases in. Please help as I’ve used nearly 6m’s of window tint. Good job it has only cost me £11 from eBay

When cleaning (prepping) the window can i use a regular razor blade to clean any gunk off of the glass? Im taking about scraping at a shallow angle to just clean the inside and outside before even doing a final clean?

Hi, I have had tints done in the past where the tint had a lot of condensation compared to normal glass. Is that usually the case?

That channel blade squeegee your using with the sledgehammer is the best gosh darn squeegee on the market hands down! I’m just bummed out that you guys stopped selling them.. what’s going on with that? Will they be back in the future? I can’t go back to any other run of the mill squeegee now that I’ve been using those

About that backing side away. That's when you size the film on the outside of the window. Is that done because it's easier. My windows have really close rubber around the window and thus I'm not sure I can cut it properly to size from the outside. So if I'm gonna cut to size on the inside, it's the other way around

Happy I clicked on this seeing as literally all the videos I've watched didn't say anything about soapy water. They only say spray water ha. Man that would've been a nightmare.
