Love the reference to the paper towel in water for wicking. Really simple to understand. You seem more coordinated as well, guess the detailshop-detail is already paying off! You really are the king of carpets in detailing right now, and I really hope you find a VLM way of cleaning carpets and upholstery for nearly every situation. I'm looking at ordering these products. However, something I've never understood since the time when discussions of adjusting the fabric's pH levels first appeared on the old detailing forums, and newer videos: if water generally has a pH of about 7, why wouldn't you always be fine if you just make the final rinse and extraction plain water? Wouldn't that in itself leave the fibers with a neutral pH, because it's the final liquid to touch the fibers? What am I missing?

Extractors DO NOT have the suction level of a DRY/WET VAC. I'm gonna say one thing about the actual vacuuming side of extracting, mytee extractors spray hot water/solution with suction for $1600+. You could spray hot water/solution and use a dry/wet vac with even more suction (yes they do have more suction than the mytee extractors) and get the same results. A good dry/wet vac is $100-$200. Otherwise great video, thank you for the content, excellent material.

So if you're vacuuming a carpet and you can't get all of the dirt out, can you spray the pre cleaning solution on and agitate and then extract? Or does all the dirt have to be out of the carpet first?
@HawkProDetailing
@HawkProDetailing 4 года назад
79% of all particulates in carpet are dry. Which means they don't dissolve with steam or degreaser...so they turn to mud if you get them wet first. Best way to do carpets is to get as much dry soil out as possible...using vacuum, brush compressed air...whatever you can...before you spray pre spray

Hey Nick, Thanks for all the great videos! I'm new to car detailing (stuck at home and bored) and you have given me a bunch of great ideas. I purchased a chief steamer 125 PSI last month with the optional steam/vac hose. I'm very happy with the cleaning results, but not so much with stains. I don't think it's the steamer, but the user thats the problem. I do plan on purchasing some better cleaning products. I will use your links to purchase as appreciation all your videos but was wondering if you have any suggestions for me . I really don't want to invest in a hot water extractor at this time. Do you think that the Bio Break and Flex Ice would work ok with the steam/vac? If not, do you have any other suggestions for heavy hitting stains? If so, please provide a link and I'll make sure I click on it when I purchase. Thanks again for all you do Nick.
@HawkProDetailing

Hey Kevin! Try using a Bissell or rug doctor (150 bucks tops) and put HOT water into them before using. Rely on chemistry of encap spot for goofy stains. Give it dwell time And, then tamp down on stain with a towel and see if your stain moves into towel. Try agitating stain. And rely on chemistry of bio break for breaking crud down...15 mins dwell time firsr. Plus agitation to do its thing. Only then would I introduce steam....and then extraction ....bio break does wonders but not all stains come out...and you can set stains with heat if you're not careful so I use heat last

Great Tips & Tricks. Just getting my tools together. I got a Bauer 10amp wet vac discounted & collected 3 Hand Held steamers from thrift stores but also got Harbor Freight $126 Steamer unit. I had an idea for the wet rugs & upholstery. See what you think, place a couple 500 watt Halogen Work lights in vehicle for Heat (work better if you take safety glass off) & place a small Dehumidifier in vehicle with sealed windows. The Heat from a Halogen Light bulb (short wave) penetrates deeper than any form of heat.

I found the urine neutralizer online (the link to the urine neutralizer is not working) and I do understand how to use this but I’m kinda lost on where to go from there? I have an extractor. Hi Nick, can you make a video on a dry carpet cleaning method. Such as misting an enzyme cleaner/pre spot. Then layering an alkaline general carpet cleaner on top/drill brushing. Towel drying or steaming if necessary. Then using a neutraliser/rinse chemical/peroxide. Would love if the DIY detail carpet line has capability to be used in this way. Extraction is good but customers often don’t care or aren’t willing to pay for it.

Great video. Lots of information for a professiona newl detailer who should be kissing your feet. I am just a home dad with a coffee stain that I cannot get out of my light tan carpet. I have the Bissell Big Green machine and even with their product and some homemade stain removers this coffee stain won't come out. Of the products you've listed above what can I use with my machine safely that will do the trick? Thanks.

Coffee is tricky...did it have cream, for instance? Caffeinated or decaf? I would literally Google "aramsco" ... they might have a storefront near you. That or Jon Don. Talk to them about your carpet type, an effective product, and worst case they ship it to you.

Man I am loving your videos, very informative. Keep up the amazing work. I know you do interior extraction in cold weather, how many air mover fans do you recommend for drying seats, and carpets? (the blue fans that you recommend).
@HawkProDetailing
@HawkProDetailing 3 года назад
Don't spend all your money but I really like having two omni movers (blue) and two red one direction fans. 4 in total seems to work best...I like the one direction fans for when you need one spot blasted

@@HawkProDetailing thank you, just ordered 2 omni movers, and will hold on on the one direction fans (i already have 2). Ill try this out and see how it goes, will try it on my friends car so the feedback won't cause me future business. thank you for making these videos, it really does help.

If a large hot water extractor is not an option, would you recommend Encap Clean DS2 + Encap Spot or Bio Break + Flex Ice + Bissel Extractor?
@HawkProDetailing
@HawkProDetailing 4 года назад
Bio break, flex ice are a must with extraction:) Encap spot is amazing for pre treating nasty spots. Encap Clean DS2 is a great product but for absolute BEST performance in all circumstances I would say you dont *need* it. Check Excellent Supply website they have a free sample pack, you just pay shipping
@danielshallberg9266
@danielshallberg9266 2 года назад
@@HawkProDetailing so you’re able to use flex ice / bio break with a simple 150$ bissell spotclean pro? Just hot water with flex ice? No soap in tank? Use bio break as pre spray let dwell, agitate then extract with bissell ? I got the free sample pack so I have Encap clean ds2 and Encap spot as well.
@HawkProDetailing
@HawkProDetailing 2 года назад
@@danielshallberg9266 yep same principles apply. A big extractor is nice because it has a ton of psi and can get really hot. But you just need to work a little bit harder and should be able to get the same results!
@Ccelestino290
@Ccelestino290 4 года назад
could you make solutions of bio/flex and store it after mixed?
@HawkProDetailing
@HawkProDetailing 4 года назад
All of them should ideally be mixed fresh for every job. Mixing flex and bio together into one doesnt make sense to me because then it would neutralize the power of bio break IMO

@HawkProDetailing
@HawkProDetailing 4 года назад
dry shampoo? You can use brush pro dry compound...but that is hard to vacuum all the way up. Encap CleanDS 2 is best chemical I've found for "shampoo" of carpets that doesn't require extraction
@achkc
@achkc 4 года назад
@@HawkProDetailing Thanks for the response! I'll have to dry out the Encap. What I have found from the encap products is when you are trying to move about efficiently they can take a bit to dry completely, thus the search for a more dry shampoo for well maintained vehicle that don't need a heavy extraction/steam process.

@@HawkProDetailing I did the math and it comes out to $4 every extraction detail and $1 this method. And you can change the dilution of peroxide depending on how strong you want it.
