Are you an auto detailer? This video will help you take your carpet cleaning to the next level. I picked the brains of carpet cleaning experts from all over the country to make sure I was getting the best products for automotive carpet and upholstery. Here's a video showcasing what I found out!
Hawk Pro Detailing is a mobile detailing company focused on amazing interior details -- paint correction -- and ceramic coatings. We are based in Heber City, Utah, but we go to Park City and even Salt Lake City for work fairly often.
Here are some of the products you saw in this video:
Mytee Lite 8070 hot water extractor: www.amazon.com....
Here is my favorite pre-spray -- it has enzymes and it's great on most car carpets/upholstery. Flex With Citrus Solv is great, too, but Bio Break is my new favorite because of the enzymes: www.amazon.com....
Here is a great product for your Mytee Lite -- use this as a neutralizing rinse AFTER your pre spray. It's Flex Ice: www.amazon.com....
VX5000 steamer is super versatile. I love this thing: amzn.to/2WQHq01
Sprayer you saw in the video: amzn.to/2SGuiLt

Saigers code red is a great prespray as well and deep blue rinse in same saiger line to neutralize ph. So many good options out there. All about the chemistry.

Can that powder be safely added to the mytee extractor machine? I know that caution needs to be taken as to what kind of chemicals can be added and low foaming. Thanks for the informative vid!
@HawkProDetailing
@HawkProDetailing 5 лет назад
foaming shouldn't be a huge issue with an extractor that size. rinse out junk basin and good water basin when done using. just good common sense and take care of the equipment and you will have no problem with flex ice! mix it up well too before using

Those links to Amazon for the Flex products don't work. BTW, if I were to decide on say a Bissell carpet extractor or the Rug Doctor model and use the Flex product, do you think I would see good results??

I've always wondered why all the detailers on RU-vid don't use carpet cleaning products! I'm not a detailer or carpet cleaner but I've spent tens of hours researching both industries for fun. Another great technology from the carpet cleaning industry is encapsulating detergents (aka very low moisture or bonnet cleaning) - you just spray them and agitate but you don't have to extract them. They just encapsulate the dirt and immediately make it look clean and then the encapsulated dirt will be removed when the next dry vacuuming happens. I use an encap cleaner on my vehicle, agitate with a drill brush and then just suck out what I can with my shop vac so I don't have to worry about properly extracting it like I would with an APC or products like you're using in this video. Bonnet Pro makes some products that can be used in both hot water extraction or encap cleaning so those might interest you since you'd only have to stock 1 product for either type of cleaning. Their prespray is called Revive It Rocket and the rinse is called Radical Rinse. Having an encap cleaner on hand is just great for when you wanna spot clean upholstery/carpets without extracting or worrying about leaving residue in the fabric.
@themikeroberts
@themikeroberts 4 года назад
Nevermind, I just saw your other carpet cleaning video and saw you already have an encap detergent and have been down the rabbit hole I've been down - hours on TMF and Mikey's Board. I've been thinking of going into carpet cleaning cause I find it so interesting and satisfying.

That's the best way to clean carpet. Be sure to flush clean fresh water through your machine and hoses at the end of every work day.

Really? So if I use Flex Ice I need to flush it with clean water after? What's the downside of leaving it a few days?

Hawk Pro Detailing Hi, so I currently have a Mytee lite, going to possibly upgrade to a Mytee HP60. I never put any chemical in the solution tank, if you leave it in there it may leave chalky residue in the solution tank, pump, heater. If you do, you wanna rinse everything out so it won’t harm the pump and the heater. Also, you can clean your pump with vinegar, Mytee recommended it to me, it cleans all the hard water out of the lines.
@crsdetailing854
@crsdetailing854 5 лет назад
Hawk Pro Detailing Also, you wanna rinse out your dirty water tank, I do that after every job.
@crsdetailing854
@crsdetailing854 5 лет назад
Hawk Pro Detailing Also, sorry for the tags lol, after every job once you clean everything out you wanna run the vacuum motors to remove all the moisture from the motor, it can increase the life of the motor.

Great carpet cleaning product. I'll give Flex a try. Can you recommend a budget Carpet extractor machine for a non-professional detailer that occassionally earns some extra money on the side detailing cars and is a weekend warrior type detailer? Thanks
@HawkProDetailing
@HawkProDetailing 2 года назад
Best advice: Bio Break as pre spray, neutralize with flex ice. Check my previous vids about getting the most put of your cheap extractor...but what you want is hot water. So if you are mobile, it's worth the money to buy a bucket heater. You stick it in a bucket of water and it will heat water up. Hot water is crucial for carpet cleaning to work best. I've seen a lot of cheap ones out there...I feel like people use Bissell?

@HawkProDetailing

It is fine to overspray on leather and I'm sure it works to clean anything because of high ph.... but I would be very cautious and wipe down immediately. It's for carpets 😊

Can u put the flex ice in a rug doctor an will it work????
@HawkProDetailing
@HawkProDetailing 5 лет назад
+Atl Fat here is what I would do. Make sure the rug doctor clean water basin has warm/hot water. Dump appropriate amount of powder in and mix. You should be golden:) Same principles apply. You want to leave carpet as neutral as possible. You should also try encapuclean O2. It’s amazing. Light application, let your brush get it over all the fibers, it’s a one step product and even a pre spray if carpet isn’t too bad

I've become a fan of using "Just Water". It seems that the residue of the cleaners make the carpet behave like a boot cleaning material. The long term results have been better with just water in my opinion. If chemicals are needed I follow up with multiple just water cleanings until the carpet is close to chemical free. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for a great video Hawk!! Got both Flex powder with Citrus Solv and the Flex Ice after watching your video. I also looked up the products on RU-vid and seems many carpet cleaning professionals swear by this brand. I have the Meguiars products currently along with McKees pre extractor and IGL Interior. All are decent but I always felt they were all lacking. I’m excited to put these to use this weekend on my F-150 and stairwell in my house. And you’re right, auto detailers as a group generally lack good carpet and upholstery technique. Always looking to up my game.
@HawkProDetailing
@HawkProDetailing 5 лет назад
climber950 that’s awesome! I spent a couple of days with the folks at interlink supply (they manufacture bridgepoint products like flex). They said their “bio break” product with citrus solv might even be better for car carpets and upholstery since it has enzymes in it. (There’s always a slightly better chemical or toy-am I right? Lol) but I’m really loving the combo I showed in this video so far and don’t feel a need to upgrade quite yet:)

As far as the pre spray I mean. They all seem to suggest flex ice with its low ph as being a great rinse product
