🐑 Thanks for all the work/research that went into this! As a fellow cashmere lover, I appreciate it. I'll keep Quince in mind for my next sweater purchase.
Thanks for this and it was really helpful. I have the Curated sweater in the Pannacotta colour and I love it. I have some older Uniqlo cashmere in beautiful colours and a different cut than now. The cashmere is also thicker than the current ones and has really stood the test of high use and washing.
Watched through the end and loved the video! A couple of alternatives: & Other Stories cashmere (mine are mock neck swaters from 3 years ago), Whistles (again from 2 years ago), and in Ireland Dunnes Stores (similar to M&S in the UK, size up 1 or 2 sizes).
I have a lot of Quince sweaters, joggers and a silk skirt. For the money it is the best on the market. For Christmas gifts I purchases some cashmere socks and the cashmere fisherman sweater. I was so impressed with both I purchased one of each for myself. The fishermen sweater is a great dupe for the Jenni Kayne one. I also wear a lot from Naadam and their quality is wonderful too.
I have to 100% agree with you - the value you're getting for the price is just outstanding. I've been thoroughly impressed with all my Quince purchases so far. And great tip re: the fisherman sweater! xx
I bought 2 cashmere sweaters from quince this pass month and after the first wear they look so cheap and peeling like crazy, I don’t recommend at all .
🐑 As ever, a very thorough and useful review! I especially love the Curated jumper, and also wish I could buy from Quince (I’m in the UK). I have a lot of cashmere jumpers which I have bought from charity shops, and I have found that often they are priced quite low if they have a lot of pilling and so don’t look so good. Just a few minutes with my comb remedies this, and I’m happy! You have a lovely collection 🐏
Thank you Elaine! Yes I really hope they open up international shipping soon as shopping through mail forwarding can be a bit of a drawn out process (plus the risk as you can't return items). And that is a fabulous tip! I'm trying to do a little more "thrifting" so I might steal that one next time I'm at a second hand/charity shop x
🐑 🐑 I’m going to add a Quince sweater to my wishlist now. I’ve been so curious about the brand since seeing a promoted ad for the company on Instagram and was just dumbfounded by the price for cashmere. Glad to hear that you’ve been enjoying yours. Thanks for the thorough video.
I felt the same way when I discovered them - thought surely, there's no way it could be good for that price. I think that was what piqued my curiosity. Still floored over the value for money :) Thank you so much for watching - I know it was a long one! xx
Thank you for the detailed review. Excellent analysis. I am a Quince person. Fully agree with your analysis. Question: Have you experienced Loro Piana and Brunello Cucinelli’s cashmere?
🐑 Your cashmere collection is wild 😍 I have to say I love Naadam’s cashmere. I have a super thick boyfriend marled sweater, one of their classic crews, and two others that I can’t recall the names of and all are just so lovely! I want The Curated’s crew but nervous that the sleeves aren’t for me… Your video is super helpful!!!
Haha! Allll for this video - definitely wouldn't have quite so many otherwise. The Naadam luxe cashmere feels very premium, that's for sure. I like how thick it is. I've got an oversized knit style in the burgundy colour. Tucked away at the back of my closet waiting for next winter (though with all the rain and cool weather, I probably will be able to wear it sooner, hah). I think The Curated also do a classic crew style too which looks divine - currently one on my personal wishlist to try :)
I actually bought a Babaa wool sweater and that was one of the reasons I sold it - I had the raw wool, and it just wasn't a practical option to have with a newborn (too rough so meant I never reached for it). I ended up replacing it with a natural fibre mix knit from Marle instead. Wouldn't mind trying their cotton knits! x
🐑Hi Jamie! 🤭 Loved your sheep emoji idea. Never used it before. I love cashmere and have 3 cashmere sweaters. But my favourite cashmere items are a pair of cashmere tights - super warm while super thin as a base layer - and a cashmere hoodie for around the house. I'm in heaven. 🤭 All 3 of my sweaters are crew necks and I'm realizing I could use a cashmere turtleneck. I have 5 merino turtlenecks for layering with blazers and other sweaters and also a cowl neck Alpaca, but I feel that one cashmere turtleneck for winter is a must for Canada. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead and your reno planning is going well! Big hugs! n 💖🐑🤭😄
Ahh thank you for watching the whole way through - this was a long one! Hopefully helps when making a decision for future purchases so you can personally prioritize what’s most important for you ☺️😚
You're welcome!! You'll have to let me know what you think if you decide to go ahead and get it. I still am floored over the value for money! Filakia xx
Stayed till the end! Thanks for giving us such an in-depth overview. I have both the Naadam and Quince cashmere crews as well as the Quince cashmere turtleneck. Love them all! I wear the Naadam sweater on repeat. I am debating on getting another one from Naadam in the Merlot color.
Thank you Amity! And so glad you found it informative :) My luxe knit from Naadam is in a deep burgundy/merlot hue and it's really divine. Such a nice colour for the colder months xx
Thanks for a comprehensive overview. I find Uniqlo colours are really disappointing - they’re always slightly off, and not quite that extra touch to be flattering. At least on me. The classic colours are fine, but their seasonals often just miss the mark for me
You're welcome! So glad you found it informative. I wonder if it's the undertone? I often find that many of their seasonal colours pull quite cool toned in my experience (especially their wool knits!) xx
For Quince the price is unbeatable however, I have the a black and oatmeal color crew and they have both peeled horribly. They alsp alronk with wash even though I have always handwashed using the cold cycle! I still think its a good brand to start a cashmere collection.
I love your thorough reviews! I bought my first cashmere sweater because of your videos years ago haha. Would love to hear your thoughts on H&M cashmere.
So glad you found this helpful!! Ahh that’s so cool! I actually am yet to try H&M cashmere but am super curious. Perhaps one to add to the list, especially from their conscious collection x
Hi Jamie. I hope you get to try the new The Curated Classic Crew with the bell sleeves. I'm very curious how you would rate that. Thanks for this review very helpful.
Agreed on the Cuyana cashmere! I love their ethos and styling, but the fabrics (silk, cashmere, cotton) are often disappointing and don’t hold up to their promises of being high quality. I have a cashmere sweater too, and it’s much itchier than my Italic and Everlane sweaters. And so much itchier than Nadaam sweaters I’ve seen in person. The only reason to keep it is that the cut is unique. And 2 cotton knit items I’ve purchased from Cuyana have severely pilled after just two washes. And a bag I recently bought had the snap break 1 week into a vacation smh. 🤦🏻♀️ Sometimes I wonder if they don’t include customer reviews because they know their reviews would be poor to medium on many products.
It's such a shame with the cashmere as I had such high hopes! That said, I've had a *really* positive experience with their bags overall. My structured tote is still going strong after seven years and I use it a LOT. Sounds like maybe you got unlucky with the bag. Did you contact their customer service? I'd hope they would repair or replace it for you as that's not right for it to break so quickly!
Thank you Renee! And no, not yet, but I did recently make my first purchase from the brand - an alpaca sweater. One of their cashmere cardigans is next on my list :)
Thank you! And yes, I didn't realise when I was filming this video - looks like they've shifted away from their $100 USD cashmere knits. I actually own one of the new styles and I think the quality is much nicer now, too.
🐑 I appreciate the thorough and helpful review as always! If you've ever tried James Perse, I have a cashmere cardigan from them that is lovely and super soft and plush!
Thank you for watching through to the end Megan! And so thrilled I could introduce you to a new brand. I own quite a few things from Quince and have to say, overall I've been really impressed. Definitely one to check out if you're on the hunt for new basics :D
I've owned plenty of cashmere from Grana in the past. I'm not sure whether it's changed but it's thicker than Everlane/Quince/Mott & Bow and has a bit more of a "plushy" feel to it. Washes well too.
🐑 I just had to comment...I watched the whole thing to the end and really appreciate this video! It was so in depth and an overall excellent review. I will keep all this in mind when I make my purchases. Incidentally, I haven't bought cashmere from any of these brands as I could tell the quality may not be what I am looking for. I love cashmere sweaters/cardigans but I am also picky with regards to the quality. Since I live in Canada I really need sweaters and I prefer cashmere above all other types for warmth. The best and most luxurious cashmere sweater I have is from Tory Burch, with the runner up being Maison Cashmere from Italy. I am currently saving for Scottish made cashmere from House of Bruar-specifically the 3 ply Barrie cashmere basic crew neck. I'm also scoping ebay and other sites for vintage Scottish cashmere as the quality of those garments are unparalleled. I simply love cashmere and think I am fast becoming a connoisseur!
Thank you Em - and for the feedback! Definitely one of the reasons why I held off posting for so long, I wanted to ensure it was very thorough. Ooooh, and I really appreciate your recommendations, thank you! I totally appreciate how cold it gets in Canada over the winters. One that I did mention in passing was the luxe range from Naadam which might work for you but the price is up there (perhaps on par with some of the others you've mentioned), especially once you add on taxes/duties etc. While mine has pilled, I figure easily fixed with a cashmere comb. But it's *very* thick - perhaps one of the more thicker knits I've tried. I've been curious about a couple of other brands cashmere of late; Gentle Herd and Soft Goat, so they might be my next cashmere acquisitions - I'll have to share how I get on with them :)
@@mademoisellejaime Yes please regarding Gentle Herd and another new one Nap Loungewear. My cashmere from said brands are thicker but I am now looking for medium/light weight. The Tory Burch one is a dream. It's a heavier weight ivory cashmere sweater with zero pilling. If I could get my hands on similar quality I don't mind paying extra...I will save $$ lol.
Agh I know! I'd actually been in touch with someone in their comms team before the pandemic hit, when they were exploring the idea. While I personally don't mind shopping with mail forwarding (especially when buying knitwear), it does come with the risk that you might not like the item and also, not be able to return it. Fingers crossed they open up international shipping sometime soon!
@@mademoisellejaime You are welcome. I made an order of one of your sweaters some months ago, but I was refunded because it was not possible to ship to my country (Montenegro-Europe) due to the pandemic. I was wondering if things have changed and is it possible to order from Montenegro now? (still interested in the sweater)
