I love the alpaca crew as well. I tend to wear it on repeat during the winter at home, because it feels like a soft, cozy hug. It's funny how you can have quite an extensive knit wear collection but keep gravitating towards certain pieces over and over again. I think it's because of how lovely it feels on. Also LOVE the new curved way high jean - a barrel like take on the way high. It's up there in my top 3 pairs of denim ever!
Fellow Everlane devotee here! Agree with most of your top 10, I'd add the dream pant to that list and their utility barrel pant! I also think their linen is really good, high quality and thick while still being soft. Only issue is the pricing which I think is a bit high (but they do good sales and often have storewide discount of 20% so worth waiting) and the loooong shipping times to Aus and the $30 return fee, which makes me reluctant to try items that I'm not 100% sure will flatter me. Just wish they'd bring in more warm-toned colours as a warm-toned human.
I had an Everlane moment a few years ago. The over-size blazer and silk shirt are going strong not so sure about the cashmere sweaters they are too lady-like for me these days. Once again Jamie - thanks for your great eye for fashion and wearability.
I feel like this would be a common sentiment! Ah - the classic crew style that they do? A good basic but I can appreciate the desire to have something that feels like it has a bit more personality to it in terms of the silhouette/shape :) Thanks so much for watching - hope you're having the best start to your week! x
Tip: 90% isopropyl alcohol wet into leather, where it hurts, will break down the leather to mold to your foot. Wet area w cotton pad, then wear shoe. Breaks in swiftly, within a few days.
Thanks for the tip JD - I'm not clued up on all the ways you can stretch leather beyond taking them to the cobbler, which from experience have learned that in of itself isn't always a magic salve (though I think wet newspaper is another trick) - but I'm a little weary of using any kind of alcohol as I believe this can damage the leather? That said, I'd rather just buy shoes that are comfortable from the get go. Life's too short for uncomfortable shoes! Thankfully (for my feet) it looks like they've put a pause on using that leather for their shoes for the moment :D
Re: sandals, we still have more than three and a half months of hot summer weather to go where I live, it doesn’t cool down until early to mid-November here. I’ll not only wear new sandals next summer, but a lot this summer, too. I buy off-season a lot, to get items I love at lower prices.
I guess what I meant, but perhaps didn’t explain, is that as sandals are readily available for spring/summer currently in the US, with end of season sales coming up, I think you’ll get a better deal if you wait for those (especially if you’re buying something classic). We have a similar climate here in Australia so right there with you as I wear sandals about 8-9 months of the year ☺️
I have the same problem with this sale - few items are made of all-natural fibers. I can’t wear synthetics, except perhaps in a raincoat that won’t touch my skin, so I didn’t see much for me there.
I don't have an issue with some synthetics, but with certain categories (like knitwear), I *always* know I'll be disappointed. Better to hunt around as these days there's so much choice you're likely to get something that's an even better deal! Are you going to buy anything from the sale?
Thanks God u didnot said the famous ....."Years and years to come" or "stand the test of time" because obsvi ly not true. But nice anyway and for that i am following you.
I got so many compliments yesterday, wearing woven linen tailored shorts with a linen jersey v-neck t-shirt, in slightly different shades of soft peachy pink. With dangly bead earrings in two shades of pink, and white trainers with embroidered flowers in pastel tones. I do have a suntan - am in Sicily. Aged 70, on a pedal bike
Hi Jaime, I’m getting married for the first time at 60! I’m thinking of either a midi length sheath, Bec &Bridge or perhaps colour - designers like Scanlan Theodore or Rebecca Valance? Or monochrome top and skirt / jacket? I’m not thinking old lady, 😂 but modern chic. Would love to hear your ideas! 🥰❤️
CONGRATULATIONS! Wow, that's so exciting, I'm so happy for you! Gosh, so many options. My mum when she remarried in her 40s wore a sheath style dress and beautiful silky blazer - very similar to what Carrie wore in SatC actually - and that was very chic. I also think even something with lace. When my brother-in-law got married, mothers on both sides were asked to wear white and my MiL wore a lovely lace sheath dress which was elegant. Have you looked at Carla Zampatti too? That would be anther option. Alternatively if you want to spend a little bit more, I love Rachel Gilbert. Good luck! xx
@@mademoisellejaime thanks so much 🥰 Rachel Gilbert and Carla Zampatti are beautiful. I agree a sheath is a good style for mature brides! I will let you know how I go! Big day of trying on in High Street Armadale tomorrow ☺️.
Thank you Jamie for always creating and sharing interesting content. I have loved fashion my whole life (shallow maybe). To see someone who is well dressed makes me happy, again shallow maybe. I would rather be where my passion brings happiness than the opposite. Thanks again for the joy.
I’m the same. An interest in fashion is potentially viewed as shallow by some but I’ve finally moved past that. I see it now as a form of art and I’m the canvas.
Thank you for watching Kaye, and I'm so glad you enjoyed this! I love Jane's comment below, around fashion being a form of art, and we're the canvas - I think that's such a beautiful way to look at it. I also see it as a form of self-expression, and not only that, how we dress can impact our mood and how we feel in our clothing (and honestly, this is one of the most rewarding parts of working 1-on-1 with people, seeing their faces light up when they put on an outfit they feel great in!). So, definitely not shallow at all! xx
@@janeseemann2527 Thank you Jane, I love the way you have helped my sometimes self doubt. I for one get such happiness watching others displaying their masterpiece canvases. I secretly wish to be Iris Apfel but with my own voice thanks.
Watched this video when you first posted and bought 10 pieces ever since (and I'm done). This is an awesome review for me, who's trying to transition out of COVID Lululemon only wardrobe.
Either I am doing this wrong or I have an extremely long torso. Your hand is sitting right above your bellybutton and you said you have a long torso. My hand has a full 3 inches before my belly button. The odd thing about this is I have very long legs. I wear a 31 inseam. However, I am only 5’41/2. So how do I have a long torso and long legs and still be short?
I'm so very excited, as I will be going to Croatia, Greece and Rome for 2 weeks! I've never been and have been quite stressed about what clothes I should be wearing!. I am a little conservative, and hourglass shape :) . I would wear most of the items you showed, but is there some recommendations for some more affordable items? Been saving up for the trip and didn't want to spend all on wardrobe for going there :). Would love your advise, I'm based in Melbourne - Australia. xx
Ahhh the dream! That sounds like an incredible trip, you must be so excited! Okay so I would first look to UNIQLO, some of these sorts of styles are currently off/out of season but you might get lucky. Also, Assembly Label (sale stock), Dissh (many summer styles currently on sale) and glassons ❤️
Hello Jamie, thank you for your video! Goelia is a brand I see everywhere and I was hesitant on the quality but these pieces do look amazing on you. I was wondering, how tall are you ? Do you feel like the white trousers are going to be too short on someone who is 5’9 ? Thank you
Thank you! If you live in Sydney, you can also go and see some of their items in store. They don't have the full range, but it's a nice way to be introduced to the brand. I'm 172cm or 5'8" but I do have a longer torso and shorter legs so depending on your body make up they may look a little different for you
Hi! I just checked in with the Goelia team and all discount code offers ended on 1 July, however they have said that you can get 15% off (not stackable) with my code Jamie15
Hi Jamie, I know it’s not right video to ask this question, but I was wondering what mail forwarding service do you use to ship from US. I’m in Canada and no longer have patience to wait for Quince to start shipping here. I’m thinking to order from them using reliable mail forwarding. Would be thankful if you could share. Thanks!😊
Hi! I use the website Shipito. I have a link which will give you a discount off your first order here: www.shipito.com/?id_affiliate=9206 I don't know if they are the most affordable, but they are really reliable AND you can set your own customs values 👀🤭 If you choose the "remove all packaging" you'll get the best shipping rates too x
Hi Jamie Love the red ballet flats still wearing them even at 78 - every thing else may be black but I love the red shoes - when I was young they had sky-high heels but they were replaced by the flats during the mum years. Love yours with the white/ish outfits.
Hi. Great video. Very Useful tips. I love when you have jewelry sponsored videos because i love seeing the stylish pieces you chose. You have a good eye. Last year I started selling second hand solid gold and silver jewelry on this cool American site that mostly sells clothing . The major problem is deciding what to keep and sell🙃. Today I sourced a beautiful geometric hoop ,two tone that remind me of the ones you chose in your video. Those I will keep. I always enjoy your videos. 🙂
Hi Jamie, I love the peplum top with the wide leg pants. Surprisingly to my eye it seemed to make the leg proportions longer where before seeing the outfits I would have chosen the slim top with the pants. You are very talented at this dressing game. Did you train in fashion? I know you often reference your late mother as a style inspiration. Wherever you gained the knowledge you certainly know how to use it. Happy days.
Thank you so much Kaye! She taught me a lot of the basic concepts that I've gone on to use today, and I've spent a lot of time researching, learning, understanding body types/proportions which have helped enhance and enrich the knowledge I got from her :) So wonderful getting messages like yours though - I hope that these gave you some easy ideas to incorporate into your own outfits! x
Omg that last part about buying something and then having to buy another piece to go with it really resonated with me. I’ve been looking to buy a specific kind of slip dress: the 90’s maxi silhouette that French girls wear with heeled boots. It’s a challenge because I’ve been looking for the right cut to fit my body type, as the slinky dress is not the most flattering on me. I bought the heeled boots so they can go with the dress, but I haven’t even found the right dress yet lol 😅 Good thing is I love the boots and have several outfits I can wear them with. You’ve convinced me to leave the dress alone lol
