John S. Kung, M.D., F.A.A.O. F.I.C.S. was interviewed by the Best Cataract Surgeons in America at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons conference this year - the 2nd largest ophthalmology national conference.
Dr. Kung was the first to perform the RxSight Light Adjustable Lens treatment for cataract surgery in the states of New York and New Jersey. The RxSight Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) is the only technology where the power of the implanted intraocular lens (IOL) can be changed AFTER cataract (or RLE) surgery. The adjustments are made with a series of usually 3 light treatments to fine tune the patient's vision. Dr. Kung likens the results to watching HDTV versus regular TV - the patient's vision can be fine tuned to adjust the correction of nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, providing the patient with very clear vision.
