Best Center speaker 2020 

I have the emotiva c2 its fantastic for it to even be in the same range as the 1500 golden ear is incredible

Come on bro, you're comparing $400 speakers (SVS and Emotiva) to a $1600 speaker (Golden ear) you would have to use the super center x to make a fair comparison. Even then it's a $650 speaker. It's like putting a Mustang against a Corolla, then saying " Which do you like driving better? "

Why didn't you use the SVS Ultra center speaker?. That really not a very fair comparison. Those other speakers are in a completely different price range.

I've heard Goldenear and Emotiva speakers in situations where I was able to compare them to large selections of other speakers, and I felt they were both very strong performers in their general price brackets (difficult to hear Emotiva in the wild given their factory-direct model, but there's at least one Hi-Fi shop that carries them. I know because I've been there). My main system is currently Emotiva-based, and if someday I do a big upgrade, Goldenear will likely be near or at the top of my list.

Sound sample of center speakers.. nice. How does the GoldenEar compare with the Def Tech CS center speaker with built in sub ?

goldenear is a bit deeper than the emotiva but the price makes the emotiva the clear winner. the svs sounds good but it lacks everything the other two has.

The golden ear have what seems to be either built in subwoofs or passive radiators so by virtue of that it’s going to sound more fuller in the lower end than the other two just playing by itself But in a home theater setting matched with a subwoof that would take care of the low end once x-over then what’s the point 🤷‍♂️

Goldenear sounds MUCH better imo. Though, I've got one 😂

I was looking to picking up a Center speaker, I Was looking at the Atlantic Technology 8600eC Center Speaker, Also looking at the Klipsch Rc-64 iii and The GoldenEar SuperCenter reference Speaker, Any recommendations?

Optimus' voice was a little beefier sounding but you could tell that the GoldenEar was straying from neutrality with some elevated highs.

@ Dempsey Lewis...Good catch on the svs prime center. It was not a fair comparison when you take someone else's best and compare it to svs's entry level performer. I have seen people do that towards svs products alot. I have the whole ultra 7.1 set up and it's no slouch. Neither is the ultra center!

Nicely done... showing center channels at different price brakets and then comparing them is smart. Also you personally purchased all of the speakers from your own pocket so unless someone wants to pitch in the future. just enjoy the content for whats being presented.

Not sure which I'd pick as first and second...but, for sure, the svs is third...although good, it was lacking a lot in the bottom end... My setup is a Pioneer sc-lx 87 or an Onkyo tx-nr 3010 (can't decide which I'll use while saving up for a newer one). 2 XTZ 300 Edge A2 as poweramps for fronts. Speakers are: Subs: 2 Defintive Technology Reference (1 active 14" and 2 14" slave) Front: Dynavoice Dynamite 12 Center: Dynavoice Dynamite c62 Surround Dynavoice Dynamite 10 Height: Dynavoice Dynamite s61 Projector and screen (don't remember specs, is is mostly the sound for me). Reciever and projector is planed upgraded to 4K. Also considering upgrading the speakers.

Understood the Golden Ear is better, but would you say it is $1000 better than the C2?

The golden ear is for sure the best of the bunch, not feeling the svs, the emotiva is alright but lands a little more flat and less detailed than the other 2 but for the price its fantastic.

Yo', you may be mixing up things a bit. You are talking about an Airmotive C2+ -- but showing the old C2 in the demo. Well, which one is it (the two are slightly different)?

Ok buddy. It’s the guy you were conversing with a few days ago. I just got my ultra center and demoed scenes 25-27 of Deadpool and I can tell you that yes, it is a HUGE increase in detail, clarity and is better in every way. Made the rest of my prime pinnacle system come to life. I will now have to disagree with your statements based on real world proof. I watched it with the prime center then plugged in the ultra and watched the same scenes. We are blown away at the upgrade. I now have a center that is better than the klipsch RP(some numbers)C that I started with originally. Amazing. SVS all the way.

Do you think the new Emotiva A3 amp will be able to push the T2+/C2+ speakers?

These speaker are not all in the same price category so this test is pointless. Why didn’t you list their prices?… You put a Ferrari up against a Civic and a Toyota. Surprise you think the Ferrari is the Best!!? Dec 2021.. Emotiva C2+: $400 USD SVS Revolution: $400 USD SuperCenter Reference Center Channel Speaker: $1,900 USD!

I have the SVS ULTRA and I am not happy with it. Definately sending it back. For $700 I expected much better.

Goldenear all day long

Listening through my headphones is of course not ideal. But I agree with you. The Goldenear sounds excellent as number one. The Emotiva sounds great and a somewhat close second at a quarter of the price! The SVS sounded small and way out of it's class.

Great review. However, two things to consider. One, price. Two, none of these will be stand alone. They be integrated with a subwoofer. That integration makes a big difference. But yes, I wish we had more of these. Good job!

Is goldenear central channel polk suitable for audio signature series?

Let me get this straight. You want us to evaluate which speaker sounds best by listening to them through our speakers at home? You know we can't actually hear what you hear right?

Three things crucial to know if this video is going to be of any good to anyone. 1. Are they rear ported or not ported? 2. How far from the wall do you have them? 3. What is the tonality of the surface you set them on? Even a simple knock would help, but best to use speaker pads in the future. Still appreciate your efforts, may be do another of these?

Not the same size speakers so of course they’ll have different sound.

SVS sucks. All of their speakers suck except for their subs which are supreme!

Listening to speakers over the internet and choosing the best sounding? That is pretty dumb.
