they dont sell regular ones like the rustler that was for 169 now they just adding the light kit as an "excuse" to buy it for 300 sorry but this is what is up to traxxas
I bought a Stampede 4x4 VXL over 10 years ago, and at the time I loved it. I bought a Granite BLX v3 last year, and I have to admit, it's the far superior platform. Way more durable, way more speed, much better handling, much better electronics. I actually have two Granites, one brushless and one brushed. The brushed one I got for $150 new from TowerHobbies, just couldn't pass it up at that price.
I bought a $90 Granite 2wd for my son and a nearly $400 Senton for myself. Took them to the beach and thrashed them. Had a great time. Granite was noticeably more reliable with connection to controller and just working in general. Hosed them off real good afterward. Got them home at end of week and set them aside. Came back to clean them off a couple weeks later, the Senton was completely rusted all bearings and screws were stuck despite being hosed with fresh water and dried after beach. It is still waiting for its repair, which will take me probably 4 hours and at least $120 in parts. Granite was **completely fine** nothing wrong with it at all. Simplicity at its best. *The moral of the story: Granite can handle abuse, is cheap as f, and is the biggest no brainer buy for an RC novice.* (and if you ever dare to buy a senton, which in hindsight was a dumb decision, you must disassemble and clean the whole the within a couple days of getting it dirty). Granite 2wd is on sale right now for $99 and you can just grab a couple spare nimh batteries and not go down the LiPo rabbit hole with storage charging and all that pain in the ass stuff. I do not work for Arrma, matter of fact I hate the Senton. I'm just a random dude who has owned both. But the cheap brushed motor Granite 2wd is FANTASTIC and the best value imaginable.
Arrma seems to be the better choice because it is easier to get going from the start and no need for a adapter to charge it. I love both brands but as a kid I feel as though traxxas and their colors catch the eye better as well as the upgrades. I’d like to see this same comparison and run the same batteries in both on lipo and the alternative tires that come on the stampede.
I'm a Traxxas fanboy, I like my stampede. My kids chose the Granite over the stampedes at the hobby shop. It broke my heart! 😥 They now have XMAXs and never looked back. Nothing gives you more joy than bashing an XMAX! It's out of control like a cartoon character which is what makes it so fun, lol.
One thing everyone forgets is the cross compatibility between the traxxas 1/10 platforms, you can slap a Hoss center diff in it, steel shafts off the XO-1, alloy hubs from the slash, and its virtually unbreakable. The RTR tyres arent great on either truck, but the electronics in the stampede will outlast just about any other RTR on the market. At the end of the day, they are similar enough that you're gonna have fun no matter which one you get. But if you have any other traxxas 1/10 4×4s, just get the stampede, saves buying an entirely new bucket of spares 🤣
That was a great comparison. As they always say in racing tires make the difference. It's been my personal experience that the Traxxas motor is more durable. I also wondered what the gear ratios are in each truck. I think the Granite had the edge but tires was a bigg difference.
Nice video mark I have the hole arrma mega 550 line up and arrma brushed motors burn out fast and smell way worse than the traxxas 12t that is why I replace all of my arrma motors with Traxxas ones also I think the arrma is geared higher to help out with the bigger tires.
Arena does have good cars but I have two traxxas the slash 4x4 vxl and maxx v2 and I love them both. I’m getting a granite 3s blx 4x4 so I hope it’s good but from what I’ve seen traxxas looks better but they all look awesome regardless of brand
I haven't seen brushed motors and nicd's on a truck in like 10 years. The BLX granite is a beast, but think most of my crawlers are faster than both these trucks.
Granite is much more planted than the Traxxas! Have the 2wd 3s vxl which is just insane! Both are excellent platforms! I love both products! But man I love my x maxxx! The granite is a great handling r .c ! 👍👍🤙😎👽
I would LOVE to get an Arrma truck (or car- can you say Vendetta?)- but I have all my Traxxas batteries and chargers and I can get parts down the street- so I'm gonna stick with that
I bought an brushed arrma granite blue like the one in the video on offer up & love it a week later I bought a new arrma granite brushless blx edition & love it more.
Granite has more plastic and the motor is questionable. It won't last as long as the Stampede. Arrma cuts corners on certain rcs. It does have a lower cg though. So a better comparison may be the 4x4 Rustler. However, I don't think anyone should be buying the brushed versions. The better value is brushless.
Really debating ordering a "monster truck" for bashing about... Contemplating the Granite or Vorteks, or the AE Rival MT10... kinda leaning toward the Vorteks...
My granite did that right out of the box the esc for the granite Burns up the motor try a 12 turn brushed traxxas motor in it the esc won't burn it up😜✌️😎
Arrma tough baby. I just bought the brushed one because I already had a blx100 system with the blx 3200kv in my slash so I saved a lot of money it rips my favorite 1/10 scale monster truck it's a beast I love it 😎😁🤟🤬😂🤪😜🤔
Shock caps and axles are problems on the Stampede. Shocks leak and break axles just as often on the Granite. Both have servo issues as well. The Stampede for sure has a lot more upgrades available. Try to find axles for the Granite that hold up as good as XO1 axles do on the Stampede. Both have their place and are a lot of fun. That being said i had a ton of problems with my Arrma Typhon 3s and traded it for a Losi Rock Rey.
Imo arrma has the best 3s lineup for the price to performance, my senton 3s brushless is better than my slash vxl wich I think is like 80 to 100$ more I could be wrong been a while since I bought a 3s vehicle!
Arrma granite 100%. I have both and I've beat the shit out of my arrma. The stampid is just a short course with bigger tires. Not really a monster truck.
I got a hard one for you to do. Traxxas maxx vs tekno Mt 410! Do a review between the 2. Unless your scared about pissing one of your sponsors off? Lmao
That stampede had those awful standard xl 5 type wheels and tires on them It would have been faster had it had proper tires and wheels on it and handled better
Best cheap 4x4 ain't none them lmao 🤣🤣🤣 flyhal 610-hbx2995 in my eyes cost like 100 bucks both run lipos and not nickle and you get 2 lipos with it and comes with a solid center differential and faster than both are parts are 60% cheaper than both in question only downfall you need PVA glue the wheel nuts on haha 😂😂
When it comes to entry level and 1/10th 3S Brushless, Arrma wins by a landslide. Yes the performance is similar but Arrma 1/10ths are known for legendary durability and so it Traxxas, however most Traxxas cars require upgrades to equal the durability of the Arrmas. Also the Arrmas get a warranty and cost a bit less, which leads to an overall massive win in value for the Arrmas. In 6S and 8S trucks, things change but in 1/10th brushed and 3S brushless, Arrma just kills it.
Arrma Granite DESTROYS the Traxxas Stampede in every category. I know I'm going to hear BS from the Traxxas Fan-Bois. Face it, the Granite is a better platform. BUT I do like the Traxxas colors better. AND I own several Traxxas and Arrma vehicles and they BOTH make some great Bashers and other vehicle platforms. You like what YOU like. The stampede needs to be revamped and I don't mean add some lights and call it a "NEW" version. So the stampede had lights... whoopty dooo..... did it add to the performance, handling, or speed?? NOPE. Lights delete from battery time. That means less run time.
