Thanks for posting! I was wondering if this drive was worth $100. Definitely overpriced at $180 but it's on sale right now for $99.99 at Best Buy.. I'll probably pick on up :)
Can anyone give instructions on the automatic backup and restoring of "Individual Files" - The only option seems to show entire folders, but not individual files. It's easy to drag and drop and use this as an external drive, but the purpose of "automatic" is for the software to do it for you each day. I see a bunch of files within the backup folders, but they are of course are all encrypted so you can't just select them. Any help is appreciated, Frustrated with lack of instructions.
I've got a 2024 MacBook Pro, thunderbolt 4 connections. Using an OWC dock, I have this plugged in, software installed, looks ready to start file sharing. However, the software is not recognizing anything connected to my doc, even via USB3. I can't start transferring with any of my GoPro's or SD cards. Is this because my MacBook is connected to the dock via thunderbolt 4?
15 f*****g years???? My toshiba has been working great since 6 years even after lots and lots of falls and i am amazed. I have ordered a 5tb wd portable hdd.do you have any advice on increasing hdd life span?
You should be able to just plug it in and it should self install. You should also be able to go into the drive and there is also a installation program in there too. If that doesnt work, then it either may not be compatible with your computer or some defect. Hope this helps.
You may need to format the hard drive on your computer. I would suggest doing a youtube search for "how to format external hard drive." Sorry I dont have a video on this, but lots of good videos are out there. Hope this helps.
BestBuy did a backup of my dad's old Macintosh computer using a WD easystore 8TB External Hard Drive and for whatever reason, I can not get my windows 10 to recognize it's even there. Any helpful tips? Thanks
Not too sure about that. Typically your computer should auto recognize it. Could be formatted differently by best buy. Might need to talk to best buy about that.
Yeah you’ll lose data converting the format.. best way is to use windows utility.. if you wanna do fat32 you’ll need to use command prompt and be ready it will take a few hours!
You should be able to download it to the external. It may not run as smooth since its an external HD. I'm not sure if this is compatible with a console though. I'm not much of a gamer so I cant be for sure on this.
It’s fine for gaming on older titles.. most ps4 era games and under.. even on pc… newer titles will work fine you might experience pop in… it depends on the game and optimizations.. for storing should be a issue
Do you see the drive when you plug it in? If so, you should be able to go into it and there should be an installation program file inside the drive. Otherwise, I'm not sure. You may need to visit the WD website to find an installation file. Hope this helps!
@@mrgarywong I see the drive but when I double click nothing happen, even i right click n see the file I dont see any option to install. I had older WD 1tb and that works flawlessly. Do I need to be connected internet to install this?
@@PoeJeter no. It's $60 dollars for the 2t. That's what I paid, but I had $5 bucks off so yeah technically $65. And it was brand new. Not $70 though. $65
@@palestar828 it would probably cost me 10x either of our prices if I were to have to get it from where you are. 3bd-4bd house on Midwest could be anywhere from $800-$1500/mo while a studio apartment on the west coast could be up to or over $2500/mo Moral of the story, congratulations on paying $5-$10 less that other prices mentioned in this videos comments from whereTF you are in the 🌎 you should go buy lottery tickets with that $ you might even with another $5-$10 Congratulations 🎊 on not getting robbed 🔫 stay safe
