i love my intex mariner 3. much thicker than their other boats. and has a floor. it handles rapids and rocks great. just need a cheap gas outboard. where i live no reg number needed on 10 footers.

Nice! Why gas over electric? I feel like I usually see that model on a electric trolling motor

@@SteveStomber I put a 40lb Minn Kota on my Mariner 4 and the speed is not bad, but one of the stretches I want to do is 3 miles across a lake and I question whether I can do it on a 75 Amp Hour AGM. They're rated for 3 hp and I can definitely see the appeal of a small gas outboard for a little more speed and a lot more range.

I have LOVED my Bris Kaboat. I've had it absolutely everywhere, including some places with some extreme waters, and haven't had one problem. I dig my Bris!

I have a Camping Survivals 10ft Dinghy, and can absolutely confirm they are absolutely brilliant. Extremely well made with side protection rubber straps. You can use upto a 10hp motor. I have no issues with it in chop, the storage bag is big enough to get it back into, very strong trans. It's an absolute bargain. Pack size is approx 800mm wide 500mm high and 40omm wide and weighs 30kg

I've taken my Mariner 4 out once so far, with 2 people. I think 3 would be fairly comfortable and 4 adults would border on silly. Probably Mariner 3, 4, Excursion 5 you should just go ahead and subtract one person from listed capacity. Which I pretty much could sense before I bought it, which is why I got the 4 instead of the 3. I do like the boat.

Thanks for the comment Kurt! These inflatables give you a great bang for your buck, and to be a honest a real boat can be way to much responsibility for many of us

Ive had the Intex Excursions 5 a few years ago. Test ran it with the Intex motor mount, 55 lbs trolling motor & 12v marine battery. It works. Ran it in two lakes but mostly in a harbor. I was stupid enough once to take it out of the bay following some touring kayaks... Yeah not wise. Fortunately I made it back to the protected part of the harbor safely and learned my lesson rather quick. Only custom thing I did with it was add a wooden floor and some clip on lights in case I wanted to fish at night. It lasted me 17 outings and 2 punctures within a year and 7 months. The floor seams finally have way and came apart. Ask far as I was concerned the boat served it's purpose of being my first water craft to test if I really wanted to do the whole boat thing. It was $130 + $150 motor + $100 battery so for under $400 it worked for me. I think my future purchase will be the same 14' bris kaboat you have but in grey. I've been keeping an eye on it for years but your the first person to make a more comprehensive video on it I've seen here. Thanks for the video.

update I finally got my survivals camping boat registered it was a bit of a hassle. The first time I called and went in they said no way. Then I called again and they said no problem, so don't give up try again if they don't do it the first time.

Well this guy obviously has done no research on intex models. I have a sea hawk 3 with a 2.5hp eir cooled mud skipper and especially on choppy water it goes very well. I even had a boat speed past me and cause a massive wave and it handle well and kept a decent balance. Ive just ordered an intex mariner 4 and I can only imagine how good thats going to handle compared to the sea hawk. The intex mariner 4 is lagit built like a white water raft and can handle class1-3 rapids. There are videos on them and even people managing to put 6hp engine aswell

@SteveStomber
@SteveStomber Год назад
I haven’t had any issues with my bris kaboat but I’ve never done any river action so its tough to give a good recommendation. I would think you would want a wider one for more stability and you definitely want an engine, paddling is not fun as it catches alot of air

I did just that with the receipt from seller and they will not give me a number or register it either. Different states have different rules and NC is full of stupid laws. There is no good reason for them to not register it, it would only bring in more money for them. I don’t understand.

@Matt Parker yes sir or better known as a hin (Hull Identification Number) what you need to do is take pictures of the boat email them to your local dmv tell them what engine you plan on putting on it, they will issue a hull number then it's just a matter of registering that number and putting it on the boat !

Amen to that! When it comes to an inflatable boat I think/hope most can justify spending alittle more The Saturns and Bris are definitely a great value for the $$$ and are well built. So far my $600 model is on season 3 and for $200 a season with minimal operating costs its a nice a lil rig

dude help me out, for bay fishing that pretty close to shore, would you say 14ft is better handling the water vs 10ft? I'm also preferring to be able to easily transport the boat (e.g. load up on top of the pickup truck),
@SteveStomber
@SteveStomber Год назад
Sounds like your considering kaboat vs dinghy? a typical dinghy is 10ft but is wider. For the bay id recommend the dinghy

What motor do you recomended for the intex excursion 5?
@SteveStomber
@SteveStomber Год назад
I think most people power those with electric trolling motors, the transom probably can't support the weight of a gas powered engine
@kurtwpg
@kurtwpg Год назад
It depends what you want to do with it. For a distance of say 1 mile, a 40-55 lb thrust trolling motor with a Deep Cycle AGM or Lithium Battery. For a little more range, same motor with 2 batteries wired in parallel (not series). For more speed and range, a 2.5hp gas outboard.

Hey Marvin to clarify I have owned a Bris inflatable for 3 years and love it. The 7 reasons to not get one video is just to bring to light some reasons why an inflatable might not be right for you based on my experience. Ultimately its up to each person to decide what makes the most sense for their style of boating and budget

@@marvinmondezie1618 My boat is still 100% as we get into my third summer with it (Still got it never had any issues). I'd expect the Saturn to be just as reliable. Depending on your budget the decision to make whether to go with Saturn's inflatable kayak (Kaboat) vs full size inflatable (wider)
