It might not last long as 10 General Tso's tho.... the propeller is obviously made of very cheap plastic and will break upon the first impact.

@@DiabloOutdoors there are shear pins inside the housing though so hopefully those would break first as intended!

Yeah, it's a centrifugal clutch, like a mini bike. My 2HP Honda has the same thing. From what I see on this vid, the 2HP is faster, as is my 1.3HP electric.

​@@expmovingleroyI changed the spark plug, upgraded the fuel lines, wrapped some black tape under the handle so you don't have to hold the throttle, and wrapped a bungee cord around it so it doesn't kick up when coasting.

Certainly can’t beat it!!

​@@BoatBustersso I actually took my 6hp hangkai out on about 8-10 lake trips until I realized I needed to add gear oil. I finally did add gear oil just before my last trip to the lake this weekend, and it ran just fine all three days! Can't believe it

It’s both 😁 it has an impeller to cool the exhaust and pumps water. Better safe than sorry for me!

i was looking at hangkai 4 stroke 4hp for around $300. this looks fun n cheaper but im not great at keeping 2 strokes running. 🍻

@@davidsuchite9757 there are no stupid questions! We all start somewhere. I would not use this for a trolling motor though. I would get an electric trolling motor especially if you’re fishing. This would however make a great “kicker” to have next to your normal outboard permitting it will fit your transom. For emergencies or to get you out on a horsepower restricted lake would both be ideal uses. Unfortunately, you cannot lock the throttle in place without modification

@@BoatBusters ya I have a little electric already. It’s just weak and barley pushed my boat which was n 1 hand isn’t bad for trolling but I’m not sure how long the battery will last so if it dies and I want to keep fishing I want a back up. Idk what to get though I don’t want to spend over 500$.

@@davidsuchite9757 if you have a spot to mount a foot controlled trolling motor you can find a good used Minn Kota on marketplace for $100 - $200 and then spend the rest of the budget on another good deep cycle battery

@@Thechristianfight I guess I use mine differently, I am in stealth mode creeping up rivers for smallmouth, rarely out on lakes with it. On lakes I’m in my canoe or jonboat.

@@tarmo4435 this is a fair question! They do actually have spare parts for this motor (I was surprised as well). Lots of people without mechanical knowledge may not want to take the risk of buying second hand and may not be comfortable working on motors themselves. It’s more comforting to some folks to buy something factory new, even if it is subpar quality. I agree for people like you and I, I would always rather buy an older motor of higher quality and work on it myself however some people just aren’t comfortable with that I’d say. And unfortunately now a days taking a motor to the shop for even the most basic things will cost you the entire purchase price of this brand new motor. So at $180, I could see it being an attractive offer for someone who just wants a little something for the occasional kayak or canoe trip, or as an emergency kicker. Plus you don’t have to deal with finding a good quality used motor, dealing with dishonest sellers, and having that fear of something breaking. I’m with you- but those are my thoughts on why some may like it!

I bought the one i have for giggles. Have not used it in a few years. Fwiw the older Hondas are getting hard to get parts for. My dad has about a 1995 Honda 5hp he bought second owner when it was still newer. Still kicks around whatever boat hes running. But its getting tired and some stuff it needs is NLA

I bought one and it sprayed water from the cooling jacket from first startup. I tried to send it back through eBay and was told .... don't send it back we will give you a full refund...... A free motor ????? Tried everything to no avail. Only possibility I thought of was to wrap a coil of copper pipe around the cylinder and run the water through it. Gave it to friend His headache now

@@TestBot4231 not sure about that, the electric motors we have probably have more thrust than that thing and lighter. Your kayaks hull is the limiting factor on speed.

@@TestBot4231 a 2 stroke on a kayak would suck, I’d just use my boat. You’re not going to go 10mph on a kayak the hull won’t allow it, I can peddle about 5.5mph but only for a sprint. Motors of course allow to go much further faster.

Yeah I put gear oil in it. Fwiw the leg itself is an old Yamaha 2hp clone. The motor is something else. The bigger Hangkai are straight up yammi clones. One guy on RU-vid modified his with a fixed clutch. I always intended to but never got to it. And now all my boats are too big to use it

@@BoatBusters impellers are there to pump water into the engine to cool it. Air cooled engines do not have to pump water to cool because they are cooled by air. Airflow is created bij to rotation of the engine. No impeller in this engine.

I assumed it would be 100% air cooling because it has a flywheel with air blades that blows air over the cylinder to cool it, so the engine also has the option of water cooling, which I have never seen. normally it's one or the other.
