@@leob4403 Then go back in time and watch it a year ago... Who comes to an old tech video to complain that youre not in that year anymore?? My god dude, seriously. Also he does updated videos quite often. go cry somewhere else.
Whoa. Porfessional level testing of equipment in my budget range. Didn't expect to come across a gem like this. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this! Subbed
I bought your cheap option for an artist projector from last years list, and the mural in my son's room looks amazing for it. He now uses the project to watch Mickey Mouse club house on the ceiling. Thank you for recommending the worst scoring projector because you realize it had great potential outside of media quality. My baby doesn't care about screen door, pixel density, or 4K resolution. He just wants to go inside Mickeys club house.
How large was the mural? (If you don’t mind me asking) I’m looking for a projector for around 8ftx10ft murals. Do you think the projector is sufficient for that size?
Hey, sorry, had comment notifications off. It was the EZCast Beam J2. The size of the mural really depends on the distance from the wall it's being projected on. The video was "Should you Buy a portable projector."
Great job on the video, very impressive. You reviewed and compared so many projectors in less than 10 minutes, provided summary spreadsheets, links to each... Wow! Setting a high standard for other reviewers :). I'm so impressed, I'm looking for a way to purchase so you get the referral, but I'm in Canada. Not sure if that'll work for you. But at least I'll like and share.
I have been researching projectors forever. Your videos are so informative and I love how you do the testing. I am still so torn about what projector to get. I really like the portability since I'll be using it in my man cave and outdoors for a few movies. I watched your portable projector reviews and wanted to get the Mars pro ii but the input lag kept me from pulling the trigger. I like the GV30 but for that price point I feel I can get a better one. I am so lost. If you had a budged of say around 500 dollars and could only have one projector. Which would you get? Thanks a ton!
@@TheHookUp battery would be a huge plus. I'll mainly be using it for football games and movie nights. My attic is very limited on wall outlets. If you have a recommendation for a battery powered and non battery powered I'll take both suggestions! After researching for 2 months I might as well wait for black Friday sales 😅
@@WillKoz Looks like you got one shot and you blew it Pal. lolz. Hes not just a badass with these things....he's probably more of one with security cameras! So hes busy Im sure. Did you go with one yet?
@@metaldreams3595 yea I ended up going with the GV30 and have zero regrets. It's exactly what I was looking for. I honestly can't find one thing I don't like about it even after a few months of owning.
@@WillKoz Wow really? Thats awesome. Glad it worked out. I have sent back TWO so far. They do lie a lot. But it helped me figure out what I really want. He helped open my eyes about Input Lag for gaming...so I think Im goign with the Happrun but a newere model....Im just worried the newer model wont have the low input lag like the model in this vid...
This is fantastic! One suggestion- since many are using these for digital decorations, I’ve found keystone correction to be important to help with placement. Would be nice to know if any of these are better at that than others. Wish I would have found this last week. LOL
Agree with this comment. Keystone would be great thing to have evaluated, especially in the next step up in price point where this is more commonly a feature.
$1500 of your own money? I'll buy one of ya. I wouldn't want your wife to get mad at u for having all that stuff all over the house. N I'm a humanitarian like that.
Thanks for helping to narrow everything down. I took a look at some of the $60 projectors you mentioned, but they're now closer to $80. The FEBFOXS listed at $90 are now $80, the HAPPRUN is now $90. Can't find the WIMIUS S4
Not in the market for one, but this was informative, entertaining (cuz I'm a geek), and well produced. Thank you for doing all you do for all of us to enjoy!
Was going to pirchase the HAPPRUN however thr link given above when it comverts to UK store goes to a clockwe projector? Is the Happrun not available on the UK? Thanks!
Thanks for this review. I needed a somewhat ok projector for the bedroom. It needs to be real small and versatile so I went with the Yowhick. All projectors in this scale are pretty bad so this seems to be the best of the bunch. Contemplated a larger format like the happrun but it just wouldn't fit. :(
Thank you for taking the time to do this video with these projectors as well as your latest one I will definitely use a link and share your channel with other People.😊
I haven't tried it, but plan to in the near future. I think Nexigo has another one coming out above that too (PJ40?). Hoping to do an updated video on that price range in December.
It's already one year passed -- it would be awesome to see an updated video on the same topic. It was a significant difference between 2 years ago and 1 year ago projectors)
It's a good video telling us which one shows up the best but it doesn't tell us which ones crap out the most. I would be interested in buying the most reliable one with the least breakdowns or overheating or shut off and on. Good video though 👍
Got the Happrun L1 from your link. Very impressed for the price. If not for your reviews, I would have never attempted to buy a sub $400 projector even for outdoor play. Note, Amazon is shipping the H1 from that link. Looks the same to me from what I can tell.
Thank you for trying all these projectors for us to prevent us from buying fake bad projectors rather than good cheap ones Please keep making these projectors videos For the $200 range would be very helpful too Every year new improved 1080p projectors comes out with better specs at a cheaper price If you could do this kind of projector comparison video every year It would be so so so so helpful Thank you for time and hardwork Have a nice day :)
Weird, I see plenty of reviews of the TMY you show here but not a single review for the model that has WiFi and BT. Also, there's 3 more WiMiUS models on amazon (two of them under $100) aside from the one you show here. All in all though, wow! Excellent job on breaking everything down!
Your video is exactly what I was looking for! Been looking around for the last few days to find the best budget projector for my room and I had no idea what to look for on all these amazon listings for 3498324 different projectors 😂. Thank you for this video!
Thank you for this review, I watched several videos before Christmas. I wanted one but didn't have a big budget. So your video was the last of 5 videos I watched on budget projectors. I settled on the Febfox. I couldn't be more pleased. I use it on my days off outside against the house. The house has a light green paint on it. I was going to purchase a screen, but I have to tell you, after watching it and adjusting some of the brightness and color, I just don't think I need it. The picture is that good. And I don't have to take it down and put it back up. I tried the cast option, but the best way to watch movies and or videos,is to hook it up to HDMI with a connector to your phone. Then I Bluetooth to a speaker. Bam! Outdoor theater. I'm sure It would be better with a screen and may do that in the future, but even on the green paint it looks great. Thanks again!
I'm wondering, would a Fire TV stick work on your top pics that have an HDMI input? It would add the ability to stream over your home network, apps like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Plex, etc... Also, I notice you didn't cover keystone correction features. Any input on which ones have the best keystone correction, or is that something you didn't test?
What the hell, I just stumbled across the best channel, this is perfect. You are doing saints work here sir, thank you :) You really are "The Hook Up" LMAO
I know this was for the cheap projectors, but out of curiosity I checked out the ~$200 range VAABZZ and saw it has been unavailable with the latest review from March 2022. Looks like that truly was a scam projector that faulted out after ~month of use. The NexiGo PJ10 has been perfect since I exchanged, to give some input if you ever make that update video, although it looks like you mention a newer/different version. Great video!
Not sure what happened with the VAABZZ in the US. It's still being sold in the UK. They sent out a firmware update for the ones sold in the US that lowered the brightness slightly and prevented the lines on the screen (pretty sure it was just an overheating issue, which could explain why some people had issues quickly while others had no problems)
Another great informative video - these are very detailed and you share a lot of information in your videos / website - 1 problem I have as UK subscriber and (fan of your work) is the links and items don’t seem to be available in the uk Amazon- I follow links ( in the hope they are affiliate links ) and search for these names only to not be able to see them …. Are they only available in the US? Thanks
Dude.. What a comprehensive video this is. I'm shocked at the value of this video. Everyone needs to do their videos like this, holy shit. This is a one in a million video!
Can projectors be used as a screen mirror for your phone? My tv hasnt been working too well with my samsung so im thinking of using this to screen mirror
Well I just bought a TMY projector based on my own research and to be honest I think this video just showed me that its decent for what I paid for it and it will be a great addition to my bedroom for watching movies on "the big screen". Cant wait to set it up it arrives today I will come back and edit my comment to list my own pros and cons on it.
Lovely work as usual! Thanks for putting in this effort! Is there a particular one you'd go with for outdoor, digital decorations? Is 1080p important in this aspect?
I'm using both the Happrun and Yowhick for outdoor digital decorating at the moment. The Yowhick is nice because it's very small so I can hide it in a tombstone prop I already had made. I run my AtmosFX files off of a raspberry pi that needs to use 720p to not freeze, so 1080p isn't that important to me out there.
So out of the top 3 only the Haprunn supports netflix without a Roku stick? I’m just looking for a projector too take camping and put on Netflix nothing crazy. Previously bought a projector without knowing it doesn’t support netflix :(
None of them will support netflix natively. This is an HDCP certification issue, it's best to get a streaming stick like a roku, firestick, or similar.
This video needs more likes and views. Love the comparisons especially for people like me that just buys Amazon stuff based off stars and amount of reviews 😅

wow amazing review! Thank you!! unforunately the WIMIUS S4 is not available anymore.. what do you think about WIMIUS K2 or WIMIUS S6? Both for 100$ now
Awesome timing, had a digital decor projector die and needed a cheap replacement. Made sure to use your link. Your reviews are excellent and to the point, thank you!! Only small suggestion is to mention size/weight/mounting. You mentioned some of these on some, but not all. Important info for people needing to put these in weird places for decoration prrojections.
LOL to the these brand/device names. Who comes up with this stuff??? It's almost like they use an algorithm that takes parts of random words and jams them together.
Thank you so much for your detailed review. In Germany, none of the above mentioned product is available (except for some products from wimius). Would you recommend wimius p61 or wimius k1?
Anyone know of a similar channel for the Canadian market? These videos are great, but I keep watching, then want to buy something THU recommends, only to find it's either not available in Canada or priced ridiculously. The WIMIUS S4 for example is $90 USD, but $220+tax CAD on Amazon.ca $90 USD converted to CAD should be closer to $125. Thanks. Really enjoy the content tho 🙂
Hey there, just ordered the happrun H1 I have a question about audio. Ill be using it with my 7.2 system in the barn, running video via a roku plugged into the projector. My receiver is an old school beast..yahama rxv2095. No hdmi. Currently using a bluetooth adapter connected to receiver via optical for music from google home, and optical from my tv (which is going away on account of projector). Do you recommend using the Bluetooth adapter, or 3.5mm to rca, or something else? I would like to retain my dolby support which obviously the happrun doesnt support for its internal speakers, but it will run it if using external speakers correct? Bonus question, if you reply before prime days is over, do you recommend the h1 over the nexigo pj10? I can get both at the same price and the nexigo looked better on paper but couldnt find much info on it so it went with the one youve mentioned several times.
Fantastic information and advice! In terms of budget projectors circa €100 - woudl you have any recomendations for those available on Amazon uk or in Europe? Thanks
@thehookup Hello, thank you so much for such a thorough review. Super helpful! I clicked on your link in the description to purchase the WIMIUS S4, however, when it redirected to Amazon, the projector looked different (boxy rather than rounded, and no lens cover at all vs the sliding cover we see in your video). I am worried it will have different results than what you tested. Do you have the link to the exact model you tested? Thanks again!
Wimius, like h said , is the closest thing to major, name brand among the cheaspies....I wouldnt worry about getting the newer model being worse quality
