When I’ve got enough money saved up I will be contacting you to do my engine I’m one of the remap victims and now have a cracked piston my Prado is sitting waiting for her new heart . Great videos mate keep up the good work cheers .
I love my Prado, but she’s 17 years old now. I think if I cracked a piston I’d be tempted to drop a Chevy LS crate motor in it just to see if I could make it work!
Good information regarding value of a new engine vs reco. That new engine would not have been run hot at the factory, rotating oil pressure test at best if oil filter housing is fitted.
Hi @Fourby4Diesel - I've been a fan of your videos (and learnt a lot over the years) Are you able to provide how I can get in contact with you as unfortunately for me, my Prado 150 GXL (285K kms) that I've had since new (and been a dream) finally failed just past Stawell on the way to Adelaide last week. Watching your videos, it appears to be a dead/cracked cylinder and I agree with your comments on this video, I'd prefer to replace the engine with a new Toyota factory long engine. I'm not on Facebook and on another video you posted (circa Aug2020) you provided a mobile # to SMS. I'm assuming this is still the best way to reach out....also, I'm based on the South East (Melb) and where is your workshop located? Thx
Has toyota fitted stronger factory pistons to these new long or short blocks? Are we expecting to see 1gd's cracking pistons or have they fixed the piston design with those.
O.K. you can get a new motor for $10 000 Or come to me and I will rebuild for $40 000. That's rebuilding your engine , not pulling it out and putting it back in. $10 000 is a good deal
