Just paid 349 dollars on PSA for Father's day. Didn't get it yet but it's a 349 dollar gun in 45. Actually with taxes, shipping, and transfer fee it's 433 dollars.

I have the 10mm version of the XDM Elite and really like it. I tried several other 10mm handguns at the time (S&W, Sig, Glock) and the XDM won hands down. Very controllable recoil and it feeds anything I put through it, including 200 and 220 grain hardcast.

I bought that same gun last fall for $360 and never regretted it. Not a big fan of the rear sight but it works. After shooting the first mag I took the mag well off, it feels good in the hand and shoots great.

You can get mag sleeves so you can use 13 roung glock mags in the G30 series. I think they're called x grip.

I like them, have a 10mm and a 45. I removed the magwells and put the smaller baseplates on. I am not a fan of the sights, I put XS sights on the 10mm, and have a set to put on the second gun.

Just got me a 10mm osp at sportsmens wearhouse for 577$ with range package and 3 10 round mags. Unfortunately there is a new law that makes me wait 7 days before I can be transferd to my name even tho my back round checked out Immediately as good !! Oh well 7 days to blue ball my self till shes in my hands baby!!! Looking to get my mom into this 45acp osp ver

I miss the Mod. 2 versions that had the grip zone grip. They fit my hand a little better. But the grip zone on the grip was a little goofy. 45 acp does seem to be fading away slowly but surely.

cz9mmusa did a review on this gun last year…. Been waiting for a review of the xdm elite 3.8 .45 vs G30. Nobody seems to want to do it… perhaps I should?

I have one of these with the Dragonfly RDO. I was not very excited by it. I had a lot of nitpicks. Every time I try something else to improve in one area or another, I always miss the XDM. It has become my favorite side arm. Good trigger (no, not 1911-good), very reliable, optimum compromise grip angle, and it manages recoil amazingly well. It shoots like a bigger gun than it is. I love it. I often wish it were a bit smaller for carry, but then it would not shoot as nicely. So, I had to get a couple more guns to fill the tiny gun niche.

Thanks for the presentation. The XDMs are underrated; great guns. Would like to see a comparison between this and a Glock 30, perhaps the Gen5 version whenever that comes out.

"Grab'em while you can..." do you know something we don't? Seems like Springfield will discontinue them in favor of more Echelon models? As to the extended magazines and the mag well.... I just sanded down the sleeve so it fits nicely. Took a while but it was worth it.

If the grip saftey was such a problem, they would have done away with it 113 year's ago. Anyone with any size hands won't have an issue.

Most modern firearms do not have a grip safety. Seems to me they are going away with it.

I love the XDM and have two of them. My only complaint with the design is the roll pin that goes through the ejector and which the sear spring pushes against. The end of that pin sits right next to the disconnector and I've seen this in person on a 10mm XDM, that pin will work its way inward a couple thousands of an inch and jam up the disconnector. Rendering the trigger dead.

The only reason I don't own this is because of that magwell. I know they're removable but it leaves a gap (at least on the 9mm).

What ammo would you recommend for this gun for self defense? Not sure which 45 ammo will expand reliably from a 3.8 inch barrel. Perhaps Federal 230 HST JHP?

Speer gold dot 230 grain short barrel or hornady critical duty 220 grain +p.
