Hello Dr.Berry. I'd like to express my thanks to you. Here is our three months of journey. My husband has a family history of high cholesterol. His doctor gave him different statins over the years. Even though he has no diabetes in his family, he developed Type 2 diabetes due to usage of statins - vicious circle. In December 2021, his A1C came out as 9.2, triglyceride as 612, cholesterol as 240. He has frightened one of your videos that you were talking about A1C level. We tossed out all his medication aside and tried a diet very closer to Keto for three months. In April 2022, his numbers came out as A1C as 5.9, triglyceride as 180, cholesterol as 202. It is doable to lower &/or reverse triglyceride, cholesterol, and Type 2 diabetes without medications. I'd like to thank you for your afford to enlighten people with your videos.

Having an instant pot/pressure cooker has really helped me make my own bone broth - can do it in less than a couple of hours rather than taking up the whole day. In fact, I cooked a whole chicken one day (less than an hour) and then made bone broth the day after. It's a great cycle.

Yes. I save all bones from chicken and steak in the freezer separately. When i have bunch I cook about 2 hours in Instantpot with enough water to cover the bones by about an inch add salt. Natural release. I sometimes add an onion if I have one to use up. I have bought chicken feet and add those to chicken bones, too. Lots of good collagen. @teresasvk2443 9:33

I've been making bone broth in the instant pot: ox tail, turkey necks, garlic, bay leaves and cloves. It is a great base for any soup as well as simply hot in a mug. I noticed some people complaining about the smell of beef bone broth. When I use less than 4 bay leaves the broth does have an off kinda odor. I've no idea why the amount of bay leaves makes a difference but it does.

Almost all gelatin you find in stores is pork based, in case anyone is kosher like our family. Beef and fish gelatin are expensive but can be purchased from Amazon. Because I am lazy, I buy a couple rotisserie chickens, take off most of the meat, then put the bones in my crockpot with a little onion, celery, cabbage, garlic cloves, and salt. I cook that for 24 to 48 hours, then strain it. If I want to make soup, I will add cabbage, celery, and some of the chicken. It really is AMAZING!! I have no idea what the macros on my soup are, but I have been eating that pretty consistantly trying to help heal my leaky gut. I LOVE that there is collegen in one of my favorite meals!! My wrinkles keep begging for more, lol!!!

@gathercreatelivewithleslie8340
I do almost the same way, but everything we eat bone wise goes into a freezer bag and when I have enough I make broth I start a huge pot every couple days. I also try and save the odds and ends of vegetables and onion skins etc and use those instead of the more edible pieces. Definitely use at least 1-2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar it helps break down all of the minerals in the bones. After 48 hours or more the bones are almost mush. I can make almost two gallons at a time on the stove. I finish it off with coconut oil on top it doesn't alter the taste if you let it cook ten minutes and helps greatly. I was able to heal ulcerative colitis within a month doing this and eliminating all grains. I drank almost daily to made into chicken soup with parsley on top. My gastroenterologist was astounded. Tastes better than anything I have found and very filling.

I love cooking pigs feet! I cook a half and half mixture of Tamari soy sauce and Sukrin Brown Sugar substitute and cook it down a bit. Then I add a little coconut oil to the bottom of a heavy dutch oven with the pigs feet and pour the soy sauce mixture over them. Then bake at 250 degrees for a couple of hours, until the collagen, which is basically all they are, is starting to separate from the bones. You can also cook these with some chili powder, salt, and a small amount of chicken bone broth. They rock!

Throw it all in and cover with water. Cook for about 7 -8 hours. 14 legs renders 2 quarts gelatinous broth. You can cook it a second round with a bit of ACV for 2 more quarts yield.

I've only been doing the diet for 3 days and have lost 11 pounds of water weight which is great. I feel good, no cravings. Only problem is not being able to eat all of the meal at dinner, cuz I'm just not hungry. Im eating 2 meals a day. Guess I'll need to start blending my veggies to get them all in. Thanks so much for what you do. I love your sense of humor.

I started Keto in January 2022 & about 2 weeks in I went Carnivore with a minimum carbs, mostly in Avocado & Olives. I've never been a skin eater, but I've made some bone broth over the last few years. Now I've been buying chicken thighs & legs, saving my bones & canning the broth. I grill the chicken & eat the crispy skin & other fat, and I've learned to like it! I tried sardines but I can't stomach them, so salmon & chicken thighs & legs are a big part of my menu now!

@@sabrinroble6463 #1 piece of advice for anti-aging skin (aside from clean eating/exercise) is sunscreen every day, rain or shine! Also begin using Retin-A in your 20's and don't stop. Eat healthy, exercise, limited doses of sunshine (you need some to get your Vit D) but sunscreen every day and Retin A are THE game changers. Hate bursting your bubble but the Vichy is really not all that great but if you are happy about it, your skin must need some hyaluronic acid plumping (make sure to follow with moisturizer.) Best to you!

Happy Labor Day! I just discovered your channel and have been busy taking notes! My family are farmers, so we have grass fed beef and organic vegetables. That is a plus. I am approaching 70, need to drop some weight and agree with most of the Keto diet plan.The sugars/white carbs/ alcohol/most dairy all need to be gone from my diet.The fermented foods will be a challenge. I love Kefir and will work on the rest. Regarding bone broth. I am going to try to use bones from organic/grass fed animals. Not sure I heard you cover that aspect. I just bought a container of unflavored gelatin that is made by Great Lakes. It is Kosher and from pasture -raised grass fed beef. September is the perfect time for me to start making bone broth for soups. Thank you for this informative video.

Love love love BONE BROTH plain or mixed bone of chicken turkey beef lamb duck pork. Most we have raised ourselves. Nothing goes to waste. I use a small roaster oven and keep it full so we drink it daily Then I have 2 very large roaster ovens that we fill up. Will can some of the broth. Also freeze dry some. Depending on how much we have it also goes for dog or pig food. Bone broth is one of those things that can make a huge difference in the way we feel. It's not something I notice feeling better while drinking. Man oh man stop drinking it and that's when we can tell big time that we haven't had any. I change it up with different herbs and veg. The add in list some or all depending on what I have or feel like. Celery carrots parsnips onions garlic sea salt pepper corns cracked pepper chili pepper flakes cayenne pepper rosemary thyme oregano sage pine needles ginger turmeric horse radish lemon grass horse radish any type of hot pepper orange or lemon zest parsley cilantro dandelion ACV (apple cider vinegar) Try to use home made when I have it. Sometimes I use my version of Master Tonic which people have named Knock Your Dick in the Dirt Tonic. When the bones are soft we smash them up and go another round. Drain and strain that. All the bits gets mashed and mixed with coconut oil and a bit of kelp & dried powdered egg shells (sometimes brewer's yeast) First stop (long as there are no onions) fill ice cube trays to make doggie treat vitamins. Freeze some for when we make our own dog food. When that is full up we feed the pigs chickens and turkeys the left overs. Then what ever is left IF there is some left it goes into the garden or green house beds or just on the pasture. To make a fast batch using chicken bones we run them through the Instant Pot. Drain the liquids then run the bones through a 2nd time if they are not soft and mashable. We LOVE LOVE LOVE Bone broth It's a main staple with coffee and water.

In the Philippines we have a popular dish called Bulalo. It is so in demand that there are eating places that are popular because the stores are set up in a row, each one competing with the other to make the best tasting bulalo. Bulalo is basically beef bone soup loaded with marrow, tendons, boiled for hours and lots of veggies thrown in when ready to eat like cabbages, pechay, corn and saba, a kind of highly nutritious banana which can be eaten raw, boiled, fried, wrapped in rice paper-you name it. It is thrown in still in their skin thoroughly brushed and cleaned of course. I eat bulalo almost daily. Sipping the soup from a mug or a bowl is an exhilarating experience.

I've been making my own chicken broth for a couple years. It's so easy. Put a whole chicken in the crock pot with no liquid and cook on low for 8 hours. I remove the chicken for eating and drain the liquid and refrigerate. Depending on the chicken, this method produces a few cups of real gel. Then later I once again put the bones back in the crock with water to the top and a little apple cider vinegar to bleach out the minerals and cook for 24 hours. It's so easy and cheap and now I know...a beauty treatment. Yay!
