I always felt Notre Dame was USC’s biggest rival whereas all their rivalries with the other California teams felt like sibling rivalries.

As a church-going Catholic who sometimes wears SC gear to Mass, I nod and give a polite smile anytime I see someone in ND gear looking at me funny... The reason I say USC-UCLA however, is that the video above focuses on in-state rivalries. For example. every Michigan fan would say that Ohio State is their biggest rival, but they absolutely HATE HATE HATE losing to "little brother" Michigan State... something that has happened quite a bit in recent years. Losing to ND stings, but usually there's a grudging admittance that the Irish were a better team on the day. But we expect to beat UCLA, and losing is a humiliation that lasts for a year and we are reminded of that by Bruin family members, friends and co-workers happy to remind us that the Victory Bell is in Westwood. Yes, the overall history of USC-UCLA is one of Trojan dominance, but Bruins often remind me of the "8 in a row" in the '90s... 😡😡😡

@@jerseydevs2000 I understand what you’re saying completely. I actually relate to it a lot as an Oregon fan. If you asked me who I hate the most, it would be by far the Washington Huskies. I cannot for the life of me stand that purple and gold. But it also hurts a lot tremendously whenever we lose to Oregon State because like you said, us Ducks then have to endure our Beaver friends and family and coworkers constantly telling us that they beat us that year. I wish we had an official trophy for that rivalry like you guys in LA do or the Washington teams have with the Apple Cup. We technically do, but it’s nowhere near as cool as either of those rivalries trophies and it’s not really handed over after the games anymore. At least not to my knowledge. But at least we have a substantially higher victory count over them than they do us. Something I can’t say the same about for Washington. But at least we can always remind the Fuskies about 2004-2015.

UCLA is much closer to having a. .500 record against USC than Stanford is. (And UCLA has a winning record against every other PAC-8, PAC-10 or PAC-12 school, except for USC.) Same reason why i feel the GSU-SU is a better rivalry than LSU-Tulane, while it has been around longer than the Bayou Classic, LSU is up 69-22 on Tulane and has only lost to Tulane 4 times in 70 years. I don't really consider those games fr rivalry games when it's so one sided, it makes you wonder why it should be considered a "rivalry" in the first place. Only worse rivalry i can think of is OU-OSU, where Oklahoma is up 88-18 on Oklahoma State.

I wouldn't say it's historically bigger but I'll say it means a bit more than FSU vs UF because FSU vs Miami is a conference game while FSU vs UF is just for bragging rights unless a playoff berth is involved for the winner.

Historically, Florida state would have won many more championships if it weren't for Miami. I can see why he chose fsu vs miami as the better rivalry.

FSU-Fla is bigger. FSU-Miami is BETTER. When FSU and Miami hit their primes at the same time, every game had national title implications on the line. Fla-FSU only had 2 years in the 90s where there national title implications. After that FSU and Miami declined as Florida rose up under Meyer.

Nah you’re good for the Florida one. I’m a Gator fan and while I consider UF Vs FSU one of the bigger rivalry games out there I’d concede it to FSU Vs Miami for the state, even if I hate the hell out of both of those teams. Personally I consider UGA to be our biggest rival.
