My friend has an Immodane deck and yeah its pretty fire. The first game he played he dropped immodane fiery emancipation lava coil and 36'd the table, was nuts

@@704Jackal both burn but slightly different kind of deck, same guy has both built since he loves red, Ojer is more just play pingers and get people. I think ojer may b a bit better overall but Immodane works much better with dmg doublers/tripplers so if ur going for that big explosive 1 shot immodane is better

The first commander deck I ever made was Silvar & Trynn. No idea what I was doing. Just slapped together a bunch of cards I had laying around. I still have it! Follows all the color rules and has a pretty damn good mana count, but the sorceries and creatures are all over the place. My selection process was 'Can Silvar eat this?' And that is where the thinking stopped lol

Just realized that if you have Imodane and a global damage doubler like Furnace of Rath, your burn spell gets doubled when it hits the creature and then doubled *again* when Imodane hits all players, dealing quadruple to each opponent. Lightning bolt deal 6 to a creature and 12 to each player 😮😮😮😮

My top commander for the year is the new heliod. My groups learned that he absolutely shouldn't be allowed to stick. If I untap with him in play, I usually win.

Crazy thing about so many legendary creatures coming out now is lists like this can vary wildly. Aside from the mono red at the start, I wouldn’t want any of the others as decks. But there are a tonne of new legendaries that do appeal to me.

@@704JackalI haven’t played the new mono red burn, but I have an Imodane deck and it is craaaaaazy good. Can pull wins out on T4/5 and takes everyone out in one hit. IMO it’s stronger than the new commander because your opponents can choose to assign the damage differently, meaning his ability doesn’t always work. That’s my understanding anyway!

Imodane works so well with damage multipliers. take one of the x3 multipliers with a lightning bolt. your bolt will do 9 to the creature, then imodane will turn that into 24 to the face.

If you like uncommon commanders Totentanz is such a fun deck to build, especially with other great rats that have come out recently to support him. Wins with either a horde of attacking rats or life loss/gain through sacrificing and creating tokens.

Just realised Realmbreaker and Rukarumel work well and you can put every creature in your library on to the battlefield for only 10 mana xd

My favorite this year was Tenth Doctor and Rose. I have been out of the game for a couple years, and this just got me so excited to get back into the game again! I built the deck from scratch and it was just so much fun.

I actually found Joihra’s Timebug helpful if I needed something to stay out one more turn or come out earlier. Suspend is a good protection piece. Vega the Watcher drew me an insane number of cards. Greater Gargadon is another good one as is Lotus Bloom for ramp. Inevitable Betrayal also seems like a fun card to play but I haven’t gotten to cast it yet.

I could see putting Imodane in the 99 of my Veyran deck, use one of the X(R)(R) spells against someone's commander, and double hit each opponent as it triggers.

Yargle and Multani is my favorite Commander, there's a lot you can do with power matters. Sure you can just 21 people, but Jarad and Selvala can put a game ending combo on board, you can draw 18+ with the right cards and even go wide. I wouldn't consider them jank

Played Imodane a couple of weeks ago for the first time. That was probably the fastest round I‘ve ever played. 20 minutes and the game was over. The downside: At some point your oppenents realize how dangerous she is. At the end, I was the first who lost but still, it was hella funny. Love her so, so much!

So glad Rukarumel is number 1, she’s amazing. There are so many ways to build her that I seriously consider building more than just one deck with her. But for now I made a multi-tribal-etb-deck with dragons, elves, vampires, giants and so on. „Everything’s a dragon now and thanks to Miirym, I now get a copy of my just played Wolverine Riders. Now I’m gonna blink Rukarumel and make everything an elf to get some life back.“ I love tribals, I love ETB‘s and I love how unique Rukarumel lets you combine both.

Surprised Chiss-Goria isn't on this list. Probably one of the best red artifacts commanders out there with how fast you can summon him and pump artifacts on the field.

Best part of Commander for me is definitely how Wotc made me wanna not keep up as much with this game. Ps. Still like the game just don’t feel like giving them mo money.

Honestly just play with proxies. If your playgroup or lgs dont like them just play on spelltable. If you dont like webcam magic just find a diffrent group to play the proxy decks with.(This can be harder depending on where you live though)

@@invictusazmun9247 so true. I dont understand the hate against proxies. One guy in our group played with proxies and got some hate from another dude. Now he is playing with a lot of original cards in different languages such as russian, spanish and french because they are much cheaper. Its so much worse :D Proxies are a really good way to enjoy the game without selling your kidney.

I used have a imodane deck until recently I changed it to ojer axonil, and I enjoy more than imodane, because one he's kind of harder remove due to him becoming a land and cam transform back. Plus I feel like imodane tends either really win game fast or absolutely do nothing because you really need her out to do dmg because without her you're just remove creature with burn that doesn't really get you winning the game at least with ojer I m doing small DMG to everyone even without my commander

Shalai and Hallar is nuts. It's insane how much better that card is than the precons face commander. It's probably my favorite deck right now. Just pulled an Soul Cauldron and slipped it in Shalai an Hallar.

The problem I see with Imodane, even if they are play in a different way, is that two months later, the red god, Ojem "the fire Boi", is released, and it is waaaaaay better. ¿Deal 1 damage? Take 4. ¿Mana barbs? Take 4 for every land you tap. Nonetheless, burn commanders had a problem. When they are a threat, they are destroyed every single time. I feel the red Ojem is better than Imodane because she is a menace the moment she enters the battlefield if your opponents had 4/5 creatures each, and by turn 4/5 that is usually the case. Ojem is less menacing by itself. PD: also, Ojem can return easily to the battlefield without going to the command zone

Want to really break the game? Rakarumel built as a tribal, but you get to pick all of the best cards from anything, any color, and still trigger any other effects based on tribal requirements. Humans, Wizards, Elves, Zombies, Dragons, Angels, Goblins, etc. etc. etc... Just basically jam in good stuff + crap tons of ramp and draw triggers, and boom. You can build that deck without a single card worth more than $2 and it's still completely filthy.

I think they want different cards. Immodane wants fireballs amd lava axes, ojer wants pingers that can be used repeatedly

She is more menacing and create hate towards you the moment you play two games with her, because she explodes the game in an instant. Ojem, the way I see it, is less menacing by itself, and is not a big of a threat unless you have two enchantments that burn a lot

I can't take Talion that seriously as groundbreaking. Wizards has been doing CMC matters stuff for 20 years at this point at minimum. Chalice of void and aether vial from the same OG Mirrodin block

Yeah i dont really like the "oh x tribe has a commander, just use moro-" NO, I want a UNIQUE commander with mechsnics that feel FITTING FOR THE TRIBE.
