Eyðin Thomassen the argument is, sure, you are right. But that is completely not the point of this video, did you not watch it. It clearly states that people make mistakes. You are not wrong, you are just a douche
The thing is the guy at the stop sign has to wait for like 5 seconds which he doesn't do. Mistakes like that shouldn't happen. And we don't know how fast the other dude is driving. Maybe he is driving the speed limit, we don't know because they don't provide us with the information. So you can't say the dude is driving to fast. Because we don't know the speed limit there and we don't know how fast he is driving. We can only see the car moving nothing else. He says in the video "Going to fast". Which is subjective for us. We understand it in different ways. But for me it means that he cannot do a full stop at that speed without hitting the car in front of him.
@@Zack-si6or yeah exactly. it can happen in the blink of an eye. someone on their phone or drinking n driving. thats how fast people lose their lives in vehicles.
I will never forget, i was once driving my grandma in the front seat, mom and aunt in the back. I was going a little below the limit because i knew that stretch of road is dangerous. Mom and Aunt in the back were heckling me to go faster but i did not relent. Sure enough, a car from the opposite lane tried overtaking in a blind turn, going crazy fast. Had fractions of a second to feer to the side, missed him by mere inches. Now nobody comments on my driving. If i had gone any faster.. I don't want to think about it. Taught me a valuable lesson. Hopefully others as well.
For sure. I have been lucky like this. In fact I had a very similar situation where a car was overtaking a truck on double lines coming toward me on a blind hill corner. I'm very lucky I reacted super quickly as well.
No nonsense, no politics, just the message: "Stop being self absorbed and obey the rules of the road for EVERYONE'S safety". Simple, easy to understand and POWERFUL.
@@SomeGuyWhoPlaysGames333 1 mph over the limit isn't what I'm talking about. Grow up and learn to understand what people are saying without inferring your own nonsense.
Abigail Carroll We need them worldwide. All the other car crash ads are so sugar coated they don't tell us to stop This one and many other ads were banned because they show us what it's really like.
This is the most disturbing and most terrifying advertisement I had ever seen in my life. That is why it is very important to drive safely plus slowly in order to prevent car accidents which could lead to injuries and death.
This poignant message, so unique and moving in its presentation... leads one to ask, 'Why in the hell isn't it played (or a version of it) across the Western World (especially the US where 50,000 +/- people die each year in collisions)? It is so powerful, why isn't it played everywhere?
DUI survivor here. NEVER EVER drive under the influence/heavily intoxicated. Give the key who you trust to take you back home. Or call the people you trust. Love yourself, children, your family, wife, husband and partners. This is the trust me that you should trust. God bless, Xxx
Australia/NZ have the best and deepest road safety ads out there, the deepest one was the family in the car, driver looks at his speedo and is speeding , then sees someone who got pulled over then tries to look for the directions then crashes
The one that really struck me was the one called "anything" where a guy is asking his mate if he'd do anything for him, and he lists off examples and the other guy imagines himself in them. And of course, his mate says yes, he'd do anything. Then he asks, "then why did you let me speed?" The camera pans out, his mate isn't there, and he's in a cemetery. That one really hit me because I didn't know I was watching a car safety ad.
That was such a dumb ad. It was his wife that was talking to him and confusing him. Also he was distracted by police which is ironic.. Anyway the message was unclear.
My husband and I were on our way back home from the hospital yesterday where I had an outpatient procedure performed. He made a comment about everyone on I-4 driving like idiots. (You have to understand that we've been together for 30 years and I've always been the one to drive when we go out b/c I always considered him to be one of the aggressive driving "idiots" on the road). When I asked him what changed, he said it was me showing him this commercial a few years ago. I never knew what an impact it had on him because I was always the one driving whenever we went out anywhere together! He said that seeing that kid's face in the backseat with the father pleading to not allow the accident to happen literally woke him up about what stupid chances he was always taking. Thank you to whoever made this commercial.
My traffic school showed us an actual AFTERMATH of a deadly car crash where some teenagers had been racing and drove into a concrete wall. I haven’t speeded more than 5 miles over the speed limit ONCE because of that video.
@@PiikachUwU_OSRS Well it was mainly for us to see how bad it can turn out when you don't take your driving seriously. The "concrete wall" those teenagers drove into was placed infront of a threeway intersection. The teens drove way too fast and sped straight through the intersection into the wall. They all died, and they decided to just show us the aftermath of the crash.. Well let's just say it wasn't a nice scene to look at..
@@tomr6955 yeah they had just been conpletely obliterated by the crash. They didn’t look human anymore. It’s scary how you can go from human to non-recognizable in a split second..
This advert has just come up for NSW govt. Such a shocking but truthful story. My stomach turned instantly whilst watching. I’m glad this is message is still being commissioned.
I just remembered this ad and had to look it up when I first saw it I was maybe 14 and it made me very sad, probably the most impactful ad I’ve ever seen, no pun intended
Heartbreaking, but doesn't change the facts. When I learned to drive, my grandpa always teached me "always look twice when you have to give way" and "when you don't think, you'll pay".
Watching thinking about the two people who just died Saturday night one street over driving too fast. My area is really bad for racing, and theres been multiple fatalities. I told my friend about this ad and I will never forget it. Everyone needs to watch this. Too many people have gone too soon.
I was given a minor fault on my test for hesitation when in reality I'd have saved... 4 or 5 seconds? "I thought I had time" goes through my head every time I'm about to pull out. If you don't know for absolute certain that you can make it, the few seconds you add to your journey are better than cutting your life short.
this is what i always tell people. no one is expecting you to be going 20+ over the limit. they’re making their decisions based off of the speed limit and how fast someone is “probably” going
For the Americans in the comment section who are curious, this is a 67 mph crash. Unless I am on the highway I wouldn't dare go this fast on town/city/country roads. Don't want to run into cattle, tractors, cars, trucks, or any other vehicle.
An exact copy of this commercial is now all over Polish TV. It's stressful and annoying. I'm a very careful driver. I don't need to be constantly reminded to slow down, but now I cannot relax in front of the TV because this ad constantly comes on!
VOTE / LIKE this message to bring it back to tv. More people have to see this. I think this ad is the closest to reality you will come. (Feeling the regret when it will be too late). This ad is probably the only one that gets to me every time, the emotions and realism put into this is what all drivers need to see.
One thing I’ve learned is the destination will always be there whether you get there at 5:43 or 5:45. Speeding does nothing but increase your chances of an accident. That realization has made me a much better driver. Speed limit everywhere and I’m not stressed about getting there. I get there when I get there. No big deal
Just show this ad here in Canada as is. The message is very powerful and direct. I'll admit a little too direct for some but some people for whatever reason need a hard direct message. I know I don't want to be either guy in the ad.
The best thing about the ad is that both parties made a mistake. That shows that even if other don't drive perfect, you driving safe and cautious can still prevent accidents. Cuz in most cases it takes a number of misfortune choices that cause accidents. Rarely just one party at fault.
