Thanks for this! I bought the TorqX kit that comes with V32-V38. Used it on my 2017 Camaro SS with great success. Previous owner did not take care of the paint at all. Swirled everywhere. I used V32 and then V38. I picked up C4 and P4 yesterday for my wife's Infiniti.
Bought the same kit and used V32 and V38 on my E46 M3 and also got great results! Love that the TorqX has the smaller adapter too for the smaller areas. I do wish they had an even smaller adapter plate for the super tiny areas too but you can't have everything.
I would love to see a full series on RV's. There are not many videos out there showing best practice and products to get out the oxidation and then polishing and protections steps. This would be much appreciated. Keep up the great videos!
I have the V line that has come with my TorqX that I bought three years ago. At first I was using V34 and V36 because I was very cautious to polish the first cars. Later I realized that V32 is just slightly more aggressive or more cutting than V34. The last car that I polished (Golf 2016) I just jumped into V32 and it saved some time to get the results versus going with V34 and V36. I used V32 for cutting and a light polish with V38 because the paint just needed some corrections from scratches and marks. After that I applied the Chemical Guys Ceramic Coating gel and then applied the Chemical Guys Jet seal. Great results for a used car that stay on the driveway almost all the time.
@@JayMrealestate As you drive your car, dust and small particles will hit your car. Even more if you drive on highways. What you should always do is to have a wax, glaze or ceramic coating that will work to: 1/ serve as sacrificial layer and the dust and all particles will hit them before your clear coat, 2/ periodically wash and re-apply the protection and 3/every year, evaluate the paint and do a light polish or use a long term protection like ceramic coating to work on the maintenance only for years. So, there are multiple paths to take care of your car. You can do small and more frequent maintenance with wax and glaze, or do a more deep prep and ceramic coating a light regular maintenance with washing and some dressing.
Very informative; I would like to see a pad breakdown also. Maybe color code the numbers on the product with the color of your recommended pad. Orange numbers for orange pad etc. If you want slightly more aggressive pad it's X, slightly less would be Y. I need all the help I can get. 😀
Nice Info! Thanks!! I think I know the answer but...If I start with V36 with an Orange Pad and find I need a stronger cut can I use the same Orange pad to go down to V32 or V34? I figure the other way around would be ill advised but it seems it would be okay going for a deeper cut.
Is the C4 compound and P4 polish safe for clear coat? Wondering if it can be used on guitars after repainting for the buffing and polish the clear coat. I use Spray max 2k clear gloss. Use your hex logic pads. They are great. Would like to try your compound and polish if compatible.
@chemicalguys hey Chemical GUys team. I bought the VSS and the orange pad and planning to use it on my 2012 corrolla where it has a lot of swirl and there is not shine at all. do I clean, clay bar then use the VSS. do I clean the car after VSS and do I need to apply P4 polish to bring the shine back? please assist and provide guidance..newbie here.
Hello, I work in a body shop. Another method for polishing a freshly painted part is to sandblast in three stages, ie 1500, 2000 and 3000. I would like to know if you have a two-step product for polishing a showroom part? THANKS
I have a question, so we used the C4 compound but someone insisted we put it on the whole car before wiping it and were having a tough time taking it off now, any suggestions?
Can you use one of these compounds on headlights? I know you sell your head light restore kits, but a little tight on money till I get these next couple of customers in and I ran out!
Just ordered the clay and lube for step1. This project is a military vehicle so no need for a glossy appearance. I take it from the video that VSS would be the lightest initial step then maybe follow up with V36?
Hey! Start with a test spot in an inconspicuous area using an Orange Hex-Logic Pad and V34 Hybrid Compound to determine if more or less abrasives are needed.
So, when is it okay to use P4 alone? This video covered the combo C4+P4. What if the paintwork condition does not need a C4, for example it has just hologram marks and very light scratches? Is P4 okay to use on its own in that scenario?
I have a Mercedes hyacinth red Car. It has swirl marks which are visible in direct sunlight. German cars have harder paint. So, I am very confused with the VSS ONE-STEP SCRATCH & SWIRL and C4/P4. Please suggest.
I carry my chemicals in the trunk. Some of the compounds that aren't regularly used are starting to dry up. Are they still good? Can they be restored to a liquid? Or are they done for?
suppose using v36 w/orange pad and not satisfied, do we move to v34 on orange pad or stick with v36 on a yellow pad? Just trying to understand when going more aggressive, do we go with the pad first or compound first. Thx.
I know this is late but just be careful not to permanently damage your paint by being to aggressive. Very easy to burn your paint or just completely mess it up by not knowing what your doing.
What would I use for a 2016 Buick verano that sideswiped another car and has some deep scratches? I was looking at the kit with the 4 v products and the polisher. Would that work fine? Would I need to buy a clear coat as well to keep the shine? And would I need something to clean the pads if I wanted to use them on my car a 2021 Subaru WRX STi that has been hit from behind that only has minor scratches? I don't want the paint from the one car I used the polisher on to potentially scratch my car further. Thanks for the help!!! I'm a neeb in polishing
Hi there! For deep scratches try using an Orange Hex-Logic Pad and V34 Hybrid Compound. It may be necessary to use touch-up paint before polishing. Check out Polishing Pad Cleaner to remove spent product from your polishing pads.
So which is a lighter cutting polish, C4 or V36? Or are they about the same? If not can you briefly describe the difference between C4 and V36. Thanks!
is that true we do not often use compound? because it can scrape paint thickness. So many people in my conutry recommend to use Compound in six month, but not until six month some swirl mark appears in car body. Can u give some advice for me & my car is soft paint but already coated
Hello! Yes, it is best to always start with the least aggressive approach first due to the fact that every time you polish, you will remove a fine layer of clear coat.
My car has been ceramic coated and I am finding it hard to remove light scratches as the coating is so hard any Ideas how I can remove them and will I have to reapply a coating after?
Hey! Machine polishing is the most effective method of removing swirls and scratches, however it also removes the coating. A compound such as V34 will greatly reduce and remove imperfections.
Hi there! Try starting with a test spot using the least aggressive approach such as an Orange Hex-Logic Pad and V36 Cutting Polish. If more abrasives are needed try C4 or even V34. Refine with a White Hex-Logic Pad with P4 Precision Paint Polish and/or V38 Final Polish.
What would y’all recommend for a brand new midnight black Chevy traverse ? I should be getting it soon and will probably clay if the paint is rough, follow with polish and than hydro slick ceramic. Just not sure if I should stick with vss or do you recommend something else ? Thank you GD

Purchased the new vacuum y’all came out with and returned it but y’all like to cheat the customer. Did not get full refund that I paid for! What you all charge is what I’m supposed to get back!
