I was forced to use my issued .38 more than once during my career and it worked every time. My EDC in retirement is a light weight J Frame based on my real world experiences.

I don't usually carry but I still rely on my vintage J frame Model 60 for home defense. I find the recoil more manageable than the lightweight alloy frame models for my aging hands.

I just recently purchased a new Taurus 942 Ultra Lite Revolver in 22LR. It was defective out of the box, would not ignite any primers. Sent it back to Taurus, after waiting 3 weeks for an update they finally answered their customer service line. They said the frame was so defective they would need to destroy the firearm and issue me a new one, replacing the serial number. Wait 8 weeks for delivery and I have to do an FFL transfer AND pay for it. Just a heads up.STILL WAITING 16 WEEKS later...ZERO

I prefer the gun to be capable/built for a .357 and if I choose to load .38 special, my choice. I have a Colt King Cobra 2" for that reason and a Ruger LCR 1 7/8 also in .357. Then a heavier Rami, but of course that's a 9mm.

I'm looking forward to watch reviews on the Diamondback SDR 6 shot 357 magnum (my preferred cailber choice). If all reviews are good I plan on purchasing 1 or 2 Diamondback SDR, then retire my 2 Ruger LCR only 5 shot 357 magnum.

Great Vid!!....the choices are impeccable these days, the 38c special/357 revolver has seen many improvements and its time tested, the one caliber that has put a blurp on the screen is the 327c, its shown a great compromise for recoil and penetration but little notoriety from ammo manufacturers, for that compromise I guess the 9mm revolver is more attainable ......for those who wish to be combat ready but lack practice, have limp wrist and proper maintenance of a weapon, you can't beat a revolver
