Hi! I’ll be moving to LA for grad school at USC. What are some good neighborhoods to learn about? I hear the area around campus is not that nice. I hear a lot of people say some grad students live in Culver City, Silverlake, Echo Park, and Koreatown. I’m wanting a 1 bedroom apartment in somewhere that is relatively quiet but has a walkable and lively downtown area that is close/easy access to USC and above all is SAFE. Any recommendations?

Congrats on grad school! USC is a great school, but you are correct, many students live away from campus and the surrounding areas. All of the areas you mentioned are great options for what you are looking for. Inglewood and West Adams may be some good options too.
