I have yellow nutsedge and Sedgehammer has worked over the past 5+ years. Some pops up every year but I'm on the lookout and spray ASAP. Just had 11" rain in 11 days and had an extraordinary outbreak of yellow nutsedge. I'm out there spraying and getting control again. Sighs...
Southern California checking in...... Not sure if it's St. Augustine or centipede grass in my bermuda lawn. Tips on getting rid of either one? My soil ph is a little high at around 7.2. Trying to get the soil more acidic.
What do you think of Mesotrione(Tenacity), Triclopyr, 2,4-D, Dicamba, & Sulfentrazone(T-Zone SE), and Ethofumesate(Prograss)? Also, what do you recommend to control English Ivy and Virginia Creeper? Thanks!!
I’ve been having issues for years with Field Bindweed in my yard. What’s the best practice/herbicide for this weed? I’ve been told to use Celsius but I’m not seeing that weed labeled for control with that herbicide. I don’t want to use glyphosate to be honest.
Yes, sedges are a pain in the a$$ for everybody but, I'd have to say, for us cool season folks, dallisgrass and it's evil twin bahiagrass seem to give sedges a run for its money. I'm well aware that some people actually plant bahiagrass and cultivate it for their lawn. The best I can tell is the only product that you showcased that could be used in cool season lawns is Surge.

I seeded my yard with Monaco Bermuda a little over a month ago. Its filling in nice but I'm getting a lot of nutsedge. Is it still too early to treat with sledgehammer?
Ironically, the most difficult weed I deal with in turf up north is Bermuda grass. She's a beast. Its even one of my most difficult weeds in non crop areas. Glyphosate doesn't consistently work anymore. Alfalfa is another plant (legume) that is very difficult. Where I'm from used to be mostly farm land, now its mostly developed into residential. Alfalfa pops up everywhere. Fluroxopyr brings her to her knees tho no problem. Cool video!
@@gregoryclark2674 Acclaim may be a good option. Prodiamine however will do nothing. Group 3 herbicides are generally targeting annuals. Bermuda is a perennial grass type and does not exclusively spread by seed.
East Tenn here.... and Im having Great luck with clearing everything in turf grass.... except ..... Creeping Charlie... I have used Blindside.. and it seems to help.... any better Ideas..????
I have had great success spraying twice, four weeks apart ,a month before the end of the growing season. The roots are weakened for the winter instead of regenerating over the winter. I only use sulfosulfuron with a surfactant..
The worst weed is that one whose name escapes me. I want to call it Virginia creeper, but that’s not it. Gosh. This is killing me. Help me out. It’s low growing, spreads like crazy, is super invasive, and makes little white flowers. Not clover.
The other plants are native Americans and the grass is actually the weeds. Given a chance with NO investment in time , equipment or chemicals the native plants will eliminate the weeds and you'll never need to worry about looking like a high falutin' 18th century English Earl again. 😃
