Anything with chartreuse tail. Black, purple, are numbers colors for me, but orange body/chartreuse tail seems to get selected by larger crappies most days
Chartreuse and black is my go to color , tubes, twisted tail, spinner bait, plastic worm it just doesn't matter . Clear water or stained this color works for me. Try it you can find them the black and chartreuse Wordens Rooster Tail, killer on bass and pike. Like I said this is MY preferred color. Everyone has their favorites , Good Fishing Everybody, and if given a chance take a kid fishing .
Agreed! Black and Chartreuse is my absolute number 1 color day in and day out. Never used it in clear water though. I usually use monkey milk when it's clear
Thanks Bud! I moved to Oregon 21 yrs ago and just started missing catching my old favorites; bass, bluegill, cat fish, crappie, etc etc etc. You've brought me back up to speed. I've got a nice small lake close to the house that's given up a few small bass. Lucked into a crappie while busting up some d*mn big bluegill and wanted to get after em. Ya video reminded me it's all same same. See ya on the water!
What up Tony here in Akron Ohio I've do a lot of fishing at summit lake this lake has no map for it but there is a concrete dock that run shallow water to deep water my favorite lure to catch crappie is a 2 inch Mr twister in yellow with a yellow jig head and the other is a Keith tech 2 inch
I fish in the waters of Western Florida. Most of our lakes are 10' in depth with very little structure. How about doing a segment on lakes like that? I lived in Wisconsin most of my life in Marquette county. Loved fishing Buffalo lake and the Mecan river system. We had a place on Little St. Germain up in northern Wi. but I find fishing in Fl. is so much different. I'm going to try this method down here and will let you know what the results are. We usually fish with live bait of on sort or the other. But I will try the Cubby Mini Mites and see if that is effective. Thanks. Love you videos it keeps me in touch with the old homestead.
Dan the ice is gone!!!!!! Man I have never seen ice hang on as long as it did up there this year. Gotta feel nice to be out in the boat just for the change if nothing else. Another good video.
yea finally! its been warm to, walleye spawn went fast... fishing has been good though! catching a lot of eyes! going to start targeting crappie soon! how is fishing for you?
It's good when I can go brother. Between work and projects at the house my trips have been limited. Hopefully I will get out more soon. Keep posting the good stuff.
Pink/black, pink speckled, bright orange/chartreuse, light blue/glitter are the ones I catch the most on in Indiana, the pink/black seem to catch the larger fish more times than not
Yeah that Keith tech is a swim bait and man it a killer it comes in different colors but my favorites are shiner and minnow find the depth they are at swim it with no bobber or jig it and man will they hit it and hit it hard as hell when I swim it and get hit the crappies inhale it all you see is the tip of the jighead
my only crappie so far was on a 4" bass pro walleye paddle tail in electric chicken "pink and chartruese" every time i threw a crappie jig yesterday a catfish smashed it.
bobber was set at 2' in 3-5 feet of water. thats the Wisconsin river for you. crappie magnets, gulp 1" and 2.5" minnows. the paddle tails i swim, jig, or rip near the bottom. love this bait www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-walleye-angler-paddle-tail-grub
