Like someone else said, it's really not that weird. Never watched this much of this show, but from what I understand they're step siblings who weren't even raised together. My step dad's oldest son married a woman who was his step sister at one point. They met as adults so it's not like they were raised together.
I still think it's stupid that they left Derek & Casey home alone together. Like, they were two hormonal teenagers of opposite genders. Nora and George were so dumb sometimes.
Monika K Villalobos Lillo They were married into being a brother and sister. No, they didn’t live most of their lives together, but it’s still considered inappropriate yo think of (step) siblings to have affection towards one another. A mother would leave their 16 year old daughter with their 17 year old son who are hormonal teenagers and wouldn’t need to worry about them screwing. It shouldn’t matter whether they are step or not, because it is frankly still not socially acceptable. If incest was acceptable, I’m sure more siblings would fall in love. Incest is not. Neither is step-siblings. “Not related by blood” is a terrible argument. So no their parents weren’t dumb, their parents don’t go round thinking their kids are screwing.
I don't think it was inappropriate and besides they only saw that they didn't get along in the beginning. I do think it's something that should have considered or at least discussed though and the fact they are always barging in each other's room and as many times as that happens there could have been a chance of one of them walking in on each other while indecent was very possible. They aren't related by blood they didn't grow up together and there's definitely been hints towards an attraction and not just a familial one.
@@harmonyedits768 this may be just me, but if I was already 15-16 and didn't grow up with this guy, it would take me quite a long while to feel comfortable with him around, let alone see him as a brother.
Derek switching from "just let me chill, Case" to "who do I need to kill?" at the sight of Casey crying is adorable. "Since when are you so protective of Casey?" "SINCE NOW." He even called ahead for mom to talk to her since he knew she needed a shoulder to cry on! Very considerate.
@@johnomalley7211 What I mean is even if people don't ship them romantically, that scene at least shows Derek cares, and it is sweet in the sibling sense.
@@johnomalley7211 I'm saying you could look at that scene in a sibling love way, but some can see it in the romantic sense, which is what I assume was the intention of the video.
@@alessiagalata9684 And Betty and Jughead technically share a brother. They are not related in any way, but Betty's mom and Jughead's dad had a kid when they were like in highschool.
Jillian Elise A clip from the finale started trending in January. It was the scene where they were in the kitchen and Derek said “step-brother” in response to Casey and they shared a look. People were like “oop this show was actually STRONG with the subtext”
Oh MY GOD. I don't care if they are steps, they are PERFECT for each other. How the hell was this ridiculous amount of UST and chemistry NOT intentional??? Stupid writers...
Their house looks very dim all the time lol that’s the main thing I remember from this show plus they youngest sister was so annoying getting everyone into trouble. Lol
Looking at this at 21. I can’t tell whether I’m cringing now cause I realized the tension was way too much vs back when I was like 9 and this was a ship
Everyone says that they hinted at incest and all, but I don't see it. I just see a cute bro and sis moment. I did ship them though, but thats becaause they were so nice to eachother behind each others backs.
I've never seen this show in my life. This was randomly in my related videos after watching some commentaries of old Disney Channel movies, and now that I've watched this... THESE ARE SIBLINGS?!?! I see now why your generation is all about step-sibling porn.
You're right. They're all from Degrassi. The little sister from here is Adam. Derrick played in the Jason Mewsical movie from Degrassi goes Hollywood I think. The mom is Fionna and Declans mom. The dad is the Hollingsworth dad. Vicky plays Jane. I forgot the name of Derrick's best friend I think Sam but he played in Degrassi too. Sav was just in a scene. The actors over lap because both shows were filmed in Canada lol
