Hello, I adopted a 12 years old Yorkie and he is a picky eater - when I feed him boiled chicken and rice he will not eat - many foods give him diarrhea and he is not eating the food his last owners gave me ( royal canin dog food) :( - we tried a new veterinary prescribed wet from Hill's and he popped all over the flat. I feel so bad for him. Pleas any tips?
We have fed our Yorkies Royal Canin for the past 24 years, but recently switched to The Farmers Dog fresh food. We are on our 4th Yorkie and none of them have been picky eaters! We are getting a 12 week old male Yorkie at the end of April!
I have been a yorkie owner for about 20 years and I am always finding new sites. I just want you to know I am really enjoying your channel because you are at home, soft spoken, knowledgeable, and good with your babies. I really enjoy your story time! When do you have your live visits?
I free my girl ( she is 5 month ) raw diet . I live in Georgia 🇬🇪 and I go to village in mountain to buy organic fresh animal : bird / rabbit meat ( they cut it for me small potions so I don’t have to cry 😢) She is in perfect health My previous dog French bulldog ( she died natural death at age 17 and 4 month ) also was same raw diet but I had her when I lived in California which sucked as far as finding real organic food for her Anyways , dogs should be on raw diet , I know it’s expensive however in long run it’s not considering vet bills . US foods (ALL is a scam and harmful) including all so called organic is not really organic
Hi Megan, love your videos. I have a 4 month old yorkie and he eats 1/3 cup of food a day per my vet. He still seems hungry, do you give your babies any kind of treats? Thanks for the videos ❤️
@༺Joe's-girl༻ hi my Gracie is very thin so I know she doesn’t overeat. She is 9 mos old now and eats half cup each day of dry food plus a carton of little Caesar wet food divided into two servings. She weighs 6 lbs. I just leave dry food out and she eats when she wants too.
I'm so glad that the information was helpful:). I was getting asked what I feed my yorkies all the time so I thought it would be good to talk about it a little more:)
I love my baby I am currently having him on puppy child. That's what the breeder had him on. If anybody have a yorkie Poo, can you please tell me what is the best option for him to eat? As I've heard puppy Chow is not the best option. Please let me know he's 8 weeks. He's very active, he loves attention.I just want him to have the best diet
Evermore is the only cooked dog food my Biewer eats. He is super picky though so I rotate proteins and sometimes top his food with soft boiled egg or unsalted tuna in water (vet reco) in order to entice him. He did not care for JFFD.
Hello. Love all your info. Just got our baby girl and she is 13 weeks old and And beautiful dark black and tan and I paid a lot of money for her and just wondered what is the best food I can feed her as a puppy can I feed her just for dogs food or is that only for adult yorkies thank you so much and look forward to hearing back from you
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I had no idea about pet food!!! And here I thought I was feeding him the best dog food. “Feed grade”😝⁉️ #Zeus is also thanking you.
I know, right?! I honestly didn't know until Lola became ill with pancreatitis and I started researching foods. I was so surprised that the food I had been feeding to my dogs was expensive, and they made it seem like high quality, and it actually wasn't at all. My dogs get SO excited at the Just Food For Dogs. It is so different that the dry food they used to eat. I pieced a lot of this stuff together over the last few years and it makes such a difference in the dogs health. Give Zeus a hug for me please:) ❤️. Megan
I got my yorkie at 8 weeks. Her breeder was feeding her adult toy breed blue Buffalo mixed with a bit of paté same brand she likes it but I wish to change to home cooked dog food mixed with dry food. She is now 21 weeks old and ready for a change in diet if I find a good recipe. Now cost isn't an issue as my husband spoils our pets beyond me. About this snacks my husband feeds them do you recommend a type or brand for snacks? Our pets absolutely love snack time they love their human dad and this special time together. I love your videos by the way, amazing content.
We're getting 2 5 yr old girls being retired in July. Your videos I've seen are extremely helpful in making informed devisions for our girls. Thank you very much.
so when i get my yorkie puppy what is the best food for her ? should i get her the just food for dogs or ? i want her to be on the best food but on your last video you said not to do that as puppy’s need food 24/7
I just switched my yorkie food from little ceasers to Royal canine but now Idk. What do u feed them if you have to leave or on the road being that the food is frozen?
@@MeganGraham I have a question so I have teacup yorkie she weighs about 5lbs. I'm thinking about switching to just for foods. It says give her about 4oz of the food day. So my question is would it matter if I spread the food out through the day or give it to her all at once?
Thank you for this info. I have a Yorkiepoo that was a rescue. He is about 5 now, I believe . his is having problems with his food. The vet said he has a sensitive stomach. I really am at a loss right now for what to do for him. My husband and I are retired and are on a fixed income. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you so much! ❤
Have you ever researched PawTree? A company in TX that grows their food, it is human grade and no fillers ALL ingredients made in the USA. Our breeder (who is also a vet) only feeds this particular food. It is in kibble form.
Do you recommend any vitamins for yorkies? And my 7 month old yorkie eats blue Buffalo but I’m thinking of switching to acana bc i heard it’s more nutritional. Any help or advice 😭❤️
Wow, I love your videos. I am currently fostering my sisters dog and want to make sure he is being well taken care of. I love Chiquilin.... your tips are awesome and I love how you are with your fur babies. Their beautify by the way.
Hi. I’m a new yorkie mom and I would like get her treats. I’m just not sure which ones to get her. Can you recommend some good treats? Thank you in advance!
I'm in the uk so dog treats will be different here but some natural treats that can be used is carrots, watermelon, and blueberries, other fruits too but all very healthy snacks for dogs
It’s really up to you, I can honestly say that I prefer the food that’s made by just food for dogs to cooking food at home because it’s much more balance. Are used to cook their food and they weren’t getting all of their nutrients, and just food for dogs is nice and balanced.
I just brought my Yorkshire for my little brother and we wasn’t ready we wanted to returned it back but they said no im really feel like a horrible person I want to sell it but to somebody that would love her and don’t know where to sell it
@@MeganGraham I follow holistic vets on a regular basis and have been educated on these premade foods and the unnecessary high starchy carbs. They may be balanced in nutrients, but a homemade diet can be just as balanced without the high carb content. Thought this info would be helpful if your dog starts to gain weight or develop diabetes as you would know where to start to help correct the issue.
Hi - do you think we could transition a 10 week old Yorkie from kibble to this real food? If so, once on only Just Food for Dogs, how much would a ~12 week old puppy eat per day? Thanks!
@@MeganGraham Hi Megan!! We are in California near Monterey!!! We have Jake who is 4 1/2 months old, & also going to get him his playmate first part of February!!! I hope it works out well! Jake is a handful!! We’ve ever had a Yorkie so willful!!!!
I have a male Yorkie he is 3 very sensitive stomach the vet told me to give him white rice and boneless chicken. I'm looking into changing his food vet also said low fat any suggestions? He is a picky eater.
Looks like a great food choice, but it is expensive! Picking up our Yorkie next week. I think I can control ingredients (organic), can cook and freeze in portions for less $$, and be just if not more delicious and nutritious. I will add supplements as per the vet's advice.
If you think the food is expensive, it's the least of the expenses that add up with a yorkie. They are very pricey to care for for sure. Vets are not nutritionists, so you may want to consult with a nutrition specialist.
@@MeganGraham Will do! I would never take on a pet that I couldn't afford and not concerned with normal and fun costs. I only want what's best for this little guy. I think I can produce a great nutrition packed food without too much difficulty. It's not a matter of cost only, I feel a connection via food as I do with my kids! Nothing makes me happier than to see my kids enjoying and relishing their meals. So rewarding and satisfying. I hope to achieve the same with our Yorkie. I occasionally cooked for our Golden Retriever, boy could she eat!!
hi ❤️ …. i see that you feed your yorkies just food for dogs & i want to try that out . the food i have now is purina pro plan & she threw it up . i have a question for you … do you feed them dry food as well ?if you do what brand ? or only wet foods ? thank you ❤️❤️
@@isp042684 My vet told me the same thing except he gets 1 tablespoon of wet food 3 times a day and his dry food stays out all day except nighttime. My little guy is only 8 1/2 weeks so maybe this is why the dry food.
Hi, Megan, I have a question, I bought a puppy Yorkie, and the previous owner, was giving her pedegre food, I don't know if I spelled it right, lol. And I want to change it for other cain of food, can I do it?
@@MeganGraham Ok! Thank you! Are there any tips for yorkies that are 4 months? My yorkie is a female and has a sister with her. Also, she's a picky yorkie, I used to hand feed her until a couple days ago when I would sprinkle some chicken in her bowl so she'd eat out of it. Any tips on getting them to like their food? Or is there any dry food that you would recommend?
I have been feeding my 4-year-old Yorky Kelly Royal Canin, for a Yorkshire terrier. I have been seeing more videos lately because kelly will be having babies this year. Just being very careful with her and for the future babies! Thanks for the videos, lots of good information, and the help.
