Great info here. I plan to get the doorbell camera, do I need to get the optional sync device in order to have recorded video clips in the Blink cloud? I'm willing to pay the yearly subscription, I just need to know if I must buy something besides the doorbell cam?
So dang my street i live on is busy with cars passing constantly would that drain my battery in a month or is the motion sensor setting really a saver on that?
Do I need internet to watch live videos and record videos? What do you need for a video to be recorded? Do I need an additional device to record videos? thanks
Yes you need the blink sync device and internet...it's actualy being sold with the Blink Doorbell on Amazon 👇 Blink Video Doorbell + Sync Module 2 a.co/d/6OTnmGI
I am granny gadget challenged. No internet, no router. Tryed to set up Blink with Samsung S21, kept getting prompts to connect to nearby wifi. There were many in my neighborhood which I can't connect to without their passwords. Got as far as; Turned on wifi on my phone, then got stuck there. Guess I'll try to get son or granddaughter to help grandma out.
These devices can only work with Wi-Fi in your home. You can easily get wifi at home through your phone carrier (for a monthly fee). That would be the best if you want to have smart devices at home.
If you get a cheap router you can probably set it up. It wouldn’t have internet because that you would need a modem and a subscription to an internet provider. But a wifi router is basically a switch/hub that you can connect all your devices to and they can communicate.
Yes, you need a module. I forgot to mention that in my video because I've had one for a few years now. But they are around $34 or if you buy the bundle, you can get both for $54 right now on Amazon.
@MoDavI-sl7iy so ring doorbell or ring cameras will cost you money every month for almost everything they offer. Blink gives you almost everything for free. But does have a money fee for some additional benefits. Sadly soon all cameras you buy for your home will require a monthly fee just to operate. Long way of saying no I haven't owned a ring product, but I have used one at my parents' house.
@sashakelley4823 Yes, blink cams don't record 24/7 they just record clips. But if someone comes up to your camera, they will be recorded and you can download the clip to your phone or tablet.
I first used blink security cameras in 2021, I don't remember why but I deleted the whole setup off my phone, I emailed blink but it took so long to get a reply and as ime not techy at all i didn't understand the reply, they just said to use my user name and change password which I tried to do but didn't work as when trying to match my cameras with sync model it said the cameras were registed to another sync model so obviously couldnt use the system. So what I need to know is how can I use my indoor cameras with with my old sync model i cant use, or is there a way to make the old sync or cameras usable again...
Okay the first question is do you have Xfinity? Second question have you split your wifi? That's how you get Blink devices to work. If yiu do have Xfinity I can help get your devices working again.
@@AtHomewithLucas When I try to view the camera, Blink doesn't show it to me, Alexa says it's incompatible, I don't subscribe to any Blink plan and I don't have any Sync module.
Hi? I have already blink video doorbell with sync module 2. With it can see the live view. I just have another one and trying to add this to existing system. But couldn't get live view on it. While i add the second doorbell it's ask will i add with sync module? I scanned the QR code of sync module 2, it's shows sync module is already registered! So i add second doorbell without sync module. With first doorbell i can see the live view but not with second one! I am a not tech person! Please help me out if you can!
@xubaerimran790 well it's weird because you should be able to add the doorbell just like a camera. I have two cameras and one doorbell with no problems. So you should be able to add the doorbell no problem.
I think it's a great device, but the instructions suck. I could not figure out how to get the 2-way audio to work until I watched this video. I mainly want this for deliveries that require my signature.
When I tested it by ringing the bell, it looks like I click the notification at the top of my Blink app to turn on the Audio. One annoying feature, When making a setting change, I have to ring the bell or wait 24hr for it to go into effect.
Multiple ways. 1. Open the Blink app then click the video camera icon and it will live view. 2. Open the Alexa app and click cameras then blink doorbell. 3. Just ask Alexa to show blink doorbell.
