Best Double Edge Razor Blades Made In USA 

I like & have purchased both the Accuforge & Persona comfort coat blades. I like supporting American companies whenever possible, both blades perform well IMO.

I think I will stick with comfort coated and my other cheaper blades. I'm not paying 67$ for 100 blades. Getting so tired of paying ridiculous prices for stuff in general these days. You can still get great products for very affordable prices in wet shaving, so I will stick with those.

One thing that a lot of people forget is hydration. The water and soap hydrates the whiskers, which makes them stand up, making it easier to shave off.

I switched to the Personna comfort coats a while ago and really like them on my Rockwell 6C at level 3. I especially like the no-plastic and no glue packaging. So far, I find they hold up for four 2-pass shaves pretty well.

Have to agree about the Persona. They are definitely my go to blades for both head and face shaves. Worth every penny.

Comfort Coats are my second favorite blade. Glad to see you used one of my few good ideas pitting these two up against each other. I've got enough blades for years actually so this video was good in the fact that I don't need to try anything else.

I switched to the Comfort Coats a month ago and really like them. Thank you for the recommendation.

I picked up the comfort coat as a suggestion from the channel and switched to them for most shaves. They work great with the Henson, and the new Alysworth Apex aluminum razor.

The give-away gets better. Great shave, for me i like the comfort coat in more aggressive razors. The acuforge seem in my wheelhouse of more medium to mild razors and very sharp blades

I love my Comfort Coat Blades. Nice everyday blade. In my Timeless Slant Aluminum I find they work very well and I've tried about 10 different blades in that razor including Feather. Id rather use the comfort coat in most of my razors. Great recommendation on both the razor and the blades.

I also use the Personna with the Rockwell 6C on a #2. Great combo. Thanks for the content!

David, great video! Loved the outtake at end😂 I just did that a few days ago. I picked up Sterling Soap's British Leather shave soap, opened it and dropped entire bowl into sink of hot water. 😂 Lathering was no problem after that!

Great shave David. You got me hooked on Personna comfort coat blades. So far my favorite blade. Also I’m an Alum block & witch hazel user. It all makes a difference!

When I look at DE razor blade cost per use I use the Astra SP as a baseline. These give me a solid and smooth shave for up to 3 three pass shaves or 4 two pass shaves. They cost about 8.4 cents apiece. So the per cost shave for me is under 3 cents per shave. Wizamet blades are the most expensive blade that I like to use at about 22 cents per blade. These are my favorite blade and they are extremely long lived. In between are the Nacet blades which are, for me, both sharper and smoother than the Astra SP's, and longer lived. Nacets seem to be running around 18 cents per blade since they moved production from St Petersburg to India. Hopefully that price will float down a bit over time. Historically Nacets have hovered around 2x the cost of Astra SP's. I personally have a preference for platinum coated blades, and iridium even moreso. I have not yet tried a simple teflon coated blade that I liked enough to buy more than a single tuck of. Everyone is different. As much as I like the idea of domestically manufactured DE razor blades, these are really a niche product in the USA. It will probably always be less costly to buy DE blades made in some part of the world where safety razor use is common. It's about economies of scale and competition in the distribution channels. Yes, I am pinching the pennies that hard now, and have been since about March of 2020.

Thanks David for the review of the razor and blades. I get some zings after using the comfort coats with an alum block but not full on stinging but it definitely is a much closer shave than the Astra's I use. The comfort coats are becoming my new favourite blades. Haven't tried the accuforge only reason is can't find them in Australia.

Nice shave Dave, I agree with your assessment of the Personna blue. I am down to my last 10 blades, it is a pity that we do not get them them here easily.

Nice shave Bro! I love my Personna comfort coat blades that is the blade I use on all my new razors. I may have to try the AccuForge blades because I really like Kai blades.

Another great shave, David! I just picked up a Bronze .38 Timeless and have been experimenting with it the last few days...and it is scary efficient. It does not have much blade feel at all, but it cuts very well and gives a very nice shave. I still prefer my Karve Overlander for my experience, but the race is quite close. My top razors would be the Overlander, followed by the Timeless, followed by the Henson Medium, followed by the Razorock Mamba .70 which is a tad bit further out from the top three. I've also still been blade testing (like always) to get great shaves. The AccuForge / Lab Blue is a bit better versus the CC, but that largely comes down to the razor I'm using. Currently going through Gillettes and some RKs and the BIC Astor to see what are some good alternates. Happy Easter to you!

Great comparison! The audio feedback on the accuforge definitely sounded like it was a smoother 2nd pass. At times, I switch to a sharper blade after the first pass for that very reason.

I personally found the accuforge blades to be smoother for me. The comfort coat seems to be not sharp enough for me. I’ve always avoided feather until recently and I’m starting to really like them.

nice testing and showing this 2 blade, i should try this out too, ii don't know it this good for beginner ?? i just have first 2 shave of my life, switching from the electric razor .... it feel not bad , but lol the first shave is bloody :P and the second one is better after add some pre shave oil ... and not really clean .... i think i still need more practise lol

If I attempt a 3rd pass with the safety razor and shavette I get the bbs but it irritates my skin a lot, a second pass is more friendly.

Great video. The comfort coat are my favorite and go to blades. Beautiful Razor. Do you think the polished razor felt smoother because it is polished? How does a Titanium razor compare to a stainless steel razor. I hesitate to spend that amount of money on a razor because if it has too much blade feel for my skin, it will end up just sitting in my razor drawer. I guess I could always return it. $67 for 100 is the old Med Preps (they are for hospitals). Not supposed to be cheap, they have xtra high quality control on those.

David, nice video. Curious who told you the Timeless was the most comfortable razor on the market? Timeless? The comfort Coat blade is very good, the problem I had was trying to find some that weren't fakes. I finally went with the Accuforge and they have been fantastic.

The Accu Forge left me with bad irritation and burning. I haven't tried the comfort coats yet but I got them in my Amazon cart.

Did you ever think about doing an outdoor shave?

I have one question… has anyone herd that face lathering too much before you shave can lead to irritation after the shave?? I thought it would be the opposite but I read about the face lather thing and it got me thinking 🤔

I wanted to like the Personna comfort coats but they are too harsh for me. I now have 299 blades that will likely go unused. At least the good news for me is I can get 200 or nearly 200 blades for the costs of 1 box of comfort coats (Dorco St301 or Primes and Treet Platniums). The Accuforge are totally priced out of my price range. A good reminder that a blade for thee may not be for me. The fun or aggravation (depending on a persons preference) is finding the combination that does work for one. Probably why the rabbit hole effect is real.

These are the same blade. Accuforge is the new name; rebranding to drop Personna name owned by Edgewell. I have this from several sources.

Awesome shave David! I've been loving my Timeless Slant razor, though it did take a few shaves to get used to the light weight. I hope they make it in SS or Ti someday. I really want to get my hands on one of those top of the line Timeless razors now. SS or Ti, and they look so smooth! Great work leading us through the shave as usual man, and keep on keeping on!

After tryin many different razor materials i can say to me titanium and brass have the best feel. Definatly theres something special about titanium. Somehow i dont like the feel of steel razor heads.

With the amount of competition in the shaving 🪒 industry you really can’t go wrong with almost any razor or blade. Whether its Henson, Mühle, Gillette, or Feather they’re all great for the Average Joe. Only shaving aficionados can differentiate a Personna from a Voshkod lol
