Have a HiFi Audio system or home theater system? The Anti-Mode 8033S-II is a MUST HAVE upgrade for your subwoofers - home audio subwoofer or home theater subwoofer and hifi speakers. Please join my FB page here: / greekaudiogeek
For those with two subs like myself, here is what the manual says... 2.6. Multiple Subwoofers Having multiple subwoofers reproducing the same signal (dual mono) will result in a smoother response in general. Anti-Mode 8033 can be used with any number of subs and allows you to use corner placement for the subs. Connect the Anti-Mode unit to the signal going into each sub, and calibrate them together. When calibrated together, the nulls created by one sub are filled in by the other sub. Anti-ModeTM calibration takes this into account, creating a smoother overall response than if the subs were calibrated separately using multiple Anti-Mode units. If you want to reproduce low frequencies in stereo, you need either two Anti-Mode 8033's or one Anti-Mode 2.0 Dual Core. Stereo at low frequencies is generally not needed, because low frequencies are omnidirectional and predominantly mixed in mono. Any directional cues are determined from harmonics and other aural information. It is usually better to use the dual mono arrangement instead of stereo to get a more even response. Looks like all I/we need is one unit to match and blend a dual sub configuration.
I just upgraded from Cornwall's to La Scala's (see the video on my channel). Cornwall's are GREAT speakers. You'll really like how this will improve the sound from your sub. Just make sure to read the directions to do it correctly and get the most out of it.
Interesting DSP with analyser. REL recommends you put your 5, 7 or 9T/i in the corner as well, in fact at 45 degrees. My 9T/i works best at 30% from a corner. Still brewing about a DSP.... Thx for the heads up.
Yes bass management is crucial to getting clean powerful base, both in home audio and pro audio. For pro audio using a minimum of a 31 band eq and and three Parametric equalizers, also being able to control phase time Domaines not just 0 and 180o. The difference between a properly processed base and one with no processing is massive, proper placement of subs and speakers is critical and should be done first.
Excellent review. I have deliberately held off buying a subwoofer until a "proper" integration component was available. This one might tip me over the edge.
Thanks Connor for watching and the kind words. Please feel free to share this review linik on any forums/FB pages you frequent so I can continue to grow the channel!
I use one too, works great on my vintage Genesis Servo 12 subwoofer in my secondary system. In my main room system I use a DSPeaker X4 as a preamp, DAC, room correction device. They make great products.
Thx. Never seen you video channel before. Like you "matter of fact" style. Have always wanted to hear La Scalas. Like the fact that the digital is confined to the sub where the digital is the least audible.
I'm 50 years old and built my first set of speakers for my 12th birthday. I've been obsessed with sound since I was a kid and I've learned it's pretty simple. Your main speakers should NOT share any of the same sub or bass frequencies your subwoofer puts out. If they do you're going to get boomy hot spots and it's going to be difficult to control. It really is down to the word you kept using which is integration. It should be seamless.
@MichaelsHIFI Very helpful video. Thanks for sharing this info. Subbed and liked. I have a pair of REL T5x with my Falcon LS 3/5as. The REL high level setup is really annoying and I could never be sure the subs are integrated using there method. I ordered this unit and looking forward to switching to the low level via my preamp outs on my integrated amp. One question, the REL's crossover can't be turned off...what level should I put it at during the calibration?
Thanks for subscribing! You'll want to set you crossover at the highest crossover frequency (note - NOT overall volume level) possible. My guess is it will be like 250hz or something like that. Then after running the setup sweep you can lower the cut off to the setting that sounds best.

Hey David - in my room I have them @ 12db slope @47 hz. To my ear 48hx sounds a bit boomy. But, I have a VERY large room so it may be different for you.
So l have an old school two channel tube rig But my source is the Oppo BD105 and it has the RCA sub out connection So l use a RCA Y connector to connect to my two SVS Ultra 13's with the upgraded plate amps & SVS sub app Do you think it would an issue if l installed it in my setup? I haven't run REW yet but plan to soon
Simply run your RCA's to this unit and then RCA from this unit to your subs. If you have any concerns you can always email the mfg. for confirmation you are good to go. But I don't see why your Oppo would care whether the RCA's go to a sub or to this unit and then the subs.

Rega Elex-R integrated amplifier. I have a Y splitter going dual SVS SB 1000 subs. Do I need two units. One for each sub? Also, I have been often only using one sub turning the right off and my bass is a lot overwhelming. Of course when I am alone and crank everything up I go back to the dual turning the right sub on.
No - one unit should do it for you. You can download the manual from their site and check. I think the issue you are having is a couple of things: 1) your sub volumes may be too high, 2) your crossover may be too high, 3) you are definitely having peaks and valley of bass frequencies adding to the boominess. For me - in my system - this unit helped eliminate most of any boominess.
@@GreekAudioGeek I had Nancy from SVS set the settings in the app with me. Volume is at -10 Crossover is at 80 It is in a rather small room. She was worried that going dual might not be better than just the one.
Where did you purchase your unit? I followed your link, and it said it can only accept Euros? I am sure it will make the currency exchange properly, just curious.
Hi Michael - that is the link I bought mine from. That is direct from the manufacturer. They shipped super fast and were very responsive to my emails. I would totally buy from them again with confidence.
You should’ve put the name of the product some where for easy reference Anyway, where did you buy it from? Either I’m entering the name wrong but can’t find it any where on Amazon
Hi - the name is in the details section: Anti-Mode 8033S-II. They sell direct and not through Amazon. I bought mine direct with great customer service.

You've got to wonder......I spend my own money to buy this item, my time to test and review, more time to put together and edit a video, all to help people make a decision if it's right for them or not. I make no money of doing any of this. Yet somehow of the hundreds of people who have "liked" the video, there are three people who are unhappy enough with their life to hit the thumbs down. Makes you wonder how sad their lives must be..... Thankfully our analytics software tells us who those people are so it's not anonymous.
You shouldn't worry about those folks. Just assume they were smart people who thought it was a download button! :) Happy New Year. Thanks for sharing. I will have to try this out.
That requires you to plug into a computer to set up and get going. It is more complicated. the Anti-Mode is simple plug and play and is very sophisticated, yet totally easy to use. You literally plug in the mic it comes with and press two buttons and it does the rest.
so they don't even talk about this product anymore over at avs or asr forums. they all say minidsp is the way to go. they must not like it for some reason. i remember hearing about the 8033 years ago. so this v2 is newer??
Hi Jed. Thanks for watching. My suggestion is you use your own ears to make decisions for yourself and not people on a forum. You will be much happier in life.
MiniDSP is simply more comprehensive. If that's what you want, it's great because you can also see what's happening with REW. If you don't want to fuss with that, then this does much the same thing.
Yeah but you can't get those anymore? Wait, you can? I have a pair of Speedwoofer MK II, right next to me near field, behind me to left and right, 3 feet off the ground. It's already very very smooth.
Here is the link to the mfg that I bought direct from. Very fast shipping and they were very responsive and helpful: www.dspeaker.com/anti-mode-8033. Trust me, this DSP will make it better than you thought it could get.
When I changed my audioquest black lab subwoofer leads for the more expensive chord shawline subwoofer lead it was like rediscovering my stereo Rel subwoofers for the first time! Neither to say all of my RCAs are now chord shawline and I've got nine fucking channels 😱 As you can see halfway through this short 3 minute 2-channel sound test video... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e-B3kjyLvwA.html
@@GreekAudioGeek yeah man that reply made me look you up and I like what you've got to say especially about measurements (hence the subscription) with remarks like that I wonder if your noise floor is as quiet as mine 😁
They are great subs (I've owned them) but they can't defy the laws of physics. Neither does this DSP, but it certainly helps put the outcome more in your favor.
@eel3161 There are certainly many different ways to get better sound! For most people ~$375 for a full automated sophisticated one touch DSP for multiple subs that doesn't require additional gear, mics, stands, software, etc. is a no-brainer. I own a umik-1 and I use REW. I would take this one-box DSP over any other option for getting the best bass possible. That is just my personal opinion.
@eel3161 Low frequencies are omnidirectional and you get the overall best results when they are reproduced and corrected in mono. You do not hear the individual subs, you hear the combined response of the subs and the *room*. Measuring and correcting the combined response is what you want. At most "independent" sub outputs match the delays of the subs and still drive both with the same signal. Depending on your listening position (if it's very close to a back wall) and sub placement (non-symmetric to the room) phase matching before correction might produce slightly better end results (but you need to measure and compare). Getting the best before-correction result does not imply the best after-correction result.
jeez first time seeing a channel where the channel owner is the one spamming the comments with begging please subscribe comments etc. Somebody tell him he can pin his own comment to be first in line.
It is completely different. Adjusting the bass gain/cut at a single preset frequency like a tone control does, in no way helps the other multitude of peaks and valleys of the bass output.
@@GreekAudioGeek indeed. Even a 2/3 octave eq isn't good enough. Maybe with a good parametric eq but then it's a lot of faff. Plus a good mic rew etc needed ontop.
