I don't get the hate for the B batch. I feel like people are just saying that because of the lower age statement. Yet, I bet many of these folks are the same people who heaped tons of praises on the store pics of 8yr and 9yr single barrels that they also have bought 😂. Idc what you haters say, B batch is amazing. Can't wait to try the C batch though!

I always figure that the hate is just in comparison to the other ecbp releases, not an actual hate overall. Example of this is that the Four Rose 2021 LE is my least favorite LE since 2015, but when comparing to other 2021 releases it still finished in top 6.

I'm kind of in your camp as well. I've actually been a fan of the B Batches since I started drinking the ECBP stuff back in 2020. The B profile is more to my liking than A. And usually the C batches have enough of the same A sharp fruit notes to put me off. I do admit B523 is my least favorite B batch, but it's still much better than some/most of thr bad A batches I've had, which are a lot. I could care less about the age statement cause there are tons of ECPB 8-10 year bottles that are CRUSHERS. The best thing about everyone hating on the B batch, it's all over the shelves still so I can grab more bottles and it can be my daily sipper if I want.

C923 is absolutely crushing it. Kurt from SLB picked it over GTS in a blind! Probably the best value in bourbon at the moment and, and, and you can actually get it at msrp!

I acquired all three. I like the A batch best. Thanks for all you do Matt! Spinning the wheel of confusion always makes me cringe, waiting for calamity. But you always pull it off. Great work!

Have all 3. Also have a backup for the A&C batches but not the B batch. I totally agree with you on both the A&C as being 2 great bottles. I do prefer the C batch overall. Something neat to try is blending the EC 923 with the Larceny 923. You’d be pleasantly surprised how great those taste together.

Haven't been able to get a bottle of C923 for myself yet. Did the lineup blind thanks to a sample from my brother's bottle of C923 and came up with the same order.

I did get all three, it’s really close between A and C but I’d have to go with at this point. I’ll wait a couple of weeks and go back with the A and C to see if I change my opinion.

Just picked up a B. Got the A a few months ago. C isn't in my state yet. I don't care, all ecbp are excellent for $75. I haven't had any yet that I couldn't drink and enjoy.

Ok so I did A123 B522 because everyone said don’t buy 523 and C923. Same results. C won A was next and B was different. Still don’t think C920 can be beat.

A123 is a great ECBP but its the C923 by a pretty good margin.

I bought a backup bottle of EC BP C923 due to the hype, but drinks too hot currently for me even over ice. I like the A123 the best of the 2023 releases. 🥃

Funny how ECBP C923 is 13 years old... Barrel Proof... and $75 and fairly available. Compare that against, I dunno... Russels 13 which isn't available and MSRP is double (though you'll probably pay $200+ at best). How about WT Generations which is a blend with 9 year in it for $450... The Heaven Hill profile isn't for everyone - they tend to be very nutty like Jim Beam - but you can't deny the monster value. We people punching babies to buy Eagle Rare 10 year for $70 and that's low proof fruit water that people treat like gold. Blanton's is a worse offender to the bourbon crowd at $65 MSRP and tasting like dirty low proof fruit water (and 6-8 years old BTW)... More brands need to be like HH. They don't get the respect but they absolutely MOG the pricing on WT products (now) and the 'allocation' scam being run by Buffalo Trace.

For my palate, B523 was my favorite. C923 would be a close second. I only had a sample of A when it came out, and it didn't stand out for me the way B did.

I can’t wait until every whiskey tuber has made every video comparing these 3 whiskeys and every other same brand comparisons. Spoiler they all taste similar, with slightly unique differences. Just like every whiskey from a different barrel.😮

I still don't understand why they need the letter and the month, it should just A23 or 123. Ever "A" batch is a "1" for January, there will never be a C523 or a B123 so why have the duplicate labels?

IF you'd have picked anything but C923, I'd unfollow and never watch another video of yours. lol For me, B523 comes off flat, A123 is a bit sharp. C923 is a big step above the others for me. ....try blending equal parts of A and B together. It makes a better version of ECBP, than on their own, buts still not in the league of C923. IMO
