Very helpful dude, the backpack with the board straps is gonna be my next essential piece of kit. I have a skatebolt breeze 2 that you reviewed and its awesome!!! Can you recommend anyone who makes replacement hub motor sleeves in different colors and sizes for those boards? Thankyou.
Bro this video saved my life. I watched it yesterday and went for a ride like an hour later. I typically dont bring anything on my rides but I brought my water bottle, helmet and skatetool. Then I got into this nasty crash going 20 miles an hour. I usually dont bring helmets but if it wasnt for that I could have gotten a concussion. I was also able to use my water bottle to clean the wounds while I waited for help to arrive (in the form of my family). Thank you so much Ronnie!
I will take this experience you shared and remember it before going on my first ride. I have about 6 years of vert skating under my belt and just bought the backfire zealot as my first electric longboard. Im so excited and am going to make sure im safe since this is a completely different beast.
He saved your life ? Litteraly every single 10 year old on this planet knows to wear a helmet while riding a bike. How does a guy in his mid 20s need to watch a video for it to understand. Its so weird to me. Litteraly every single person says wear a hwlmet and its even illegal not to.
If you like listening to music while riding and its sunny outside, i would reccomend the Bose Frames. these are actually sunglasses you can listen to music on. the thing i like best about these is htat u can still hear whats going on in the envirement around you because the sound dont go intro your ears directly.
I bought a meepo mini 2 cause of you. Watched your video and literally went straight to the website and purchased haha I’ll be throwing the waterborne surf adapter with the carbon fiber extender piece to give the board a long wheel base and a little bit of flex. Thanks for the awesome videos!
16:08 I exclusively use ceramics, but not necessarily by choice. I always recommend them for people who live in super humid areas because they'll last a bit longer in humid environments. They don't feel much different while riding, but they definitely won't rust over time.
Did you have any problem with eskateboard going to the Philippines? I live in toronto canada and I've been waiting for backfire zealot to deliver it to me and its gonna be my first time buying and riding that..
Hi, i hope i will still get answer considering age of the video, but can i jump with 17:30 on Hub Motors? (I got Ex Wave but i would love to be able to jump, but im afraid hub motors would not handle the contact after jump, or would they?
Actually, I think gloves like the flatland3D gloves are very userful and necessary. If you ever fall, your instinct will be to put your hands forward and these gloves are made for you to slide, if you dont slide it will break your wrists so thats no good
Whenever daily life comes back to normal you should create a skate event! I live in the Northern Virginia i’d love to meet up with everyone and just ride around D.C. metro area. Stay safe Ronnie!
I suggest listening to bluetooth neck speakers so you can still hear your fave playlist and ambient noise at the same time. Having music and not having to sacrifice safety. 👌
Hi Ronnie. Just got my first board at 50-something years old. I knew enough from my rollerblading days to wear noggin protection, but it came quickly apparent that I needed to understand more about stance and many of your other tips in this video. Thanks for posting. I'm subscribed and looking forward to learning more from you about this great sport!
My response to what you said right at the beginning: anyone who is so afraid of getting sick that they won’t even leave there house to go ride there board is a complete paranoid idiot. Seriously.
Ronny, I ate it on my onewheel XR at 26.5mph last Sunday. I was wearing a full face helmet, elbow and knee pads, and the flatlands 3D wrist protector gloves. I SLAMMED onto my left elbow, knee, and hip. For a little while we were all convinced that I broke my femur. The swelling was that severe and that fast. Anyway, ended up walking away with some awful contusions and lots of road rash. Had I not had on the gear, honestly I think I’d have been much more hurt. The flatlands gloves did their job. My hands slid out instead of gripping the pavement and snapping my wrists. I was pushing the speed on the onewheel and knew the risks. I nosedived in the pursuit of speed. Now I know the bleeding edge of speed on the onewheel and don’t have to go there anymore. Anyway, wear your gear guys. I am getting even more gear to wear because I also ride esk8 and have boards that are 45mph capable. I hit 38mph almost every ride. Doesn’t make sense to NOT wear gear at those speeds.
Shout out to shockwave cause there the bone conduction ones I use when I wasn’t to listen to music while also being aware. Great video Ronnie keep the video and vibes goin ✌🏿
Just getting into all this. Your videos are some of the better ones I've come across... Great stuff man! Thanks for the tips. The stoke is freakin high!
For lights I’d recommend the iWonder single bar lights. They mount with the trucks and they come with extra hardware and adapters and work for an under the truck setup and they work above the board (drop through trucks work with them) and they’re half the price of shred lights too they’re like 14$. They got like 5 modes and they blink red and white too.
I used to do downhill longboard sliding and ngl I fell like once or twice and the first time I very literally hit the back of my head on the asphalt plus I was going very fast so it hit hard but not gonna say lucky cos it's common sense but I DID have my helmet on. Everytime u wanna go down a hill without brakes u gotta wear a helmet, *be smart.* Anyway I'm moving onto electric longboards but skipping all the beginner BS and going straight to the expensive fast boards so this video will really help me with this new sector of riding thx.
I Just Bought A Backfire Zealot. It's Still Shipping So I Am Trying To Get Safety Gear Such as Gloves Backpack. I Am New To E Boards. I Don't Have a Ton Of Cash For A $300 Helmet So Should I Get A Cheap Motorcycle Helmet With Good Vision Or A Skate Helmet. Also Should I Get 120 Mm Cloud Wheels Until I Get Better And Get The 105Mm Cloud Wheels After. Any Thoughts Anyone. Much Appreciated
Im driving a slow 31km/h board and i fell twice im lucky. I got reflexes that basicly spin me so i land on hands legs or my back instead of my head xD. I once almost got hit by a car and drove as an escape into a pothole. I fell and basicly rolled over my shoulder to not hit my head. Wht im tryna say is. WEAR A HELMET YALL
How to waterproof your electrick skateboard? and the electric internals? apply a waterproof coating IP65 to the board and gel to the electrics. Reinforce the hard internals so it withstands damage from curbs etc. Its ok to ride e board in the rain since your commuting with it as your main purpose. And get all terrain wheels it will make the board go right over those tiny stones that make ordinary wheels stop.
Yeah I got the Meepo mini 2 ER that can hit 30-32 mph (with 100mm wheel upgrades) and I don’t wear a helmet. Idk maybe I’m gonna die. Should prob pick up a helmet.
Hey Ronnie. Nice to see you again. Skatebolt is working on belt drive motor for Breeze II. It'll be interesting. Not sure how they'll pull that off though.
Good alternative to armored clothing is motorcycle clothing. There is a good number of motorcycle jackets and trousers/pants available that look just like regular clothes.
I think the only ones I would add would be goggles and a balaclava. They're annoying to wear all the time, but when you want to go fast, they really help cut down on annoyances caused by wind, especially if you're riding into it.
still in quarantine and my poor longboard has gotten so dusty and the wheels are so stiff as i have not. rid it for like. 5 months witch sucks i’m home and can’t go out:(
Full face will cause broken collar bone :-/ broke mine on a one wheel after dirt biking in full gear. Which is prlly y I ate it. Nice huh 8n gravel @full speed.
I would suggest you mention G-Form they are protective gears that is soft while worn but gets immediately hard when hit. Its easy to put them under your trousers and longsleeve tops. For people who are embaressed to wear big chunk protective gear.
Just ordered a Meepo board 🤙 cool to see your in Virginia! I live down in Hampton Roads so I’m trying to find areas to cruise around before the board comes in the mail. Awesome video bro
@@cinialvespow1054 I dont have both, but cags are a cushier ride at the cost of a tiny bit of torque. So if you arent as big on acceleration then get the cags.. watch some review vids tho
@@Mryodamiles So far I love it, but time will tell whether that be the case 6mths from now. I have to say, the majority of the weight be on the back of the board makes it a bit awkward when you need to carry it. I still love it.
Like getting punched in the arm but I did lose my balance and hit the ground. It's hard to feel lucky when you have a skinned up hip and elbow. They didn't stop probably didn't know they clipped me.
I got the wrong type of knee pads lol they dont stay on if i fall, but they will absorb most of the impact. If i dont wear those, I got these great gloves that have wrist support which i always wear that make me feel so safe. They are very comfortable and if i fall i wont lose a hand which i need
My e skateboard workout. Riding in reverse so I can slide the back wheels which would be the front wheels. I carve using the brakes. And a little bit of sliding. Down a fairly steep Hill. At the bottom walk up instead of using the skateboard. At the top you can add push-ups with your hands on the skateboard . Now you are officially exercising... Which is okay with stay-at-home orders. In California.... Love all the gear tips. I love lights. I'm going to buy this glove LED on the knuckles. On wish. Along with the lights I already have. Blink S2. So when I'm holding the remote. The glove light is pointing at the road.
I have an entry level board plus my area's terrain isn't really range-friendly (loads of hills that are either climbable but very long or ones that are ridiculously steep. Either way drains the battery like a mf) ...so i go on 5-7ish miles 'urban' joyrides. Accessories: helmet, backpack, jbl flip3, armband for phone, t tool, 360 1x. I used to commute with the board, that goes with leather biker jacket and thick jeans plus i had as much lights as a Christmas tree...
Hey Ronnie and fans, any chance that we have like a ratings list of eskateboards? Like which others are on top in different categories? Like in speed, comfort, range, looks etc. Thank you very much for whoever's gonna reply :)
Currently convincing my parents to let me buy the ownboard w2. I’m allowed to get it but I want to pay for it myself. I’ll keep y’all posted as I’ve always wanted an electric skateboard
Hi Ronnie, I love watching your clips, I watched your clips to choose a board. Thanks a lot. I was wonder if you could share the light information(white in front and red in rear) you mentioned in this clips. Best!
So Great!! Thanks Ronnie* , so excited for my Flex to arrive, and now's a good time to get prepped and ready. Big Thanks for the top tips, and links... all very much appreciated!! Coolest Runnings* 😊🍀🌟
I wouldn't mind third party king pins for the evolve boards. Their ones have failed on me. First the front then the back. Luckily when I wasn't travelling fast.
