The ending of my first play through I ended up joining Karlach & Wyll in the Hell’s and the 3 of us continued our fight against evil. I thought it was a pretty good ending.
I think that was the best ending for Karlach before this one. At least she wasn't alone, she was with her love and their great companion. But here, she not only gets to live, but becomes immortal and can live forever with her love. I think this is the first "true" "happy" ending for her as all of the prior ones were either sad or not quite "happy."
@@Loryplayznot something she would do... but something she could do. The way her va reads the lines really sells it that it's a path Karlach COULD have taken if she let her rage and vengeance consume her
I kind of hate it, it's 80% of the way there but summoning devils to kill indiscriminately? 1. devils don't do that, they aren't demons, 2. No version of Karlach should be massacring the children and the destitute, everyone else? Sure
Funny thing to note. Gale says she will transform to her "intended" state. She is the same, but glowey. That is a bit trippy. Like Gale, becoming divine mostly just stabilizes and empowers her.
@@magicman25103 Ish. I think. Cuz Gale says becomin deity will make her what she was meant to be. So she was "meant" to have infernal engine and be half demon. We still see all the fire holes. Doesn't seem to lose her infernal engine. Can only assume being a goddess just stabilized it.
@@shadopard7527 she hadn't ascended as a goddess yet. sadly gods in this universe probably can't just ascend someone on a whim without getting in trouble. so it's probable they're just starting a path towards her ascending to godhood.
It is said that no one can choose to be a follower of Karlach, Goddess of Rebellion. It is only when one is pushed to the brink by the cruelty of the world and refuses to give up when She makes Herself known to you. If your heart has ever burned with enough heat to scorch the very hells, know that She stands with you. Curious, then, that a God, a being of ultimate authority, would symbolize defying authority. How could this be? It is because She, like the God of Ambition, doesn’t distribute favors from on high. Rather, it is through example and the desire for a better world that their supporters can follow suit. Although, She does take a more… *active* role in conflicts than Her husband does.
I agree, I was sad that I couldn't make Minthara a goddess. This would be a great ending for my corrupt Gale and Minthara and a great way to show the middle finger to Mystra and Lolth. P.S. I’m even curious what kind of goddess Minthara could become)
@@ValerieMais It is really sad ending if you play Gale oring and go for godhood, nobody speaks with you, nobody recognizes anything you acckomplished, probably the worst ending :D
I prefer romancing her with Durge and then fixing her engine the old fashioned way. By killing demons and devils in a hell factory and getting her the necessary pieces. Because then she can continue to adventure in Faerun, exactly as she wants.
My bromance, saving the life of my romance . . . Bittersweet ending from original character's perspective, but one that I can ( and so can they ) live with ! A toast !
I don't think so. Judging by the story, "you" love Gale, so you stay by his side. But as he said, "you" will become a god on your own with your own domain. You can decide for yourself what you wanna do once you ascend to divinity
Gale's a fck.n beast in the new evil endings, he goes out to wage an all-out war on all the Gods of their realm... also tears the barrier between Earth and Heaven with the snap of a finger. I genuinely think that with the new evil endings revealed by Larian, Gale is the strongest of the origin characters by far, i mean come on, Asstarion is only a city clerk, Karlach is a bare-assed barbarian outlander and Shart is only strong at the beginning because of physically having the artefact. Baezel is baezel, a nerdy fighter. Maybe Wyll could come close because of the hell-pact.... but i think not.
I’ve always had an issue with gale’s ascension, which is that in D&D, gods get their power directly from worship, but gale has no ‘followers’, so how does his ascension even work? Karsus had an entire empire behind him so his case makes more sense
@@dragosradoi7442 the latter wouldn't take much effort at all if you think about it. bringing down the nether brain, becoming a god, creating a new form of magic, etc. such grand things to tend to attract attention and reverence fairly quickly, especially if you're encouraging their ambitions.
This Ending with Karladh alone and not having Wyll and MC feels like it's missing something : the "Don't forget, you asked for this" and "how to kill imps" like she talks to herself doesn't work so much if she is alone.
Karlach would absolutely become a god of freedom. It’s all she fought for her whole life. A chance to live as she chose. Not as she was commanded. Just as Gale is proof that ambition is not ill placed, Karlach is proof that Freedom can be achieved even if you are first a slave
Wouldn't say best, as it seems too absolute as an ending, still prefesr the avernus one, whitout wyll (fuck wyll), with the prospective to heal her heart given the projects she mentions.
I'd like to know how to trigger this ending. Do you just spend the game romancing Gale and encouraging him to use the Crown when the time comes? My Tav playthrough Gale just returned the crown to Mystra, and I'm not sure what makes him ascend when you're not playing as him.
how is he the most useless when he encourages people to follow their ambitions AND created a new form of magic? those alone can lead to great things, benevolent or malevolent. inspiring others is often more powerful and useful than it sounds. and it's still better than what most gods do, which is try to make others worship just them and other such selfish things.
To be fair, most of them are pretty useless. What does Shar give Shadowheart? A mindwipe, hand pain and immunity to a curse she's the cause of. What wonderful blessings. There was a reason Ketheric had to flip through the divine yellow pages to find a god to solve his one issue.
@bluntlyhonest6803 ignoring the fact he crafted a new form of magic and never once stated he doesn't or won't bestow actual blessings. Even without blessings, inspiring others can have profound effects in the future, making him far from being the most useless god. After all, inspiration and ambition both have led to things that people have remembered for centuries, with some having lasting effects on history, even in the real world.
