Also, the eJPT entire course/labs is free with an INE starter account. So, you only have to pay the voucher fee for the cert.

Hey Colin looking for advice on my job search. Currently a Spanish teacher but looking to leave b/c the pay sucks. In the last 5 months I obtained (Google Data Analytics Cert, Google Project Management Cert, Comptia Security + Cert). I have a limited budget to pay for more certs/training. My 2 questions are: 1. What type of jobs/pay would you say I am qualified for now? 2. How can I buff my resume even further but inexpensively? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your informative video. I have network+, security+, and now. Heading towards good security engineer, What do you think kind of the better way to get there? I do agree that certs help me a lot to study and self-confidence. Because I am a beginner too, I think like this now. Study scripting especially Powershell > Cysa > CISSP What do you think about this? If you advise about the path or "the things beginners should do to enhance their security way, that would be great!! I already bought some books and video courses about Powershell for this winter, so I would like to get your advice about kinda mid-term or long term perspective for security beginners like me (only 1 year of security experience) Sorry, I wrote too much but I am very eager about security too.

My work is going to reimburse me so I feel like I might as well go ahead and finish my degree. I'm getting it in cyber security. So my question is if I'm working on my degree should I also be spending the time on these certifications?

@@XxAlex530xX Hello Argonaut, I'm doing really well at my work as cyber sec analyst and also threat intelligence writer. I took the Network + course but failed the exam. I'm waiting to pass my drivers license, before trying a second attempt. I really reccommend it if you barely know anything about Networking. It has helped me understand how alerts are triggered and sort between false and true positive triggers.

@@lizziesoddprojects2120 thank you for your response. That’s awesome! Good luck on your drivers license exam. So, I’m starting an associates degree in cyber security in community college it starts this September. I have been listening to Professor Messers videos. I believe when I graduate I will have my COMPTIA, Network, and security + certs. So I have a few months before I start that course do you recommend I should be doing something right now? Other than watching a few RU-vid videos?
@lizziesoddprojects2120
@lizziesoddprojects2120 3 года назад
@@XxAlex530xX That sounds amazing!You will have a good start then if you get those two. I'm so lucky to have my workplace pay for my course, so I got access to Comptias own learning portal and exam practice portal. Especially the latter is amazing. I also saw all professor Messers videos, but reading the information and doing the lab exercises at Comptia has helped me really understand. I bought professor Messers notes for Network +, which is fine but I havent used it much. If you can get a free trial subscription to Pluralsight, I reccomens the Network + videos from Ron Bagurdes. I recommend really nailing down the OSI layera, and all the componenta that fit into the different layers. I found different analogies for it and drew a drawing for myself. Lastly cram.com has some good free memory cards which can also be played as the "Jewels of wisdom". I made a couple of decks myself, which you can find under Lizzioy.

"SANS courses aren't cheap" is an understatement. It's a pound of flesh regardless of the course level. $7k+ for intro to cybersecurity is ridiculous.

I dont know if anyone will see this, but I am pretty much at a loss of what to do. I have both the Sec+ and CySA+, a bachelors in comp sci, and Ive been stuck in Desktop support roles for 5 years. I have had a total of 1 cyber security interviews, I blew it and didnt get the job. My question is where is the best point to go from here? I dont know if I should go for another certificate like SANS or CEH, but it seems near impossible to get another interview, and I can feel the knowledge I gained from these certs leaving my brain. The only thing I can actually think of is to take another shot in the dark with another cert, but Im not sure. If there is anyone out there that has some insight, please share it.
