Yes, you heard it right! Chris Chibnall did NOT kill Doctor Who. Eh, barring a few, he genuinely had a few solid bangers in his tenure as the showrunner for Doctor Who through Series 11-13.
I'm talking about the Tsuranga Conundrum, Episode 5 of Series 11. See for yourself What I'm Talking About.

Ok, I don't get about the vitriol against Chibnell and Whitaker. See I was around during the original run of the series. I saw The Web Planet, I saw the Keys of Marinus and The Chase. That was the first Doctor. And I saw every incarnation since. Does anyone else realize WHY Doctor Who is so unique? Even when the actor nails the role there are some god-awful episodes and some great ones. David Tenant is considered brilliant but not every episode of his was great. Same with Smith. I noticed some people feel Capaldi wasn't as good but have you seen his Zygon Speech or him alone in that 'castle?' I liked Demons of the Punjab and Rosa, I thought they were really good. And the Recon Dalek was probably one of the best uses of the Daleks in ages. Doctor Who works because it doesn't work. You know every episode is a bloody gamble. No one thought Flatline would be good and it was probably one of the most horrifying villains in ages. Back in the Second Doctor's run everyone wanted to resee Tomb of the Cybermen and no one cared about the Enemy of the World. Then both episodes come to light and opinions change. I think Chibnell made some awful episodes, (the followup to the Recon was bad though I found it sucked less due to acting and more because the music made it impossible to hear anyone talking,) but Moffat did crap too, and Davies, and going back Verity had some terrible pieces as well. That's the name of the game with this show. Because it can potentially go anywhere it sucks as often as it succeeds. But claiming the series is dead is exactly what everyone claimed when Colin Baker took over. He had some horrible episodes but given the chance he shone. Just to put this whole thing in perspective, Caves of Androzani is seen as one of the best episodes and Twin Dilemma remains the worst, even though they came one after the other. The point isn't simply good and bad though, it's these episodes came out DECADES AGO. Doctor Who is fifty plus years old. If you think things suck now you didn't see stuff in the 70s, 60s and 80s. This show can suck and be brilliant. You can't have one attributes without the other. All you get that way is bland mediocrity.
