I rarely ever comment but this was a very well done video. I would only add that maybe showing exactly how you took off the other parts might help those who don't know. I watched as a refresher because a lot can change in ten plus years since I've done one. Thanks
The fix was easy. Hardest part is getting the trim off, but that's not too bad either. Saved hella $$$ and feel like I know my car better. Thank you for this walk through! 😇
This video could not be any better explained. It killed my fears from fixing mine. Let hope I can do it now. Thank you so much for your time. God bless.
You are NOT just a girl, you’re smart, nice work, thanks for watching, be careful for moving parts in the door panel when energized, let us all know how the repair goes for you.
@@MechaniclifeJDMthank you so much, that’s very uplifting ! I was following along very well up until i was just abt to install the new regulator… 🤦♀️ i accidentally bought the new one w/o a motor & as i tried to affix the old motor onto the new assembly, the wires sprung loose & it all unraveled 😂 i will be buying a different one w/ a motor already on it lol
@@1nner.w0rld😂 lesson learned on that one, it happens, even to the professionals, at least you weren’t injured, hopefully you have it back together already and working good by the time you see this. Follow up here either way. What state are you out of?
@@MechaniclifeJDM I completely failed… the entire window glass shattered 😔 just kidding lol the replacement was a success ! it was surprisingly easy, so thanks again 🙏🏼 I was also wondering can WD-40 be used as a silicone lubricant spray like shown in the video ? & I’m out of tampa, FL !
Subscribed twice - 2 different names... That's how much you saved me. Great vid, really clear, another trick I used in when pushing the window into the new plastic regulator clip I used a 12 inch quick grip placed carefully on window glass and inside the door cutout. carefully squeezing while making sure the clip was aligned with the hole. worked really well. ( i have hand/finger issues so I couldn't push hard enough.) Jdm may have a caution here....and I'd listen to him vs me. ;-)
Thank you so much for your kinds words, I am glad it was able to help you out. You or any other viewers are more than welcome to post up any additional information in the comments that will be helpful to another viewer on my channel. I like to keep it an open forum of helpful tips, it’s the whole reason this channel was created. Thanks very much.
Thanks for watching and for taking the opportunity to share your thought on this with us! If only we could permanently affix a warning label to their heads to warn other professionals out there. 😆
@@sercanserj7804 Hi there Mr. keyboard commando with one video on your channel, not trying to help anyone but quick with your opinions. Your one video bashes RU-vid yet you still came seeking help, that in itself speaks volumes about your mode, thanks for watching have a wonderful day!
This is the second time I've had to do it in the last year so I have to go out and buy the tools to remove the panel I bought the Phillips screwdriver Allen wrenches and now I need to know the size socket to remove those nuts holding in the window regulator
Thanks for watching, and thanks very much for your kind words, I’m very glad that I was able to assist you and satisfy or even exceed your expectations after the initial click. I genuinely hope that you have subscribed. Thank you and have a great day.
I have a 2014 Fiat 500L 1.4L turbo 4 door. I am having trouble finding the regulator-motor assembly that fits my car for the front driver's side window.. On E-bay they say they are all for the Fiat 500 cars. Can you help me?
As a woman, I enjoyed your video. Very easy to follow. Could you tell me the headlight tip please? Also, what are the clips I need to bring the top and bottom of the wing together please?
Glad it was helpful! The headlight failure is due to (2) electrical components known as relays which have failed on the Body Control Module, which is up under the dash on the drivers side, research this Fiat 500 BCM Headlights Staying On
Love your video and your style of explaining each step. I do have a problem I'd like your advise on. Everything went just as it should...until I tested the operation. The glass moves straight up and out instead of following the slight curve of the window frame. I have reassembled and reassembled the entire process three times and each time the class takes that same route. The clip is securely in the hole where it snaps in. I'm at a loss. Any advise?
Hello, thank you for the kind words. Try to inspect the track for bends if its good, set it further back into the rear track then tighten it down but don’t go crazy on those pinch bolts, then follow up, also, where did you get the regulator?
You will have to pull the panel and visually inspect. However, at the rate these parts are failing, I strongly suggest that you buy and replace both, if you can swing the cash. Go in there once with quality parts and do a careful job and it will all be good to go for a good long time. Thanks for watching and commenting, follow up with us here once you repair it.
So, ive tried replacing mine and i came across an issues after proper installation. What happened after assembly i forgot to calibrate the regulator to meet the window. Meaning, making sure my positiong of the regulator is all the way up, rather than down. I went tried moving my window down and what happened was it fell through the clip and snap it again. Lmao I'm about to install it again we'll see how it goes this time! Wish me luck 💯🔥
The process shown in the video is the same for both sides, just mirror image and you may have a little bit more wiring to disconnect but it’s nothing difficult. If I were closer I would come help but I am in Southern California so for right now a visit is not in the cards, but who knows maybe next summer, but I would hope that your windows issue would be solved by then.

Appreciate that. Can you suggest a place where I can buy the regulator for my ‘18 Fiat 500 x that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg? I have already bought 2 and neither one was the correct fit.
Body control module internal relays fail There are companies online you can ship the module to and they can repair it for you quickly and ship it back, the cool thing is that it’s plug and play because it’s your original module going back in.
