The latest episode of the original comic book was episode 130, while season 1 of the animated series was up to episode 60 of the original. So there is not much stock.

Looking at how the manga chapters were grouped into anime episodes, it's clear that the makers of the anime specifically chose this chapter as the ending point of the season. Most episodes of the anime cover exactly 2 manga chapters. But they broke that pattern for these last 2 episodes just so they could end at this quick goodbye. I've never seen an anime adaptation of a manga that so perfectly captures the feeling of the source material but also adds so much to it. If you read the manga, you'll notice that while some impactful panels (e.g., the tower full of blue moon weed flowers) are directly adapted, the anime very often chooses different ways of presenting the same thing, e.g. showing a different point of view or having a creatively-framed close-in shot instead of a static wide-angle view. The anime's creators really understood that manga and anime are different media and they clearly took the time to actually adapt the source instead of just using it as a storyboard and copying it panel by panel.

Wow, they’ve really put so much work and thought into the adaptation 🤍 now that I’m watching Oshi No Ko, I’m also getting a limited view into how music industry works in Japan as well as stage plays (adapted from manga). It’s not as easy and straightforward as someone would have thought (or perhaps i just never thought about it). After what you’ve written and what I’ve seen in Oshi No Ko I appreciate Frieren even more 😊

@@ExpectoRidiculum More, it is surprising that the director of this anime is only 31 years old and is an up-and-coming young director in only his second work after being promoted to the director's chair.

Lernen absolutely had a chance at defeating Frieren. Did you notice how his attacks were shattering her barrier like they were nothing? He specifically said that he was a battle mage who would have been famous had he been born in the era of Heroes. He's also the one responsible for creating the Golems that are capable of healing with the Goddesses magic.

I fully agree with you both! The more I rewatch this series the more details I notice. I’m also very thankful for the comments section full of people who pointed me out certain moments and meanings 😊 The fact that Frieren got slightly wounded was also to show how strong he is and how he could.. well, kill Frieren, if he wanted to. I’m glad it didn’t escalated further but he made a point and so did Frieren

Facial expressions, words, and trivial actions give rise to all kinds of speculations and delusions. But there seems to be no correct answer anywhere. It is as complex as if they were real, living people. So there is several times more content than what we watched. Thanks to you, I know that it is generally attracting the same emotions and discussions among people abroad, and I am convinced of the universality of this work. I hear rumors that the next season is such a deep story that this season feels like a prelude. I look forward to watching it with you.

Alex, I am legitimately so sad that we've reached the end of this series. I do plan to watch your Oshi no Ko S2 reactions, but not until my kid and I have had a chance to watch the episodes first, which means I won't be able to stay current on your uploads. I'm subscribed to your channel and I'll keep an eye out for something else to watch with you but this feels like a parting of ways, at least temporarily. What a journey! It was a pleasure, Alex! I'm happy I got to discover your channel through this masterclass of an anime! Onto the next series, let's go~~~ P.S - Also just some stuff I noticed and looked into it a bit and apparently, as it was hinted, Lernen - the old guy that is a 1st class mage who wanted to duel Frieren - could actually kill her or rather put up a fight that might make Frieren sweat and fight for her life - this is why Serie is disappointed, because he actually is very skilled and talented but because he is a human he will die of old age very quickly (in her eyes, because what is mere 80-90 years right) and won't be able to develop his skills to their full potential. Serie isn't a bad character and she is possibly one of the biggest tsunderes I've seen yet xD The show really puts these little stuff here and there that you probably will notice if you re-watch it haha. Anyways, thank you once again for the amazing journey!

I’m super thankful to people who recommended that I watch Frieren because I got to know so many kind people 😊 unlike in some other series full of.. well, a bit toxic fan base 😅 but that cannot be avoided sometimes. In terms of Lerner vs Frieren - oh yes, he’d defeat her. In fact, he’d either heavily injure her or kill her if he really wanted. He really made a point and Serie did say herself that her student is very capable and someone have told me that he also created those golems in the dungeon (do you remember healing one? Absolutely mind blowing). To be capable of something like this one must be extremely skilled 😊 I agree with you on the tsundere bit. It’s basically what taundere becomes after they’ve lived for thousand of years and more 😅

gotta appreciate how big Land's attributes are, my man really thought he could trick the greatest mage to ever live with some cloning magic. Serie enjoys the cheekiness of youngsters tho so she passed him (also cause his application was honestly masterful too). And her smile at Wirbel's answer kinda gave me a chill, that's what she likes to hear :D

She did like his answer! Omg I felt chill after rewatching it ! The more you rewatch Frieren the more you notice these things. I am a big fan of Land’s power and strategy. I love his analitycal and careful approach to everything around. Ones magic reflects their nature. I guess in the world full of magic I’d have aptitude for similar skill 😊

Thank you for a wonderful reaction series to Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. Madhouse delivered the greatest Manga-to-Anime adaptation that I have ever seen. I personally have never enjoyed a full season as much as I did with Frieren at the Funeral and with Expecto Ridiculum Reacts reactions!

Oh I’ve cried my eyes out while watching Violet! No other anime made me feel so shattered in such short amount of time and I’m only on episode 10 😅 Thank you very much for being part of my channel and always commenting under Frieren videos. It always brings smile and happiness to me seeing that someone enjoyed watching anime with me 😊 I guess it’s time I start editing VE for RU-vid.
